20191. Vaccination drive for age group of 15 to 18 years begins in Meghalaya
- Joining the rest of the nation, the vaccination drive for the age group of 15 to 18 years began in Meghalaya after it was launched by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong at Rynjah State Dispensary in Shillong, East Khasi Hills district.
- During the function, he requested parents to get their wards vaccinated. He further informed that dedicated centres are being created in every Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) for the vaccination drive. He added that the government is focusing on the age group of 15-18 years that makes up about 2.6 lakhs population in.
- Meanwhile, the medical authorities of West Garo Hills District also launched the vaccinations of teenagers aged from 15-18 years against covid-19 , at Matchakolgre Upper Primary School, Tura. The vaccination drive was also conducted in other district headquarters of the State.
20192. Handloom expo underway
- The textile & handicraft department is conducting a handloom expo, sponsored by the union handlooms development commissioner, in Tawang from 3-9 March.
- The expo, themed ‘My handloom, my pride’, is being organised by the Arunachal Pradesh Handloom and Handicraft Development Society, under the National Handloom Development Programme.
- Tawang ADC Lobsang Tsering visited the expo and interacted with the weavers and artisans. Stating that Mahatma Gandhi also always encouraged handloom, he said that “we should be proud that we have inherited such beautiful art from our ancestors and must preserve our traditional practice of weaving and other handicrafts and encourage our local weavers and artisans by buying these local products.”

20193. Over 178 crore 55 lakh doses of COVID vaccines administered under nationwide vaccination drive so far
- Over 178 crore 55 lakh doses of COVID vaccines have been administered in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive so far. The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry today said, more than 24 lakh 62 thousand Covid vaccine doses were administered to the eligible beneficiaries.
- The country reported five thousand 921 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. Currently, India’s active caseload stands at 63 thousand 878. The Union Health Ministry said, more than 11 thousand Covid patients have recovered during the last 24 hours and the national recovery rate stands at 98.65 percent. More than four crore 23 lakh patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far.
- The Ministry said, more than 77 crore 19 lakh COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far. More than nine lakh 40 thousand Covid test have been conducted in the last 24 hour.
20194. Meghalaya to have pay App for ASHA: Health Minister James Sangma.
- The Meghalaya Government will soon have an 'ASHA' and 'ASHA Facilitators' payment application.
- We have acknowledged that there is a delay in these incentives reaching in time to the ASHA workers. Hence, we had promised during last year that we will develop an efficient online claims and payment mechanism, thereby this delay is reduced drastically," State Health Minister James Sangma said.
- The Health Minister, while replying to a calling attention notice, informed the House that the sole purpose of developing the application is to ease the payment process of ASHA incentives and ensure timely disbursement of the same. He also said that the application will also be an important support tool for programme officers at all level as it will enable regular monitoring and tracking of ASHA payment and ensure minimum time lag in payments.
- The Government has released a total of Rs 151 crore in the last four years for ASHA for various incentive purposes, including the pending backlogs of erstwhile Meghalaya ASHA Benefit Scheme (MABS) and Meghalaya Maternity Benefit Scheme (MMBS).

20195. Food Processing Training For 20 Migrant Workers Organized In Mizoram
- A closing ceremony for Food Processing Training was held today under Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) in partnership with Mizoram Food Processing Research and Training Centre at Conference Hall of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics.
- Financed by the North Eastern Council (NEC), this programme was organized for 20 migrant workers.The state Planning department enabled programmes to rehabilitate these Mizo youngsters after collecting extensive data. With funding from the NEC, youth rehabilitation and training event in tourism, food processing, piggery, and baking were launched.
- Mizoram Youth Commission’s major goal is to provide unskilled youths with skills and a source of income.Around 20 Mizo youths were educated for a week at the Mizoram Food Processing and Research Training Centre in the processing and preservation of jams, juices, pickles, and chips, as well as the packaging process.

20196. Mizoram : Indian Institute of Packaging Hosts Design Development & Standardization Training Programme
- The Indian Institute of Packaging today organized a one-day capacity training programme on packaging for export of agri-food, handloom and handicraft products of Mizoram.
- The Indian Institute of Packaging is playing a great role in the country make awareness about the importance of packaging and also to promote the export market, by way of innovative package design and development and standardization.
- The Institute has been involved in many activities like testing and quality certification, training and education, consultancy services on packaging standardization, formulation of packaging specification, cost reduction and so on.
- The Institute has been closely linked to International bodies like World packaging Organization (WPO), Asian Packaging Federation (APF), International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva and has been working for the overall growth and development of packaging globally.

20197. ‘No Doctor Could Diagnose My Disorder; Was 9 When I Started Pain Killers’
- Sayomdeb Mukherjee has a rare genetic disorder called Dopamine-responsive dystonia (DRD) that was discovered 15 years after he was born. But that didn’t stop him from achieving his dreams.
- Den was born with a rare genetic disorder called Dopamine-responsive dystonia (DRD) also known as Segawa syndrome (SS). It was at the age of five when he experienced involuntary muscle contractions and uncontrolled movements.
- DRD was first discovered by Dr Segawa from Japan between 1995 and 2005. Den was diagnosed by the doctor treating his nephew. “When we finally identified it, we were reluctant to try the medications as so far nothing had helped. Every time we pinned our hopes on a development we were disappointed. We prayed for a miracle and it worked. My condition improved significantly. My muscles relaxed, the stiffness reduced and body pains lessened,” he adds. Den and his family accepted the fact that now he could talk. Adapting to the new situation took time and he found himself with no purpose.
- He channeled all his anger and frustration towards writing and wrote several “trash articles and stories” for nearly two years. Seeing his writing, his mentor at the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy (IICP) in Kolkata, where he did his schooling, allowed him to do a presentation at a national conference when he was 20.
- Joydeep Banerjee, the then Station Programming Head of 91.9 Friends FM, offered Den his show ‘Haal Chhero Nah Bondhu’ (Never Give Up – Dear Friend)’ in 2011. He was awarded the Radio Excellence Award and Best Bengali Radio Jockey “I had no experience of speaking in front of a mic and every time I went to the show, it felt like it was my last. But I have done some 820 shows in five years,” he says. Post his show, he wrote two books — ‘52 Steps’ on his radio experience and ‘Memoirs of Time’, his autobiography.
- In 2015, he got an opportunity to act in a movie directed by Rupam Sarmah. The movie ‘One Little Finger’ (2019) had around 80 disabled actors. Den played the lead character of an RJ. The movie premiered at Cannes and won 33 awards in different festivals. He also won the best actor award at the Cincinnati film festival.
20198. कृषि निर्यात में 23 फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी, अप्रैल से जनवरी तक 19.71 अरब डॉलर का हुआ निर्यात
- अप्रैल 2021 से जनवरी 2022 के दौरान सबसे अधिक चावल का निर्यात हुआ है। यह 13 फ़ीसदी बढ़कर 7.7 अरब डॉलर का हो गया। गेहूं के निर्यात में 387 फ़ीसदी की वृद्धि हुई है इसका निर्यात 35.8 करोड़ डॉलर से बढ़कर 174.2 करोड़ डॉलर हो गया
- इसी तरह मीट और डेयरी तथा पोल्ट्री उत्पादों के निर्यात में 13 फ़ीसदी, फल और सब्जियों के निर्यात में 16 फ़ीसदी, काजू में 11 फ़ीसदी अन्य अनाजों के निर्यात में 65 फ़ीसदी की वृद्धि हुई है।
- एपीडा कृषि निर्यात नीति लागू करने के लिए जिन राज्यों के साथ मिलकर काम कर रहा है उनमें महाराष्ट्र, उत्तर प्रदेश, केरल, तमिलनाडु, असम, पंजाब, गुजरात और राजस्थान समेत 18 राज्य शामिल हैं।

20199. रूस-यूक्रेन युद्ध का असर: एमएसपी के ऊपर गेहूं का भाव, रतलाम में 3000 रुपए प्रति कुंटल तक बिका गेहूं
- रुस-यूक्रेन युद्ध के बाद विश्व बाजार में भारत के गेहूं की मांग बढ़ गई है, जिसके चलते देश की कई मंडियों में गेहूं एमएसपी से 200 से 500 रुपए ऊपर बिक रहा है। 7 march 2022 को मध्य प्रदेश की रतलाम मंडी में ए ग्रेड गेहूं 3000 रुपए कुंटल बिका, जबकि पिछले एक हफ्ते से मंदसौर मंडी में भी 2200 से 2400 रुपए कुंटल का रेट चल रहा है।
- मध्य प्रदेश में रतलाम जिले के किसान महिपाल सिंह सोनगरा ने कहा, "सोमवार को 22 कुंटल गेहूं हमने 3000 में बेचा जबकि, शनिवार को हमें 50 कुंटल गेहूं का 2800 का रेट मिला था। इससे एक दिन पहले हमारे चाचा को 2771 रुपए का रेट मिला था।
- भारत का निर्यात इस वित्तीय वर्ष के आखिर तक रिकॉर्ड 7 मिलियन टन तक पहुंच सकता है और अगले साल इससे भी आगे। डिमांड इसलिए भी बढ़ी है, क्योंकि यूक्रेन और रुस का गेहूं पश्चिमी एशियाई देशों (तुर्की, सीरिया, ओमान, लेबनान, सऊदी अरब) जाता था और वहां अप्रैल में रमजान हैं। इसलिए गेहूं की खरीद तेज है। अब रुस और यूक्रेन में माल नहीं आ पा रहा तो भारत से उसकी भरपाई हो रही है

20200. Exports may reach $410 billion this fiscal: Piyush Goyal
- India's exports are likely to reach around $410 billion this fiscal irrespective of geopolitical disturbances,
- The country's merchandise exports during April-February 2022 stood at $374.05 billion, an increase of 45.80 per cent over $256.55 billion in the year-ago period.
- The minister also urged the industry to consider three points -- exploring ways to fully utilise free trade agreements implemented by India; instilling a feeling of pride for Made In India products; and focusing on development requirements of aspirational districts or tier 2 and 3 cities.
