20991. WayCool Foods partners with National Design and Research Forum for sustainable agriculture
- CHENNAI: Food supply chain startup WayCool Foods has signed a three-year MoU with National Design and Research Forum (NDRF) to re-imagine the agri-supply chain with innovative tech solutions that can enhance efficiency and reduce food wastage.
- The MoU was signed and exchanged between Karthik Jayaraman, CEO, WayCool Foods, and Mylswamy Annadurai, chairman, NDRF, who was the programme director of Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan.
- Ranging from R&D for better soil health measurement, use of bio nutrients for crops, use of satellite data and drones for real-time information to farmers, and automation of supply chain, the partnership aims at improving incomes of farmers with an integrated plan for the entire soil to sale process.
20992. BHEL lights up boiler at 800 megawatt North Chennai Thermal Power Station
- Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Friday lit up the boiler at its North Chennai Thermal Power Station (NCTPS) in Tamil Nadu.
- "BHEL conducted the Boiler light-up of 1 x 800 MW NCTPS Stage III in the presence of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Sh. Edappadi K. Palaniswami," the company said in a statement.
- The NCTPS stage III project, is the highest rating thermal power project, and the first supercritical project to undergo boiler light-up in Tamil Nadu, the company said.

20993. Road transport min inks pact with DRDO
- The road transport and highways ministry has inked a pact with DRDO to utilise its expertise in providing sustainable measures to mitigate landslide and avalanche hazards on the national highways.
- Union minister Nitin Gadkari said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ministry of RTH (Road Transport and Highways) and DRDO on January 20.
- The pact is intended at utilising the expertise of DRDO in providing sustainable landslide, avalanches and other geo-hazard mitigation measures on the national highways, the minister of Road Transport, Highways and MSMEs said.

20994. Manipur farmer promotes zero-waste agriculture with low-cost Eel farming
- A 31-year-old farmer Zidda Ahamad Singamayum from Yairipok Singa from Thoubal district has been promoting zero-waste farming since 2019 using waste products from mushroom farming.
- With the creation of vermicompost from the wastes left after harvesting of Eels, no single waste is left in this farming process.
- “I got the idea of eel farming after witnessing the Biofloc fish farming. Since then, I started research work on Eel farming through YouTube and practically started it using a tarpaulin, waste from mushroom farming, cow dung, and waterweed,” Zidda said.
20995. India, US launch AI-focused forum to scale up science & technology relationship
- The Indo-US Science and Technology Forum’s US India Artificial Intelligence (USIAI) initiative was launched on Wednesday.
- The technology in AI is being promoted and implemented in India through a network of 25 technology hubs that are working as a triple helix set up under NM- ICPS (National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems).
- The Indian government has also introduced the latest policies to liberalize the geospatial policies of India.

20996. Indian Railways Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, Bengaluru: India’s first centralised AC station is now ready! Watch Video
- Indian Railways is all set to open the country’s first-ever centralised air-conditioned terminal in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
- The railway station has been provided with enhanced passenger amenities, adequate parking spaces, beautiful landscape, and infrastructure
- The terminal building, sprawled over an area of 4,200 sqm, costs a total of Rs 314 crore. The terminal is expected to cater to a daily footfall of 50,000 people and all the platforms will be linked by a foot over-bridge along with two subways.

20997. Diesel home delivery: Bharat Petroleum begins doorstep service in THIS city
- Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) along with Humsafar, an app-based doorstep diesel delivery service, has begun doorstep delivery of diesel for industrial and bulk customers in the NCR city of Faridabad and adjoining areas in Haryana.
- The areas that will be served in Faridabad will include Tigaon, Ballabgarh, Prithla, Faridabad NIT, Badhkal and bordering the Badarpur area.
- The BPCL company has started delivery of the fuel from Auto Grit, a BPCL fuel pump on Delhi-Badarpur border.

20998. सोनभद्र में मसालों की खेती से लिख रहे आत्मनिर्भरता की इबारत, अजमेर से किसानों को उपलब्ध कराया बीज
- किसानों की आय बढ़ाने व खेती की आधुनिक चीजों को अपनाने के लिए एसडीएम जागरूक कर रहे हैं। मसाले की खेती की तरफ चार किसानों का रुझान बढ़ा है। इन किसानों को एसडीएम ने भारतीय बीज अनुसंधान संस्थान अजमेर से बीज मंगवाकर उपलब्ध कराया है।
- नई पहल से किसान भी गदगद हैं और घिवही गांव में चारों किसानों ने ट्रायल के तौर पर दो-दो वर्ग मीटर की एक-एक क्यारी में जीरा, अजवाइन, मंगरैल, कस्तूरी मेथी, सौंफ, सलरी, दालचीनी, तेजपत्ता व ङ्क्षहग की खेती की है। इन मसालों की खेती अक्टूबर व नवंबर में की गई है।
- भारतीय बीज अनुसंधान संस्थान अजमेर राजस्थान से पत्राचार एवं दूरभाष पर संपर्क कर बीज की उपलब्धता करवाई और कृषि वैज्ञानिकों एवं विशेषज्ञों के निर्देशन में प्रयोग के तौर पर इस क्षेत्र के कुछ किसानों से मसाले की खेती की शुरुआत कराई।
20999. Supaul : सौ एकड़ में होगी मखाना की खेती, सरकार किसानों को देगी आधा खर्च, इस तरह उठा सकते हैं लाभ
- सुपौल। जिले में मखाना खेती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए कार्य योजना तैयार की गई है। उद्यान निदेशालय पटना के निर्देश पर मखाना क्षेत्र विस्तार योजना के तहत जिले में 2020-21 के लिए एक सौ एकड़ हेक्टेयर में मखाने की खेती करने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है।
- इन खेती पर किसानों को सरकार द्वारा अनुदान भी दी जाएगी। विभाग का मानना है कि मखाना खेती पर लगभग 27 हजार 200 की लागत प्रति हेक्टेयर आता है। जिस पर सरकार द्वारा 50 फ़ीसदी अर्थात 13600 अनुदान की राशि दी जाएगी।
- मखाना खेती के लिए जिले को 100 हेक्टेयर का जो लक्ष्य प्राप्त हुआ है उसमें एक 11.122 हेक्टेयर सामान्य जाति के किसान, 2.144 अनुसूचित जाति, 0.134 अनुसूचित जनजाति किसानों के लिए निर्धारित किया गया है।
21000. Bihar Man Controls Fully-Automated 200-Acre Farm Online, Grows 28000 Fruit Trees
- Sudhanshu Kumar from Bihar has a fully automated farm with a wireless broadband connection, and incorporates scientific farming methods to grow a vast variety of fruit trees, including mangoes, lychees, jamuns, and dragonfruits. He earns around Rs 80 lakh a year
- Sudhanshu, a farmer from Samastipur, Bihar, earns lakhs through farming by using technology, and then selling quality produce. On his 60-acre farm, he has grown 28,000 trees of mango, banana, guava, Jamun, lychee, Brazilian sweet lime, and dragon fruit, among others, fetching him a revenue worth Rs 80 lakh a year.
- Sudhanshu has been practising farming since 1990, and has always emphasised on the use of scientific techniques to increase yield and economic benefit.
