41. ONGC, J&K Govt collaborate to enhance healthcare facilities at Baltal, Chandanwari
- Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has partnered with the Department of Health and Medical Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, to significantly improve healthcare infrastructure in the region.
- Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, ONGC has constructed permanent 100-bed hospitals at Baltal in Ganderbal district and Chandanwari in Anantnag district.
- The strategic location of the hospitals along the Amarnath Yatra route addresses the longstanding issue of temporary medical facilities that were set up annually, involving substantial recurring costs and logistical challenges.
- The hospital boasts 100 beds, staff accommodation, and advanced intensive care units. After completion, the J&K Health Department will take over the operation and maintenance of these facilities, ensuring year-round healthcare access for residents and pilgrims alike.

42. GMC Anantnag achieves milestone with first successful Whipple Procedure
- In a first for Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, a team of doctors have successfully performed the Whipple procedure on an elderly patient.
- The Whipple procedure is a critical operation used to treat pancreatic cancer and other related diseases. “It involves the removal of the head of the pancreas, the duodenum, part of the bile duct, gallbladder, and part of the stomach.
- The landmark achievement is a significant step forward for GMC Anantnag and the healthcare services in region.

43. India, Benin hold 3rd round of talks with aim to strengthen bilateral ties
- The third round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between India and Benin ended on June 25, 2024, with an aim to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, said the Ministry of External Affairs.
- The Indian delegation, led by Additional Secretary (C&WA), and the Beninese delegation, led by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Frank Armel Afoukou, discussed a wide range of issues, including political, trade and economic, defense, development partnership, capacity building, cultural relations.
- Both countries sides also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest and agreed to enhance their cooperation in the multilateral fora. The consultations also focused on the promotion of developmental cooperation and capacity building in the spirit of South-South cooperation.
- The bilateral trade and investment between India and Benin has been growing steadily, with total bilateral trade reaching US$ 1.34 billion during 2022-23.

44. NABARD Launches AI-Powered Climate Resilient Tea Cultivation Project in Assam
- NABARD, Assam RO, sanctioned a unique project titled “Climate resilient tea cultivation and AI-based pest management for small tea growers” across the State.
- The implementing agency will be IFFCO Kisan Suvidha Ltd. (IKSL) and the Pilot will be implemented for the STGs of Sewujjyoti Tea Federation, located at Chapanalla in Barhampur Development Block of Nagaon district.
- Through such projects, NABARD disseminated the utility of artificial intelligence (AI) and various technological advancements in Agri-Horti sector for the greater benefit of farmers and artisans in rural areas.

45. Tripura launches Project Monitoring Unit to expedite central scheme approvals
- The Tripura Government on 25 June 2024 opened the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU), which will help the state in faster project sanctioning under many Central schemes and will also serve as an innovation hub advising departments on future projects.
- The PMU has been set up at an approximate cost of Rs 15 crore for a period of 3 years.
- Tripura Planning and Coordination Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said an e-tender was called for the selection of a Consulting Firm for the appointment of 14 sector experts for the formation of the Project Management Unit (PMU) in the Planning and Coordination Department as per the decision of the Government of Tripura.

46. Tripura takes steps to make state self-sufficient in fodder production
- Minister of Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD), announced on 26 June 2024 that the Tripura state government has initiated steps to achieve self-sufficiency in fodder production.
- Initiatives have been taken to make the state self-sufficient in fodder production. Animal husbandry plays an important role in the development of the rural economy.

47. This Indian EV maker to set up new plant in Maharashtra, already has two in Tamil Nadu
- Ather Energy plans to establish a new manufacturing plant in Bidkin, Maharashtra, to manufacture electric two-wheelers and battery packs.
- Ather plans to expand its manufacturing operations in India, with the Aurangabad facility becoming its third, following its existing two facilities in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
- While the Hosur facilities will continue to produce battery packs and vehicles, the Aurangabad unit will allow Ather to rationalise logistic costs and fasten the delivery of finished products to customers.
- According to data from the industry body Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), Ather's retail sales increased 41.53% to 108,889 units in FY24 from 76,939 units in FY23.

48. Odisha govt approves renewable energy projects worth Rs 903 Cr
- Odisha government approves Rs 903.41 crore in renewable energy investment proposals, aiming to meet 10 GW by 2030, according to the Energy Department's single window committee.
- HPCL Renewable & Green Energy Ltd has been approved for a 48-MW wind energy project in Umerkote, Nabarangpur, while ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd has been granted permission for a 49.5-MW project in Astaranga, Puri.
- The Energy Department's SWC has approved investment proposals totaling Rs 3,723.57 crore for two wind energy projects with a capacity of 499.48 MW.

49. CM lays foundation stone of 10 MW solar power project at Aghlor in Kutlehar constituency
- Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a 10 MW solar power project in Una district, covering 19 hectares and expected to be completed within three months.
- A solar plant is set to generate Rs 8 crore annually, producing 22.73 million units of power and reducing 791 tonnes of carbon emissions.
- The chief minister announced the completion of the second solar power project in Una district, following the successful 32 MW Pekhubela project, which generated Rs 20 crore in just six months.
- The state government has partnered with Oil India Company to produce green hydrogen, emphasizing solar energy and encouraging its use in the private sector.

50. High-speed expendable aerial target 'ABHYAS' successfully completes development trials
- DRDO completed six development trials of 'ABHYAS', a High Speed Expendable Aerial Target, demonstrating system reliability after 10 trials from the Integrated Test Range in Odisha.
- ABHYAS has successfully completed 10 development trials, demonstrating the system's reliability, according to a statement.
- The trials were carried out with improved Radar Cross Section, Visual and Infrared augmentation systems. During the trials, various mission objectives covering safe release of booster, launcher clearance, and endurance performance were successfully validated, it said.
- ABHYAS, designed by DRDO's Aeronautical Development Establishment in Bengaluru and developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Larsen & Toubro, offers a realistic threat scenario for weapon systems practice.
