81. L&T bags order to construct 185MW Solar PV Plant with 254MWh storage in Bihar
- Larsen & Toubro's Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured a domestic order to construct a 185MW Solar PV Plant coupled with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of 254MWh capacity in Bihar.
- The Solar PV plant in Kajra, Lakshisarai district, along with the BESS, aims to improve grid stability by storing and releasing solar energy. Bihar is set to enhance its renewable energy capacity as part of its strategy to combat climate change and meet increasing energy demands.

83. Assam CM announces Rs 51 crore project to transform Guwahati District Library
- Assam Chief Minister has announced that the District Library in Guwahati will undergo a major transformation and be upgraded into a B-G-6 building through a Rs 51 crore project.
- The new library will feature four library floors, three general study areas, a book store, cafeteria, parking facilities and other amenities for readers and visitors.
- The proposed project showing the entire structure of the library, as well as the exterior, further informing that the proposal for the District Library at Ambari, Guwahati has been facilitated.

84. Assam government simplifies college admission process by accepting ration cards for Fee Waiver Scheme
- Assam government, on June 24, announced a significant change in the admission process for higher education institutions across the state.
- Students eligible for the Fee Waiver Scheme can now submit their family ration card instead of an income certificate when applying to government and provincialised colleges, as well as state universities.
- Education Minister confirmed this policy shift, which aims to streamline the admission process for the First Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).
- Education Minister further stated that 57,469 students have been admitted to the FYUGP in government and provincialised colleges, as well as state universities under the fee waiver scheme. Additional 50,000 students are expected to benefit from the scheme.
- In last 3 years, a total of ₹427.51 crores have been released to Colleges and Universities as Fee Waiver reimbursement, and 10 lakh 95 thousand students have benefited from the scheme.

85. MD JJM hands over Seer Jageer water supply scheme to people
- Mission Director (MD) Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), on 23 June 2024, officially handed over the Seer Jageer Water Supply Scheme (WSS) to the people of the area.

87. Chhattisgarh CM launches campaign to protect greenery around Bastar's religious sites
- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister has launched a drive to protect greenery around Bastar's religious sites. The state government will launch a special tree-planting campaign at the sacred sites, with the active involvement of local tribal communities.
- It's worth noting that tribal communities and other traditional forest dwellers hold immense faith in water, forests, land, and their places of worship. Trees around the Dev Gudi and Mata Gudi sites have significance as deities. There is a tradition of preserving the trees and plants located at these faith centres.
- In the plantation drive, trees will be planted at approximately 7,055 Devgudi-Matagudi sites and 3,455 sites having forest rights recognition certificates across the Bastar region, covering a total area of 2,607.200 hectares. Besides Devgudi and Matagudi, trees will also be planted around ancient monuments and other significant sites.
- The initiative will include fruit-bearing and shade-providing plants such as neem, mango, jamun, karji, and amaltas, along with other species suggested by the villagers.

88. ISRO successfully conducts 3rd and final landing experiment of Reusable Launch Vehicle ‘Pushpak’
- ISRO successfully completed its third landing experiment of the 'Pushpak' Reusable Launch Vehicle at the Aeronautical Test Range in Karnataka's Chitradurga.
- ISRO successfully replicated a space vehicle's landing approach, interface, and high-speed conditions, demonstrating proficiency in Reusable Launch Vehicle development and authenticating a sophisticated guidance algorithm for future Orbital Re-entry Missions.

89. Mazagon Dock in advanced talks with Indian Navy for Rs 35,000-cr submarine deal
- Mazagaon Dockyard is in talks for a Rs 35,000-crore deal with the Indian Navy to acquire three additional Kalvari-class submarines, reportedly to enhance India's underwater strength and enable them to travel further than their predecessors.
- Mazagon has submitted a detailed bid for a defence ministry contract, aiming for at least 60% indigenous content, with a significant portion going to Indian suppliers and MSME sectors.
- The deal, valued at around Rs 35,000 crore, is expected to create 5,000 jobs and facilitate significant technology transfer for MDL's future submarine design, development, and manufacturing.
- Mazagon is constructing the Kalvari class of submarines under Project 75 with France's support, with the final one expected by year-end and additional submarines proposed within six years.

90. Indian Air Force orders six made-in-India Tapas surveillance drones from Centre
- The Indian Air Force has proposed purchasing 10 made-in-India Tapas drones, with six for the Air Force and four for the Navy, to enhance defence surveillance capabilities. The six indigenous Tapas drones would help it improve unmanned surveillance on both the northern and western fronts
- Tapas drones, developed by Defence R&D, are expected to be manufactured by a consortium of Bharat Electronics and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, despite not meeting defence forces' requirements.
- The Indian Navy plans to use Tapas for maritime surveillance, while the Indian Air Force supports Make in India in Defence, placing orders for 180 LCA Mark 1A and 156 LCH attack choppers.
- Indian defence forces tested Tapas drones, reaching 28,000 feet and flying 18 hours. Consortium plans faster deliveries, first bird ready within 24 months.
