- अमेरिका जॉनसन एंड जॉनसन की कोरोना वैक्सीन का भारत में संयुक्त उत्पादन करने और सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया (एसआइआइ) जैसे विनिर्माताओं को उत्पादन बढ़ाने में मदद पर विचार कर रहा है।
- फाइजर(Pfizer) अमेरिकी वैक्सीन निर्माता कंपनी है जो अब भारत आ सकती है। कई एक्सपर्ट ने इस टीके को कोरोना संक्रमण के खिलाफ सबसे कारगर माना है। इस टीके ने अपने सभी ट्रायलों में कोरोना संक्रमण के खिलाफ 92 प्रतिशत से 95 प्रतिशत तक की क्षमता दिखाई थी।
- वैक्सीन उत्पादन के लिए बौद्धिक संपदा अधिकार में छूट देने को लेकर भारत का प्रयास रंग लाता दिख रहा है।

- The production of the Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin, will soon begin at Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr.
- The Centre has given nod for the production of Covaxin at Bulandshar plant of Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Corporation Limited (BIBCOL). It will manufacture 2 crore doses of Covaxin every month.
- BIBCOL is a PSU of the government. It was established in 1989 in Bulandshahar. It manufactures oral polio vaccines and other immunisers.

- An expert panel on Tuesday recommended Bharat Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin for phase II/III clinical trial on those aged between two to 18 years.
- The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on COVID-19 of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) took the decision after the Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech sought permission to conduct phase II/III clinical trials to evaluate the safety, reactogenicity and immunogenicity of Covaxin jabs in children aged 2 to 18 years.
- This comes amid reports that children are likely to be at risk in the possible third wave of the COVID-19 virus in the country. According to experts, the first wave of the virus attacked the elderly, in the second wave more youth are affected and the third wave can be dangerous for children

- कई राज्यों की तरफ से कोविड-19 टीकों की कमी की जानकारी देने के बीच सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट और भारत बायोटेक ने अगले 4 महीने की अपनी उत्पादन योजना केंद्र सरकार को सौंपी है. आधिकारिक सूत्रों के अनुसार योजना में यह कहा गया है कि सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट अगस्त से हर महीने 10 करोड़ वेक्सीन बनाएगी.
- वहीं भारत बॉयोटेक का अगस्त से हर महीने 7.8 करोड़ वैक्सीन बनाने का प्लान है. सूत्रों ने कहा कि केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय और भारत के औषध महानियंत्रक कार्यालय ने दोनों कंपनियों से जून, जुलाई, अगस्त और सितंबर के लिए उनकी उत्पादन योजना मांगी थी. फिलहाल तबतक देश में वैक्सीन की इसी तरह से कमी बनी रह सकती है.
- भारत बायोटेक ने सरकार को जानकारी दी है कि कोवैक्सिन का उत्पादन जुलाई में 3.32 करोड़ और अगस्त में 7.82 करोड़ हो जाएगा. यह सितंबर में भी बरकरार रहेगा. इसी तरह सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया ने जानकारी दी है कि कोविशिल्ड का उत्पादन अगस्त में 10 करोड़ खुराक तक बढ़ जाएगा और सितंबर में उस स्तर पर बनाए रखा जाएगा.

- भारत में कोरोना कहर के बीच एक बड़ी खुशखबरी आई है। देश में अगले हफ्ते से रूस की कोरोना वैक्सीन स्पूतनिक बाजार में उपलब्ध होगी।
- नीति आयोग के सदस्य डॉक्टर वीके पॉल ने आज कहा कि अगले हफ्ते से लोगों को स्पूतनिक का टीका लगाया जा सकता है। इस वैक्सीन का जुलाई से भारत में उत्पादन होगा।
- उन्होंने कहा, 'स्पूतनिक वैक्सीन भारत में पहुंच गई है। मुझे यह कहते हुए खुशी है कि हम उम्मीद करते हैं कि अगले हफ्ते से यह बाजार में उपलब्ध रहेगी। हम यह भी आशा करते हैं कि रूस से आई वैक्सीन की सीमित मात्रा में बिक्री अगले हफ्ते से शुरू हो जाएगी।'

- सरकार ने दावा किया है कि 5 महीने के अंदर वैक्सीन की किल्लत न सिर्फ दूर होगी, बल्कि ये देश की जनसंख्या से भी ज्यादा, 216 करोड़ डोज उपलब्ध होगी.कोरोना की वैक्सीन को लेकर नीति आयोग के सदस्य डॉ. वीके पॉल ने अहम जानकारी दी है.
- डॉ. पॉल ने गुरुवार को एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में कहा कि आगामी अगस्त से दिसंबर यानी कि 5 महीने के बीच देश के पास 216 करोड़ वैक्सीन डोज होंगे. उन्होंने कहा कि देश में अगस्त से दिसंबर तक की वैक्सीन की उपलब्धता देखें तो कुल 216 करोड़ वैक्सीन डोज उपलब्ध होने की उम्मीद है.
- नीति आयोग के सदस्य ने आगे बताया कि 216 करोड़ वैक्सीन डोज में 55 करोड़ डोज कोवैक्सीन, 75 करोड़ कोविशील्ड, 30 करोड़ बायो ई सब यूनिट वैक्सीन, 5 करोड़ जायडस कैंडिला डीएनए, 20 करोड़ नोवावैक्सीन, 10 करोड़ भारत बायोटेक नेजल वैक्सीन, 6 करोड़ जिनोवा और 15 करोड़ डोज स्पुतनिक की उपलब्ध होगी. इसके अलावा दूसरी विदेशी वैक्सीन भी आ सकती है.

- Ahmedabad-based pharmaceutical firm Zydus Cadila is likely to begin supplying ZyCoV-D, a Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by it, from June.
- ZyCoV-D will be the country’s second indigenously-developed vaccine against the novel coronavirus, after Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin.
- With plans to manufacture 240 million (24 crore) doses of ZyCoV-D in a year, the drug maker is expecting to submit the efficacy data to the regulator, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), by the end of this month.

- The national regulator Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has accepted the recommendation of the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) and given a nod to Bharat Biotech Ltd to conduct Phase II/III clinical trial of COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin in the age group 2 to 18 years.
- Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech had proposed to carry out a Phase-II/III clinical trial of Covaxin in the age group of 2 to 18 years. The trial will be conducted in 525 healthy volunteers.
- In the trial, the vaccine will be given by intramuscular route in two doses at day 0 and day 28.

- The Centre has said that it is in talks with three global manufacturers including Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson to supply coronavirus vaccines in the country.
- However, the manufacturers have said that they would be able to open discussions only in Q3 2021.
- The government said that nevertheless, over 2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines would be available in India between August and December this year as per estimates given by the manufacturers.
