22881. Haryana Agriculture University Develops E-Tractor For Farmers With Low Running Cost
- 1. HAU vice-chancellor Professor B R Kamboj stated that the e-tractor can travel up to 80 km with a trailer attached to it weighing 1.5 tonnes and also move at a top speed of 23.17 km per hour.
- 2. There are about 80 lakh tractors in India of which about 4 lakh tractors are in the state of Haryana.
- 3. The annual pollution due to carbon dioxide production by tractors below 30 hp is 46 lakh tonne in India and 2.3 lakh tonne in Haryana
22882. Kerala gets new MEMU train; to begin service from Jan 26
- A new MEMU train has been sanctioned for Kerala. As per the notification issued by the Southern Railway, an unreserved expressed special train on Mangalore–Kannur route will be operated with 12 car MEMU rakes from January 26
- It is learnt that the train will be having a total of 12 bogies. However, no decision has been taken on matters including the schedule of the train.
- The decision to sanction a MEMU train was taken upon a meeting of Kerala MPs with the General Manager of the Southern Railway.

- 1. देश में अब बाढ़ की भी भविष्यवाणी संभव होगी। इस खोज से देश में बारिश के दिनों में मचने वाले जल-प्रलय से समय रहते बचाव संभव हो सकेगा।
- 2. एनआईटी हमीरपुर, एनआईटी उतराखंड और इसरो के उपक्रम इंडियन इंस्टीट्यूट रिमोट सेसिंग (आईआईआरएस) के विशेषज्ञों की मेहनत रंग लाई तो बाढ़ की सटीक भविष्यवाणी होगी।
- 3. बाढ़ से मचने वाले जलप्रलय से बचाव के लिए इस प्रोजेक्ट पर एनआईटी हमीरपुर और आईआईआरएस के विशेषज्ञ जुटे हैं। मुख्यत जियोग्राफिकल सिस्टम (जीआईएस) तकनीक पर आधारित इस शोध कार्य में बारिश मापने के यंत्र और कंक्रीट वेयर का इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा।
22884. DRDO's stealth attack UAV back in focus as footage of demonstrator emerges
- 1. The Stealth Wing Flying Testbed (SWiFT), a UAV developed by the DRDO's Aeronautical Development Establishment.
- 2. The SWiFT is being developed as a technology demonstrator for the DRDO's secretive programme to create an unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV).
- 3. DRDO had previously indicated that SWiFT was a project to demonstrate technologies for controlling the flying wing configuration and flight characteristics at high-subsonic speed.
22885. India among select few countries developing hypersonic missiles: US Congressional report
- 1. India is among the select few countries which are developing hypersonic weapons, an independent Congressional report has said.
- 2. India has collaborated with Russia on the development of BrahMos II, a Mach 7 hypersonic cruise missile, the CRS report said.
- 3. The Department of Defence (DOD) is currently developing hypersonic weapons under the Navy’s Conventional Prompt Strike programme, which is intended to provide the US military with the ability to strike hardened or time-sensitive targets with conventional warheads, as well as through several Air Force, Army and DARPA programmes, the CRS said.

- Heavy civil infrastructure business under Larsen and Toubro construction is handling the metro rail project. L&T has been granted permission by DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) for the construction of the underground metro under the first phase of Patna MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System).
- At least 12 stations will be constructed under the North-South Corridor Metro Project of Patna metro. These stations will be at a distance of 1.5 kilometres between Patna junction and Bairia. The stations considered under this project after Patna Junction are Aakashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna university and Premchand rangshala.

22888. India to get Swedish anti-armour weapon capable of hitting enemy tanks, choppers from confined spaces
- The Indian Army and the Indian Air Force are all set to get a new anti-armour weapon that can be used to hit enemy tanks, armoured vehicles, helicopters and landing craft. Swedish giant Saab will provide the weapon to India.
- "AT4 weapon has been selected by the Indian Armed Forces through a competitive programme for a single-shot weapon. AT4 will be used by the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force," a statement from Saab said.
- SINGLE SHOT WEAPON SYSTEM A single shot weapon system, soldieries can place these on their shoulders and fire. It weighs 9 kg and has a range of 200 metres. Its 84 mm calibre warhead offers enhanced power and performance.

22889. Global corporate funding in solar sector nearly doubles to $27.8 billion in 2021: Mercom Capital
- The global solar sector has witnessed total corporate funding of USD 27.8 billion in 2021, the highest in the last 10 years, according to Mercom Capital Group.
- Corporate funding includes venture capital and private equity (VC), debt financing, and public market financing. In its latest report, the global clean energy consulting firm said the total worldwide corporate funding in the solar sector in January-December 2021 soared to USD 27.8 billion compared to USD 14.5 billion raised in 2020. Corporate funding in 2021 was the highest in ten years.
- Mercom Capital Group CEO Raj Prabhu said 2021 was the best year for solar corporate funding and mergers and acquisitions since 2010. Financing activity bounced back strongly, following a COVID-19-affected 2020.

22890. DRDO and Indian Air Force successfully flight-test Long Range Bomb
- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Air Force have jointly flight tested indigenously developed Long-Range Bomb successfully from an aerial platform.
- The Long-Range Bomb after release from the IAF fighter aircraft, guided to a land-based target at a long range with accuracy within specified limits. All the mission objectives were successfully met.
- The flight of the bomb and the performance was monitored by a number of range sensors including Electro-Optical Tracking System, Telemetry and radar deployed by the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur in Odisha.
