19301. India starts exporting organic products to Germany
- In a boost to exports of organic products, a consignment of 10.2 MT of value added products of organically certified gluten free jackfruit powder & retort packed jackfruit cubes were exported to Germany from Bengaluru via sea route.
- The consignment has been processed in the pack house owned by Phalada Agro Research Foundations (PARF), Bengaluru. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) registered PARF represents a group of 1500 farmers with a wide coverage of around 12,000 acres farms.
- These farmers grow medicinal and aromatic herbs, coconut, jackfruit, mango puree products, spices and coffee.

19302. India set to export rice to the Philippines after reduction of import duty to 35%
- India’s rice exporters are gearing up to ship the grain to the Philippines from next month as the Southeast Asian nation has reduced the import duty on rice being shipped from India to 35% from 50%.
- Philippines is the second-largest importer of the commodity in the world. In 2020-21, India’s rice exports almost doubled to an all-time high of 17.7 metric tonnes from 9.5 metric tonne in the previous financial year.
- There was an almost 4% increase in basmati exports to 4.45 metric tonnes and a 160% surge in non-basmati rice exports to 13.09 metric tonnes, according to data with Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority.

19303. India doubled engineering exports to China in FY21 at $4.8 billion
- India’s engineering exports to 23 out of 25 key markets, including US, China, Germany and Italy showed positive year-on-year growth in the first month of FY21
- Out of 32 engineering goods which saw positive growth, exports of iron and steel grew 210% in April this year compared to last year.
- The non-ferrous segment which includes aluminium, zinc, nickel, lead, tin and other products grew by 110% during the period.

19304. Tata records highest ever EV sales in India, Nexon become best-selling SUV
- Tata Motors sold more than 2,000 units of Nexon and Tigor EVs in December 2021, proving that electric vehicles are becoming more popular as more and more individuals switch to greener and cleaner alternatives.
- Tata Nexon became the best-selling SUV of India in December 2021, outnumbering some the prominent names from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai.
- Tata Motors, the homegrown electric car manufacturer, saw 439 percent growth in sales of its electric cars over the past year. In December 2020, 418 units were sold compared to 2,255 last month. Overcoming the 2,000-unit sales mark is a significant milestone for Tata EVs. Tata sold 1,751 electric cars in November 2021, which means that in December 2021, they grew by 29 per cent.

19305. New Delhi expected to get its first electric bus in February: all you need to know about election vehicle
- The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will soon welcome a fleet of electric buses in the national capital. After a considerable wait period, New Delhi will see the first prototype of an electric bus soon.
- These buses arrived on Sunday (2 December) and are currently being tested by the vehicle manufacturer JBM Auto Limited and the state transport department. DTC is procuring 300 e-buses whose delivery was due in November last year owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
- A total of 2,300 electric buses are in the pipeline which will cater the people of the city. Out of these, 1,300 will be used by DTC and the other 1,000 will function under the cluster scheme. However, it will take at least six months before the cluster electric buses are introduced.

19307. How AI-based solar system inspector AirProbe was built, got acquired
- Founded in 2017 by Aditya Bhat, Kaustubh Karnataki and Ganesh Shankar, Bengaluru-based AirProbe uses AI for solar system inspections. It was recently acquired by US-based intelligent aerial imaging company DroneBase.
- Ganesh took up the problem statement of the solar panel efficiency and decided to solve it, co-founding a new company called 14 Weeks Technologies or 14W Technologies, which they later called AirProbe. AirProbe was recently acquired by US-based intelligent aerial imaging company DroneBase for an undisclosed amount.
- From January 2019, the team at AirProbe has been aiming to scale by automation in drone operation, data analysis and developing a digital portal to generate reports instead of sending these files to clients in PDF formats. This also enabled stakeholders to have a transparent way to take corrective measures.

19308. ‘पंचम पूरीवाला’: 170 साल पहले स्टेशन पर पूरियां बेचकर, बनाया मुंबई का सबसे फेमस ब्रांड
- मुंबई के मशहूर VT (हाल में CST) स्टेशन के पास तक़रीबन 170 साल पहले, आगरा से आकर एक शख्स ने पूरी बेचना शुरू किया था। लोगों को इनकी पूरियां इतनी पसंद आयी कि आज परिवार की छठी पीढ़ी भी इसी काम से जुड़ी है।
- ‘पंचम पूरीवाला’, पहले एक छोटा सा स्टॉल हुआ करता था। जहां की पूरी का स्वाद महात्मा गाँधी से लेकर राजेश खन्ना ने भी चखा है।

19309. Tortured as a Child Labourer, He Is Now Helping Draft India’s Anti-trafficking Bill
- Khem Lal Khaterji was once a child labourer in Uttar Pradesh, who was abused and tortured. Today, his organisation SAANS (Shramik Adhikar Aur Nyaya Sangathan) is rescuing others from the same plight.
- Khem Lal Khaterji was all of six when he began his life as a child labourer. was forced to break coal and pack mud into brick moulds. At 13, Khem Lal began skipping work to attend school and while it worked for some time, when the contractor got wind of this, all hell broke loose.
- The contractor heated up a large spoon and stuck it on my cheek. I remember howling in pain begging him to let me go. But he didn’t. This went on for three long years until Khem Lal and his family were finally rescued by an NGO working in that area. I saw what humane treatment was like only after we were rescued by the NGO workers. We were sent back to our village and baba used the relief funds to buy a toffee making machine, while I worked hard and made it to college

19310. India conducts successful flight tests of indigenously-developed smart anti-airfield weapon
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force on Wednesday jointly conducted two flight tests of an indigenously developed smart anti-airfield weapon in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer.
- Two different configurations of the weapon based on satellite navigation and electro-optical sensors have been successfully tested.
- Electro-optical seeker-based flight test of this class of bomb has been conducted for the first time in the country. The electro-optic sensor has been developed indigenously.
