2441. Hindustan Power signs INR 620-crore solar, storage MoU with Assam
- On 3 march 2025 Hindustan Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Assam to invest INR 620 crore in solar power and battery energy storage projects.
- Hindustan Power targets 5 GW energy portfolio over the next three years. The investment in Assam will drive the development of a 100 MW solar power plant alongside a 100 MW battery energy storage system.
- Hindustan Power will invest INR 500 crore for the solar plant and INR 120 crore for the battery storage facility.
2442. NTPC’s 300 MW Kolayat solar power plant now fully operational
- On 3 march 2025 NTPC announced that its 300 MW Shambu ki Burj-2 (Kolayat) solar PV project in Bikaner district of Rajasthan is now fully operational.
- The project was commissioned by NTPC arm NTPC Green Energy in a phased manner, with the final 18.32 MW portion recently going online.
- The 300MW Sambhu Ki Bhurj-II solar PV project has been developed under the second phase of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s CPSU Scheme.
2443. Centre govertment sanctions Rs 223 crore for rural roads & bridges in Andhra pradesh
- On 2 march 2025 The Central government has approved Rs 223.65 crore for road and bridge construction projects in the State under Phase 3 of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communication Pemmasani Chandrasekhar.
- The highest share, with Rs 143.24 crore, while other districts were allotted Rs 80.41 crore. The funding follows a 60:40 cost-sharing ratio between the Centre and the State government.
- The total of 20 road projects covering 138.93 km will be built at a cost of Rs 123.46 crore, with Rs 74.076 crore from the Centre and Rs 49.384 crore from the State. Four bridges spanning 1,036.22 meters will be constructed with an investment of Rs 100.19 crore, including Rs 28.74 crore from the Centre and Rs 71.45 crore from the State.

2444. Modern farming with AI
- On 2 march 2025 Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared a video talking about the success story of its Project Farm Vibes launched in 2022 in Maharashtra’s Baramati, showcasing how AI-driven solutions improved crop yield by 40% and reduced fertiliser use by 25% of sugarcane farmers.
- CEO Satya Nadella claimed that it also resulted in 50% water conservation, reduced harvest time from 18 to 12 months and accounted for 12% reduction in post-harvest losses.
- Microsoft Research, through Project Farm Vibes, an open-source research project, is actively developing AI-driven solutions to further revolutionise India’s agricultural sector.
2445. सौर उर्जा से बिजली उत्पादन का हब बना नीमच
- 3 मार्च 2025 को मध्यप्रदेश के नीमच जिले मे सौर उर्जा से बिजली उत्पादन का नीमच जिला हब बन गया है। देश की नामी कंपनियों के 2500 करोड़ के प्रोजेक्ट यहां लगे हुए हैं ।
- नीमच जिले में सौर उर्जा से बन रही बिजली से पश्चिम रेलवे की ट्रेनें दौड़ रही हैं। मुंबई सेंट्रल, वडोदरा, रतलाम, अहमदाबाद, राजकोट, भावनगर सहित कई रूट पर ट्रेनें नीमच में पैदा हो रही बिजली से चल रही हैं।
- नीमच जिले मे सात प्लांट स्थापित हो गए हैं। फिलहाल, 400 मेगावाट बिजली का उत्पादन हो रहा है। अगले वर्ष यह उत्पादन बढ़कर 750 मेगावॉट हो जाएगा ।
2446. India emerges as world’s 3rd largest biofuel producer
- On 2 march 2025 In the global energy landscape, India stands strong as the third largest biofuel producer, driving the shift towards cleaner and renewable energy,
- “India has achieved 19.6 per cent ethanol blending in petrol as of January this year and is set to achieve 20 per cent very soon five years ahead of the original 2030 schedule, reducing fuel imports and emissions.”
- The ethanol blending initiatives have enhanced farmer incomes as it is made from sugarcane, increased rural employment, reduced CO2 emissions equivalent to planting 1.75 crore trees and resulted in savings of Rs 85,000 crore worth of foreign exchange.
2447. Adani Green Energy refinances $1.06 bn to develop mega solar-wind cluster
- On 2 march 2025 Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) it has refinanced $1.06 billion to develop India’s largest solar-wind hybrid renewable cluster in Rajasthan.
- AGEL has successfully completed its capital management programme for the underlying asset portfolio, which involves securing long-term facilities that are perfectly aligned with the cash flow lifecycle of that portfolio.
- India’s largest renewable energy company successfully refinanced its maiden construction facility with an outstanding amount of $1.06 billion taken in 2021
2448. UPI Transactions See 33 Per Cent YoY Volume Growth In Feb, Value Up 20 Per Cent
- On 28 February,2025 The unified payments interface (UPI) transactions witnessed 33 per cent growth (year-on-year) in transaction volume in February at 16.11 billion, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) data showed
- The UPI transaction value also surged 20 per cent (on-year) to Rs 21.96 lakh crore february 2025 .
- The number of daily transactions stood at 575 million from 548 million in January. This resulted in an increase in daily value to Rs 78,446 crore against Rs 75,743 crore in January,

2449. Adani Green Commissions 83 MW Solar Power Project
- On 1 March 2025, in the Khavda district of Gujarat, Adani Green Energy Twenty-Five B Limited, a wholly-owned step-down subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), commissioned an 83 MW solar power project.
- The project became operational , after receiving the necessary clearances. The decision to begin operations was made on the same day.
- The commissioning of this new plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable energy capacity has now reached 12,341.1 MW. The company continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to clean energy and sustainability.
- The development marks another step in AGEL’s strategy to enhance India’s renewable energy generation. The Khavda solar project is expected to contribute significantly to the country’s growing green energy,
2450. Future wars will be tech-driven, India must stay ahead
- On 1 march 2025 the youth to inculcate scientific temper and excel in frontier technologies by leveraging the internationally-competitive infrastructure being developed in the country due to the government initiatives.
