20061. 20,000-capacity lodgements being set up for Amarnath pilgrims in Jammu
- The Jammu and Kashmir administration is making arrangements to create 20,000-capacity lodgements in the Jammu division for the upcoming annual pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas,
- Jammu Divisional Commissioner Raghav Langer said the 2020 and 2021 Yatras to the shrine situated at an altitude of the 3,880 metre were conducted on symbolic basis due to Covid pandemic, and this year the number of pilgrims is expected to be very high.
- A 3000-bedded yatri niwas has been constructed at Chanderkote in Ramban district by the shrine board and it will give a major boost to the lodgment capacity for pilgrims along the Yatra route.
20062. H&UDD Launches Online Portal For Change Of Land Use Permission In Master Plan Areas In J&K
- Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD), J&K launched the online portal for granting permission for change of land use in Master Plan Areas.
- In exercise of powers conferred by section 11-A of the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, 1970, the Government of UT of J&K had notified vide SO No. 439 dated 24-12-2021 the scheme for levy of charges for use of land as permitted in the Master Plan Areas. Under the scheme, permission for land use shall be granted strictly in accordance with permitted land use under such Master plan or Zonal plan.
- In terms of the above S.O, the Jammu Development Authority is the Competent Authority to grant the permission for Change in Land Use and to levy charges there for in the entire local planning area of Jammu Master Plan 2032 including JMC, Municipal Committees of Bari Brahamna, Vijay Pur, Gho-Manhasan, Bishnah and rural areas falling in JMP 2032 limits.
- Any owner or his authorised person desirous of getting land use of his land changed to the one prescribed in the Jammu Master Plan 2032 irrespective of whether he intends to undertake construction immediately thereafter or later, can apply for this permission through online portal www.jkhuddobps.in or through JDA’s website www.jda.jk.gov.in by clicking Online Building Permission/CLU Permission option on E-Services tab of the JDA’s website.
20063. Honey Processing Unit inaugurated at Krishi Bhawan Jammu
- Director of Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, `inaugurated a 100 Kg capacity Honey Processing Unit established under Apiculture Development Scheme at Krishi Bhawan.
- The Director informed that the honey processing unit consists of Automatic Honey Processing Plant, Moisture Reduction Unit, Storage Chamber, Bottling Unit. “It performs multi-functions including preheating, processing, moisture reduction, filtration and bottling of the honey”.
- The processing unit will go a long way in helping the bee-keepers of Jammu division as the department will facilitate the processing of crude honey produced by the farmers free of cost. The bee-keepers will be provided a logo under “Jammu Kheti” brand as well as FSSAI testing for successful marketing of honey for remunerative returns,

20064. Navin Choudhary Reviews Action Plans For CSSs; Calls For Enhanced Publicity Of Animal, Sheep Husbandry Initiatives
- Principal Secretary, Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, Navin Kumar Choudhary, chaired a meeting to discuss proposed action plans for all Centrally Sponsored Schemes and Central Sector Schemes for the year 2022-23.
- Principal Secretary directed the Director Finance to get expenditure plans prepared and approved before departmental spending. He called for creating financial discipline in the departments.
- He also sought detailed break up regarding establishment and functioning of artificial insemination centres by Animal Husbandry Department. He directed for allocation of funds under Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS) for providing subsidized sex-sorted insemination.
20065. LG Administration Institutionalizing Good Governance Initiatives In UT
- Keeping pace with its commitment of extending good governance to people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor’s administration has institutionalized a slew of good governance initiatives in the Union Territory. LG administration has adopted a mantra of zero tolerance against corruption, nepotism and discrimination against minorities in J&K so that voices of the most vulnerable in society are heard and given due recognition.
- In India some remarkable steps were initiated by the government for ensuring good governance in all parts of the country. A multitude of good governance reforms have been initiated in J&K by the Modi Government like Prevention of Corruption Act, Abolition of Interviews for Group C and D posts besides more than 800 Central Laws have been made applicable to J&K after it got the status of Union Territory. The long pending cadre review, establishment of CAT benches, Extension of RTI Act, CPGRAMS and conduct of common eligibility test through the National Recruitment Agency at every district headquarter in the UT besides other similar pro-people measures.
- In a significant move, through the Mission Karmayogi, capacity building of 2000 civil servants in collaboration between National Centre of Good Governance (NCGG) and IMPARD is being undertaken. Remarkably, in a first of its kind initiative, this year around 60 senior officers of JKAS were deputed to LBSNAA, National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), GoI for capacity building.
20066. India's merchandise exports likely to be at $111.3 bn in Q4 FY22: Exim
- The country's merchandise exports are likely to be at USD 111.3 billion in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal, according to a forecast by India Exim Bank.
- Non oil exports are expected to be at USD 95.2 billion in Q4 FY22, with total merchandise outbound shipment exceeding USD 414 billion for FY 2022, it said
- The rise in India's exports could be attributed largely to the continued global growth momentum and the resultant increase in global import demand, along with favourable global commodity prices

20067. Exports cross $380 billion this fiscal so far; likely to hit $410 billion in FY22: Piyush Goyal
- The country's merchandise exports have reached over $380 billion so far this fiscal till March 7 and are expected to reach $410 billion in 2021-22, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said
- India and Canada have formally re-launched negotiations for a free trade agreement, which is officially dubbed as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

20068. India's first luxury cruise services by IRCTC: All you need to know
- IRCTC will launch India's first indigenous cruise liner on September 18. One can purchase tickets at www.irctctourism.com. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has partnered with Cordelia Cruises, a private company, to provide luxury cruise services in India beginning September 18, 2021.
- IRCTC has joined hands and signed an agreement with Cordelia Cruises, which is operated by Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt. Ltd, for the promotion and marketing of the first indigenous luxury cruise in India
- IRCTC is entering the international and domestic cruise markets in order to tap the domestic market, which includes potential outbound guests. The luxury cruise service will benefit the tourism industry. IRCTC, an arm of the Indian railways, also provides hospitality, travel, and tourism services to rail passengers.
20069. Indian Railways to call tenders for 100 000 wagons
- The Ministry of Railways is seeking international investors to support the revitalisation of the domestic wagon building sector, with tenders to be called for the supply of around 100 000 wagons.
- A tender is to be floated in Q1 of the 2022-23 financial year for the supply of more than 30 000 wagons/year over three years at an estimated cost of Rs350bn.
- Freight loadings between April and December 2021 were more than 18% up on the corresponding period in 2020, from 869 to 1 028 million tonnes, and the strong growth has continued through January and February.
20070. Indian Railways looks to achieve net zero emission by 2030: Official
- The Indian Railways plans to achieve net-zero carbon emission by 2030 and its focus is also on increasing network capacity, Railway Board Secretary R.N. Singh said on March 11
- The Railways plans to electrify its entire broad-gauge network by December 2023, Railway Board Secretary R.N. Singh said.
- the Railways' current emphasis is on its share of freight and passenger transport on economic as well as environmental considerations.
