2411. Govt Approves Rs 1,500 Crore Incentive for Promotion of Small-Value UPI Payments
- On 20 march 2025 The government on Wednesday approved a Rs 1,500 crore incentive for the promotion of small-value BHIM-UPI (P2M). transactions up to Rs 2,000, a move aimed at benefiting common people and small merchants.

2412. Zelestra Secures Landmark 500 MW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project in India, Advancing Grid Stability with Solar, Wind, and Battery Storage
- On 21 March,2025, It was reported that, Zelestra, a global renewable energy company, has been awarded a Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) contract by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN). The contract paves the way for a 500 MW hybrid renewable energy project integrating solar, wind, and battery storage technologies.
- The project, set to be developed in Solapur, Maharashtra, is expected to come online by 2027. It will comprise approximately 250 MWdc of solar power, 180 MW of wind energy, and a 90 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
- Recognized as one of the top 10 clean energy suppliers to corporate customers worldwide by BloombergNEF (BNEF), Zelestra continues to strengthen its foothold in India.

- On 21 March,2025 it was reported that, India is exporting trains, coaches, locomotives, bogies, underframes, propulsion systems, forged wheels, rail tracks, and consultancy services to multiple countries, showcasing its growing global presence in the railway sector.
- “Passenger coaches are being exported to Mozambique, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Locomotives are now being sent to Mozambique, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Bangladesh,”

2415. Apple and Samsung make 94% of India’s smartphone exports as Made in India mobile shipments grows 6% in 2024
- On March 20, 2025, Apple and Samsung have accounted for around 94% of India’s smartphone exports, noted Counterpoint’s ‘Make in India’ Service. Overall, ‘Made in India’ smartphone shipments grew 6% year-over-year (YoY) in 2024 primarily due to these two brands.
- Samsung retained its position as the top smartphone manufacturer in India in 2024, registering a 7% YoY growth and driven by a 13% YoY increase in its exports.
- Rising smartphone exports are also due to government’s PLI (Production-Linked Incentive) scheme that has encouraged global manufacturers to set up or expand their production facilities in the country.

2416. Paras Defence & Space Technologies secures Rs 142.31 crore contract from DRDO to make anti-drone laser dome
- On 21 March,2025,It was reported that, Paras Defence & Space Technologies Ltd has secured a ₹142.31 crore contract from DRDO's CHESS to develop a high-powered indigenous laser system for India’s most advanced anti-drone laser dome.
- To strengthen India’s self-reliance in defence (Make in India & Atmanirbhar Bharat), enhance air defence against drones and missiles, stimulate job creation, boost technological innovation, and open export opportunities.
- By developing a laser source module integrated with a beam control system on a mobile platform, designed for anti-drone/UAV and anti-missile applications. The project positions Paras Defence as South Asia's pioneer in this domain with potential access to a ₹25,000 crore market.
2417. Tata Motors begins India's first hydrogen truck trials range upto 500 kms
- On 4 March 2025 Tata Motors has commenced the trials of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in India, marking a significant step towards reducing emissions in long-haul freight transport.
- The project, funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aims to assess the feasibility of hydrogen as a clean fuel alternative for commercial vehicles.
- The trial was launched in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy i. 2418. Deoria: 2 roads built at Rs14cr inaugurated
- On 2 March, 2025, the newly-constructed roads were inaugurated by Sadar MP , while Agriculture Minister presided over the event.
- The first road, stretching 6.60 km from Dhoos Deoria to Shahpur Shukla Anand Nagar, was completed at a cost of Rs 6.36 crore.
