- Arunachal Pradesh has emerged 'number one' state in the entire Northeast in implementation of e-Office initiative, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said.
- Arunachal has emerged as the number one state in the entire Northeast in regards to implementation of e-Office initiative," he informed while taking part in the discussion on motion of thanks to the Governor's address in the State Assembly.
- Khandu said that since the roll out of the IT-enabled initiative, more than 9.89 lakh e-files have been moved till date. Congratulating all stakeholders including ministers and bureaucrats for this feat, he said e-Office quite helped in promoting transparency.

19972. Govt working to make North East India"s new growth engine: DONER Minister
- The government is working towards making the North East India"s new engine of growth and there has been remarkable development of the region under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union minister G Kishan Reddy told the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday 15th March.
- Minister said the Centre has worked on holistic development of the region since 2014 by focusing on bringing peace, improving infrastructure and connectivity through enhanced budgetary support. 19973. Infiltration in J&K has come down from 4089 in 2010 to 77 in 2021: Minister
- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh reiterated that abrogation of article 370 has benefitted Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Speaking in the Lok Sabha on the budgetary grants to the Union Territory, Dr Singh stressed that abrogation of 370 has opened doors for the implementation of Prevention of Corruption Act, reservation for Scheduled Castes and Tribes, Child marriage act and anti dowry act among others.
- He informed that 50,000 crore investment has come into the Union Territory and 10,000 crore rupees is directly deposited into the bank accounts of the Panchayats to take up local development. Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted that infiltration has come down from 4089 in 2010 to 77 in last year.
19974. ‘Real development’ taking place in J&K post abrogation of 370: Sitharaman
- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday 14th Mar gave a fierce rebuttal to all critics of the Modi Government’s move to remove Article 370 in J&K and stated that ‘real’ development has taken place post the abrogation and also rejected any notion that there was ‘fake normalcy’ in the erstwhile state.
- Speaking in the Lok Sabha on the conclusion of the discussion on the demand for grants and budget for the Union Territory, Sitharaman said that 22 MPs had participated in the budget discussion in the house. She said that post removal of Article 370, which gave special powers to the erstwhile state, 890 central laws are now applicable to J&K.
- She said that earlier the State’s people would get members of the Valmiki community to do menial chores in the State, but denied them the rights that members of the community got in the rest of the country. 19975. Navin grants Rs 1 cr for lavender cultivation in Chenab Valley
- Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, today on 15th Mar announced a grant of Rs 1 crore for undertaking lavender cultivation in twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar.
- He fixed a target for officers of the department to cultivate about 10000 kanal of land under cultivation of this cash crop.
- Principal Secretary was speaking virtually to participants of the workshop organized on the scope of “Lavender Cultivation its Viability and Entrepreneurship” in Doda and Kishtwar by J&K Advisory Board for Development of Kisans in collaboration with Department of Agriculture and Floriculture.

19976. Kupwara is militancy free, most peaceful in Kashmir: GOC
- General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lieutenant General D P Pandey today said that as of now and especially for the past few years, the Kupwara district bordering Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is militancy free and the most peaceful area of the Valley.
- GOC said people of Kupwara have rejected the violence and are enjoying peace. “Kupwara was the worst hit by militancy and violence. But today, and for the past few years, the district is peaceful and people are living in a peaceful atmosphere as they have rejected the violence.
- Operations are being carried out wherever we get inputs of militants hiding but it was the collective responsibility of the society to prevent killings of security forces personnel who come to their homes on leave and also to stop youth from treading the wrong path,” he added.
19977. J-K: Indian Army organizes drug awareness camp in Baramulla
- To address and eradicate the issue of increasing drug trafficking and addiction among the local youths, a free lecture was organized as part of a drugs awareness camp by the Uplona Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of the Indian Army in collaboration with the district development commissioner (DDC), anti-drugs team, Kandbagh, in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla
- According to a statement issued by the Indian Army on Monday, the locals were told about the issues of drug crimes, medical issues, and the harm it has caused to the community and humanity at the lecture.
- As per the Indian Army, a small skit was also organized by DDC Anti-drug teams Kandbagh to make people understand the gravity of the situation. A total of 46 individuals attended the event including the local panch, sarpanch besides other dignitaries.
19978. Centre tables ₹1,13,000 cr J&K budget; Infra, employment, water supply key focus
- The central government on Monday presented a ₹1,12,950 crore budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the Parliament. The Budget 2022-23 for the UT is up 10% over the revised estimate of 2021-22.
- Tabling the budget in the Lok Sabha on Monday 14th Mar. evening, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "The budget 2022-23 for J&K is more than ₹1 lakh crore mark again, which is an indicator of our commitment to make J&K a model of development."
- Sitharaman said that tourism, road and power infrastructure development and water connectivity are some of the key focus areas in J&K. "This is an inclusive budget and all the sectors will get focussed attention,"
- To exploit the potential of the tourism sector in the union territory, 75 offbeat destinations have been identified to be developed with proper infrastructure and requisite facilities for tourists. In order to facilitate the tourism development plan in J&K, the Centre is also weaving around a web of road connectivity projects.
19979. Transforming J&K: Bollywood rekindles romance with J&K as film makers find picture-perfect
- Bollywood’s love affair with the picturesque Kashmir dates back to the 1960’s and 70’s. Back then, scores of films were set in the backdrop of the beautiful locales of the Valley.
- The concept aims to bring back the lost glory of the valley through benefits to the local artists, including dancers, fashion designers, actors, choreographers, cinematographers, sound recordists, set designers and others.
- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has met Bollywood filmmakers including Ekta Kapoor, Dinesh Vijan, Imtiaz Ali, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari among others in Mumbai. He invited them to shoot in the Valley and also discussed how the shooting of films can be made business-friendly in the Union Territory.

19980. 77 sports infrastructure projects sanctioned in Himalayan Region amounting to ₹506.13Cr
- For boosting sports participation in the country, including the Himalayan Region, this Ministry implements a number of Schemes aimed at broad-basing of sports and promotion of excellence in sports.
- Under the Khelo India Scheme, 77 sports infrastructure projects of various categories have been sanctioned in the Himalayan Region amounting to ₹ 506.13 crore.
- Further, 24 sports academies have been accredited and 199 Khelo India Centres (district level) and 11 Khelo India State Centres of Excellence have been approved under the Khelo India Scheme in the Himalayan Region.
- under the "Enhancement of Sports Facilities at J&K" (PMDP) programme of the Government, 30 sports infrastructure projects as well as sports equipment have been sanctioned in the Himalayan UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh amounting to ₹ 273.85 crore.
