111. Web3Assam and AIIDC Sign MoU to Boost Assam’s Digital Economy and Innovation Ecosystem
- In a significant move to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, Web3Assam has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (AIIDC). Through the MoU, Web3Assam will support the Assam Startup incubatees to be future ready.
- The MoU underscores the commitment of both the Assam government and Web3Assam to support the emerging technology ecosystem in Assam. Web3Assam has extensive experience in grassroots education, having conducted over 50 seminars, workshops, and meetups across various educational institutions in the North Eastern Region.
- Web3Assam aims to broaden its impact by offering educational services that support educational institutions integrate Web3 into their curricula, corporate entities aiming to upskill their workforce and leverage the technology, and government bodies looking to scale their technological capabilities.

112. Nagaland releases first District Domestic Product report
- Nagaland became the first state among the North Eastern states to release a report on the District Domestic Product (DDP). The necessity of reliable socio-economic data to achieve the Prime Minister's vision of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India).
- Advisor for Economics & Statistics and IT & C, H. Sethrongkyu Sangtam, unveiled the inaugural report during a state-level workshop aimed at promoting the User Producer Interface on Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and District Domestic Product (DDP) at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima.
- The DDP report will help address inter-district economic disparities and promote balanced regional development. According to the report, Dimapur district boasts the largest economy with a Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) of Rs 5,43,611 lakh for 2019-20, while Longleng has the smallest with Rs 62,112 lakh.
- Dimapur also has the highest per capita income at Rs 1,54,002, compared to Mon's Rs 77,738, the lowest among the districts. Sangtam urged officers and staff to work diligently towards greater economic prosperity and social inclusivity.

113. ONGC and IOCL sign MoU for new LNG Plant at Hatta, Vindhyan Basin upgraded
- ONGC and IndianOil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a small-scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant near the Hatta Gas Field in the Vindhyan Basin, upgrading the basin from a Category II to a Category I status.
- The Hatta LNG plant will employ advanced technology to produce LNG, aiming to reduce carbon emissions significantly and support India's climate change mitigation goals.
- ONGC has submitted a Field Development Plan to the DGH, marking a significant step in five decades of exploration efforts at the Hatta field.
- Officials announced a non-binding MoU for a Technology Demonstration Small Scale LNG plant in Hatta, Madhya Pradesh, aiming for sustainable future and energy self-sufficiency.

114. Lockheed considers India unit amid 3-firm race to bag cargo aircraft deal
- Indian Air Force seeks new MTA aircraft, with US aerospace firm Lockheed Martin exploring India manufacturing for C-130J, competing with global plane makers Airbus and Embraer for multi-billion-dollar order.
- Airbus and Tata Advanced Systems Limited are collaborating on a ₹21,935-crore project to modernize India's transport fleet with 56 C-295 aircraft, including eight Embraer jets.
- The three-cornered contest to equip IAF with 40 to 80 aircraft is in line with the government’s Make in India initiative to boost self-reliance in the defence manufacturing sector. IAF is looking for a new transport aircraft in the 18 to 30-tonne cargo-carrying capacity to meet its growing airlift needs.
- Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited, based in Hyderabad, is the global supplier of C-130J tail assemblies, with over 220 delivered since 2010. These are installed on US-produced C-130Js.

115. EV startup River, battery firm IBC to invest in rural Bengaluru district
- River, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup, plans to invest Rs 400 crore in Hoskote, Bengaluru, to expand manufacturing, R&D, and testing facilities.
- Backed by marquee international investors like Yamaha Motor Co, Toyota Ventures, Lowercarbon Capital, Al-Futtaim Automotive, and Maniv Mobility, River has cumulatively raised up to $ 68 million (Rs 564 crore).
- River, a Karnataka-based electric mobility company, raised $40 million in a Series B round and is set to invest Rs 390 crore in manufacturing primary cells and batteries.
- River and IBC are among 64 projects worth over Rs 3587 crore approved by the single-window committee, which are expected to create 13,896 jobs.

116. ‘Moradabad Master Plan’: Mega MSME park, boost to brass exports, handicraft village by 2031
- Moradabad, known as the Brass City, is set for extensive development under a master plan by Chief Minister aiming to turn it into a vibrant economic hub and boost brass handicraft export.
- Moradabad Master Plan 2031 proposes a brass industry artisans' handicraft village and a mega MSME park, along with measures to accelerate industrial development through industrial and logistic parks.
- The city's master plan anticipates a population growth of 16,66,404 by 2031, aiming to establish a robust economic foundation and improve socio-cultural and physical infrastructure.
- Proposals for Moradabad include constructing a Sports City, AYUSH park, sugarcane processing cluster, cattle colony, fish market, and transport hub, with short-term, medium-term, and long-term projects worth ₹18,017 crore, 13,027 crore, and 10,749 crore respectively.
- The Moradabad Master Plan 2031 aims to enhance traffic, propose a 60-meter-wide ring road and 36-meter-wide industrial corridor, and plans for a handicraft village, MSME cluster, industrial logistic park, Knowledge City, and Medicine, along with a state university, skill development center, and township.

117. Centre approves energy transmission schemes worth Rs 13,595 crore to evacuate power from Rajasthan, Karnataka
- The Government of India on June 22 approved new Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) schemes to evacuate 9 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan and Karnataka.
- The government plans to implement Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) schemes for 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030, with 200 GW already connected.
- Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) plans to evacuate 4.5 GW of RE power from the state, including 1 GW from Fatehgarh, 2.5 GW from Barmer, and 1 GW from Nagaur.
- Power transfer to Uttar Pradesh' Mainpuri Region, Fatehpur, and Orai, costing Rs 12,241 crore, and 4.5 GW evacuation from Karnataka's Koppal and Gadag area, Rs 1,354 crore, completed in two years.

118. Himachal Pradesh Steps Into The Sustainable Future With 32 MW Solar Power Inauguration
- Himachal Pradesh is set to become the first green energy state in India, with a 32 MW Pekhubela solar power project, innaurated by CM, built on 49 hectares at a cost Rs 220 crore, in Una district and a target of 500 MW solar power plant installation.
- HPPCL has allocated 47 MW for three solar projects, with one completed and the foundation stone laid by CM on December 2, 2023. The plant started power generation on 15 April this year 2024.
- The solar project in Pekhubela, India, involving 82,656 modules, is projected to generate 6.61 crore units of electricity annually and generate Rs 19.17 crore in revenue for the state.

119. UP village kids forced ISRO to bring space lab. Now they use drones, building weather station
- A 14-year-old from Hasudi Ausanpur village, Uttar Pradesh, is among 30 students graduating from India's first rural space laboratory. They're now working on building a local weather station and using drones for flood prediction.
- A shy teenager from Siddharthnagar, a least developed district, is knowledgeable about rockets, drones, aeroplanes, satellite designs, and telescope building.
- In 2019, village pradhan Dilip Tripathi discovered India's space programme through a Bollywood movie, Mission Mangal. He discovered Vyomika Space Academy, an ISRO-backed educational platform, which provides resources for early science and space education. Tripathi's idea inspired children to learn more.
- Avantika-a student, plans to establish a weather forecasting center for the village, allowing for early warnings, unlike the district-based forecasts issued by the Indian Meteorological Department.

120. Townships around ports, Rs 5000 crore scheme for Make in India inland vessels in works
- The Shipping Ministry is developing a township policy to revitalize areas around major ports, inviting private players to bid for real estate development, starting with key ports in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Vishakapatnam.
- A Rs 5,000-crore package is being prepared under a new viability gap funding scheme to support the construction of inland vessels and sea-bound vessels, including cruise ships.
- As part of the government’s 100-day agenda, there is a significant push to introduce more vessels powered by cleaner fuels, such as electric and hydrogen, under the Harit Nauka scheme.
- The centre is keen to build stakeholder confidence in the maritime sector, promoting a transition to greener and cleaner fuels, as highlighted in the Harit Nauka - Inland Vessels Green Transition Guidelines published on January 8, 2024.
- India's fleet of 1,520 vessels, with a gross tonnage of 13.69 million, increased from 1,491 vessels in 2022 to 12,99 million GT, with a projected marginal growth to around 1,530 vessels by December 2023.
