20161. All Govt schools in Ladakh get affiliated to CBSE
- The School Education Department, UT Ladakh got affiliated to the Central Board of School Education. Previously the Education Department was affiliated to the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education.
- The move will be beneficial for the students of Ladakh, as their participation at national level examinations will increase, the NCERT books which are prepared after a lot of research, which lays a strong foundation in students and gives them an edge when preparing for competitive exams.
- An online orientation programme was organized by CBSE headquarter in New Delhi, for the Headmasters and School Principals of Ladakh. In the webinar, the participants were briefed about the affiliation and the examination process; academic teaching and learning process, and Information Technology interventions. This year, 40 teachers from Ladakh will be sent to Delhi to attend a three- day, Training of Teachers programme (TOT).
20162. Police organises programme on drug abuse, communal harmony
- District organized a programme on drug abuse and communal harmony. Several political, social activists, large number of civil society members, students, drivers, cleaners, conductors and others witnessed the event along with officers and officials from district administration and police.
- The audience was made aware about ill effects of drug abuse and the youths were appealed to become brand ambassadors against drug abuse in society and become symbol of communal harmony.
- Chairman DDC Reasi, Saraf Singh Nag was chief guest on the occasion and he lauded performance of the artists in the event and conveyed that the message flashed by them should be sent to every nook and corner to eradicate the menace of drug addiction from the society.
20163. Horticulture: A powerful force driving J&K’s economy
- Horticulture is a powerful force that drives the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. The sector contributes eight percent to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of J&K. According to the figures, 7.5 lakh families of around 35 lakh souls are associated with this sector.

20164. Def Min moves Cabinet to set up independent weapon testing-certification agency
- The ”Atmanirbharta” model of PM Modi is crucial for a country that has legitimate ambitions and capability for the global high table, but will the setting up of a nodal body of testing and certification be able to herald a new era in Indian defence sector
- As a first major step towards “Atmanirbharta” vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Defence Ministry has approached the Union Cabinet to green light setting up of an independent nodal umbrella body to meet the wide-ranging testing and certification requirements of weapon systems developed and manufactured by Indian private sector.
- While the independent testing and certification body was envisaged in the Union Budget this year, the move is a huge step towards decoupling the Indian private defence sector industry from the clutches of the humongous veto exercising military bureaucracy on the Raisina Hill.
20165. Petascale supercomputer 'PARAM Ganga' installed at IIT Roorkee
- The National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) has deployed 'PARAM Ganga', a supercomputer at IIT Roorkee, with a supercomputing capacity of 1.66 Petaflops.
- The Mission plans to build and deploy 24 facilities with cumulative compute power of more than 64 Petaflops. Till now, C-DAC has deployed 11 systems at IISc, IITs, IISER Pune, JNCASR, NABI-Mohali and C-DAC under NSM Phase-1 and Phase-2 with a cumulative compute power of more than 20 Petaflops.
- The availability of PARAM Ganga will accelerate the research and development activities in multidisciplinary domains of science and engineering with a focus to provide computational power to user community of IIT Roorkee and neighbouring academic institutions

20166. Zypp Electric to hire and train 3,000 Women as Delivery Partners in 2022
- Zypp Electric, one of India’s leading EV logistics companies, has announced that the company plans to expand its driver-partner community to 25,000 by the end of 2022.
- Zypp Electric believes that its new delivery partners will empower Zypp to enhance sustainable delivery capabilities within the company and offer more brands the choice to partner with them for Mission Zero Emission.
- The company currently has 3,000 delivery riders on the road, and with the ever-growing last-mile delivery market and demand, it plans to ramp up its delivery partner ecosystem. Moreover, the company is also working on a long-term goal to have at least 50 per cent of the total employee strength to be women.

20167. TCS plans re-structuring; aims to achieve $50 bn revenue by 2030
- IT major TCS is planning to revamp the organisation structure to align with customers more closely, as it aims to achieve USD 50 billion (about Rs 3.89 lakh crore) revenue by 2030, a source aware of the development said .
- The company had garnered USD 25 billion in revenue in 2021. With this new structure, TCS plans to focus on the customer journey, starting from acquisition incubation, growth and transformation.
- In the third quarter ended December 2021, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had posted a 12.2 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 9,769 crore. The country’s largest software services firm had logged a net profit of Rs 8,701 crore in the year-ago period.

- The Delhi government's EV cell will support and accelerate the implementation of the electric vehicle policy through facilitating disbursement of demand incentives and charging stations.

20170. MG Motor India looking to sell 30,000 EVs in India in 2023
- MG Motor India has stated that his firm plans to sell 30,000 electric vehicles in the country by next year.
- The company plans to sell its full allocation of 6,000 ZS EVs in India in 2022. This will increase to 10,000 units in 2023 with the supply constraints
- The company is looking to go the Tata Motors way in this regard and is looking to attract private equity investment in this new firm. The investment is said to be to the tune of Rs 2,650-3,800 crore.
