- कोरोना वैक्सीन बनाने वाली कंपनी सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया ब्रिटेन में निवेश करने जा रही है.
- SII के निवेश वाला ये प्रोजेक्ट 240 मिलियन पाउंड यानि की करीब 2500 करोड़ रुपए का हो सकता है. ये जानकारी स्वयं ब्रिटेन के प्रधानमंत्री बोरिस जानसन ने दी है.
- इस प्रोजेक्ट में कम लागत पर एस्ट्राजेनेका कोरोना शॉट् विकसित किए जाने की योजना है. प्रोजेक्ट के तहत संबंधित रिसर्च, क्लिनिकल ट्रायल, डेवलपमेंट और अगर संभव हुआ तो वैक्सीन का निर्माण भी शामिल है.
- इसके अलावा सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ने यूके में वन डोज नेसल वैक्सीन (one-dose nasal vaccine) के पहले चरण का ट्रायल भी आरंभ कर दिया है. यदि ये प्रयोग सफल साबित होता है तो इस वैक्सीन को किसी नेसल स्प्रे या ड्राप की तरह एक बार देकर कोरोना से छुटकारा पाया जा सकेगा.

- The Indian army is training dogs to find COVID-19 in its ranks by sniffing human sweat and urine, a senior officer said on Tuesday.
- Breeds such as cocker spaniels and labradors are being trained to detect the disease from the cells of infected people at a facility in New Delhi.
- Several countries are considering using dogs to identify the coronavirus at airports and other public spaces. But the military deployment is the first time in India that dogs are being used to detect COVID-19, said Colonel Surender Saini, an army dog trainer.

- यूपी सरकार ने लाइसेंस प्राप्त मैन्युफैक्चरर से COVID-19 वैक्सीन की 4 करोड़ डोज खरीदने के लिए ग्लोबल ई-टेंडर जारी किया. यूपी मेडिकल सप्लाई कॉरपोरेशन लिमिटेड (UPMSCL) के एक अधिकारी ने बताया है कि कोरोना वैक्सीन की 40 मिलियन डोज की आपूर्ति के लिए लाइसेंस प्राप्त मैन्युफैक्चरर से ऑनलाइन शॉर्ट टर्म ग्लोबल ई-टेंडर जारी किया गया है
- पीटीआई के मुताबिक, टेंडर भारत सरकार के दिशा-निर्देशों के अनुसार होगी. टेंडर फॉर्म को 7 मई को डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है और दस्तावेजों के ऑनलाइन जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि 21 मई है

- In yet another achievement, India's cumulative vaccination coverage exceeded 16.48 crore doses till today. More than 2.62 lakh beneficiaries of age group 18-44 were inoculated on Thursday till 8 pm.
- The liberalised and accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 vaccination has come into force from May 1, 2021. Registration for the newly eligible population groups has commenced on April 28.
- The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 16,48,76,248 as per the 8 pm provisional report today.
- 2,62,932 beneficiaries of the 18-44 age group received their first dose of COVID vaccine today and cumulatively 11,64,076 across 12 States/Union Territories (UT).

- Govt’s priority is to vaccinate 30 crore people identified as vulnerable, so no private sales before sufficient stockpile is available, says Dr V.K. Paul.
- A slew of vaccines are in different stages of development or clinical trials in India, but it could be a “few months” before any of them get emergency use authorisation, NITI Aayog’s Member (Health) Dr V.K. Paul said Tuesday..
- “First and foremost, the comprehensive goal is to achieve the public health objective of vaccinating 30 crore people. That is where the vaccine stockpile will be channelled on priority. If the availability is over and above that requirement… we still have to wait for a few months before any of these (other) vaccines become available through emergency use authorisation,” he said. “Protecting large populations from mortality, should they get Covid-19, is the priority.”

- the railways has decided to equip the rolling stock of freight wagons with GPS to monitor their real-time movement and provide information to the parties booking the wagons.
- the railways plans to install the system in the wagons being used on the dedicated freight corridors. A highly placed railway source said funds to the tune of `600 crore have been allocated to complete this ambitious project.

- कोविड रोधी रूस की वैक्सीन स्पूतनिक V (Sputnik V) का नया वर्जन लॉन्च किया गया है. स्पूतनिक लाइट (Sputnik Lite) नाम की इस वैक्सीन के 80 प्रतिशत तक प्रभावी होने का दावा किया गया है.
- इस वैक्सीन की सिर्फ एक डोज ही कोविड-19 से सुरक्षा देने में सक्षम बताई जा रही है.
- इस वैक्सीन की फंडिंग करने वाले रूसी प्रत्यक्ष निवेश कोष (आरडीआईएफ), ने एक बयान में कहा कि दो-शॉट वाली स्पूतनिक वी वैक्सीन की तुलना में सिंगल डोज वाली स्पूतनिक लाइट ज्यादा प्रभावी है.
- स्पूतनिक V 91.6 प्रतिशत तक प्रभावी है जबकि स्पूतनिक लाइट 79.4 प्रतिशत तक प्रभावी है.

- स्टडीज के अनुसार कोरोना के मामलों में वैक्सीन लगवाने के बाद व्यापक सुरक्षा की बात कही गई है। दो स्टडीज में कहा गया है कि कोरोना वायरस के दो वैरिएंट्स के खिलाफ फाइजर एनबायोटेक की वैक्सीन काफी प्रभावी है।
- हालांकि, मॉडर्ना वैक्सीन के शुरुआती ट्रायल के नतीजे अभी सार्वजनिक नहीं किए गए हैं। वहीं, कंपनी का कहना है कि साइंटिस्टों की सलाह है कि कोरोना वायरस का साउथ अफ्रीका और ब्राजील वेरिएंट के खिलाफ बूस्टर के रूप में सिंगल डोज दिया जाना चाहिए।
- फाइजर की स्टडी वैक्सीन के कतर और इस्राइल में रियल यूज पर आधारित है। इसमें ब्रिटेन में पहचाने गए वेरिएंट बी.1.1.7 और साउथ अफ्रीका में पहली बार पाए गए बी. 1.351 वेरिएंट शामिल है।
- फाइजर के एक स्टडी में सामने आया कि वैक्सीन उन लोगों में 87 से 89.5 परसेंट तक प्रभावी और संक्रमण को रोकने में मददगार है जिन्होंने वैक्सीन की दोनों डोज ले ली है।

- Niti Aayog member Dr VK Paul on Tuesday asserted that India is free from South Africa variant of COVID-19 so far. He stated that no case of this rapidly spread variant of COVID-19 found in India until now.
- While addressing the press conference, Dr Paul said that the registered South Africa Covid-19 variant spreads faster, hence, it is under the watch of Indian authorities. As per the evaluation made till Monday, February 8, this variant is not present in the country.
- During his briefing, Paul acknowledged that the country has improved the situation and lauded the progress of the coronavirus vaccination drive. He said, "It is remarkable that no death has been reported due to Covid-19 in Delhi, in the last 24 hours. We can confidently say that the strategy to implement vaccination programme and the experience of vaccination is now consistently, very highly rated by people."

- ओलंपिक्स जापान के टोक्यों में 23 जुलाई से होगा। आईओसी का यह दूसरा प्रमुख टीकाकरण समझौता है। इससे पहले मार्च में ओलिंपिक समिति और ओलिंपिक अधिकारियों के बीच चीन में चीन से वैक्सीन खरीदने और वितरण को लेकर समझौता हुआ था।
- अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति (आईओसी) ने गुरुवार को कहा कि वैक्सीन निर्माणा कंपनी फाइजर और बायोएनटेक टोक्यो ओलंपिक्स की तैयारी कर रहे एथलीटों को मुफ्त में वैक्सीन देंगी।
- आईओसी ने कहा कि वैक्सीन की खुराक का वितरण इस महीने से शुरू हो जाएगा ताकि ओलंपिक प्रतिनिधिमंडल के पास ओलिंपिक शुरू होने से पहले दोनों टीके लगाने के लिए पर्याप्त समय हो।
