20331. ITC’s dairy business to focus on east India for next few years: Official
- The dairy business of diversified conglomerate ITC Limited will focus on east India, particularly West Bengal and Bihar, for the next few years.
- Speaking to reporters on the launch of lactose-free milk here, chief operating officer (COO) of dairy and beverages business of ITC Sanjay Singal said that the dairy business is growing faster, though on a smaller base.
- He said the fresh dairy business of the company started in West Bengal four years back, adding that the share of the division in the organised sector is substantial and growing. Singal said that the dairy business is contributing less than ten per cent to the company’s FMCG revenue, of which it is a part.

20332. Mizoram : Centre Sanctions Rs 15 Crores For Strengthening ‘Land Customs Station’ At Zokhawthar Hamlet
- The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 15 crores for strengthening & upgrading the Land Customs Station (LCS) at the Indo-Myanmar Border, located in Zokhawthar hamlet of Champhai District in Mizoram, for improving the transit, customs and immigration, cargo handling facilities and other services between Myanmar and Northeast India.
- According to the Mizoram Commerce & Industries minister – Dr. R. Lalthangliana, the Centre is making all efforts to facilitate border trade between Mizoram and Myanmar and Bangladesh.
- “The money will also be used for construction of quarters for officers and staff at the land customs station,” the minister said. Meanwhile, land preparations for fencing the proposed Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Kawrpuichhuah in Lunglei district on the Indo-Bangladesh border has also been completed, Lalthangliana informed the assembly.

20333. Mizoram: Multi-crore waterway project to aid southern districts
- A multi-crore inland waterway transport project would be developed across a 23-km stretch on Mizoram’s Khawthlangtuipui-Tuichawng rivers to cater to the needs of the southern districts,
- The Centre has already sanctioned Rs 6.17 crore as first installment of the Rs 22.93-crore project,
- The official said this at a meeting on Wednesday, where Union Minister of Ports and Shipping Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed ongoing projects in Mizoram.

20334. MHA orders Rs 4000-4500 per month remuneration to VDG members
- A day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assurance, the Ministry of Home Affairs today announced payment of Rs 4500 per month to the leader of Village Defence Group (VDG), previously known as Village Defence Committees (VDCs), and Rs 4000 per month to the members, benefitting 27515 persons.
- Currently, most of the VDCs are unpaid while others are getting meagre payment of Rs 500 or Rs 700 per month prompting many members to quit. However, the Home Ministry’s decision will rejuvenate the rechristened VDGs and majority of members are expected to come back.
- An MHA order issued today said the members of the Village Defence Group (VDG) will be designated as the Village Defence Guards (VDGs) instead of earlier designation of VDCs.
- The VDCs have a total of 27515 members, who will immensely benefit with the Home Ministry’s decision to pay them Rs 4000-4500 per month. Presently, only 1860 VDCs were being paid a meagre amount while 2293 were unpaid.
20335. Transforming J&K: ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign aims to inoculate population with COVID-19 vax
- The Jammu and Kashmir administration left no stone unturned in its endeavour to vaccinate the eligible population with COVID-19 vaccines across J&K In that direction, the government initiated house to house campaign- ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ to inoculate the entire eligible population of the Union Territory.
- The ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ Campaign launched in November last year focuses on coverage of all unvaccinated cases, besides ensuring sensitization regarding importance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and masks.
- The main aim of the campaign is to saturate all eligible beneficiaries with 1st dose of COVID vaccination and devising targeted plans in context of doses given in August and September, 2021 to ensure coverage of all beneficiaries due for 2nd dose by exponentially increasing the pace of vaccination.
- The ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ also aims to cover the poor families from rural background and ensure greater coverage with easy access to affordable healthcare facilities during health emergencies. This door-to-door campaign also focuses on achieving 100% enrollment under Ayushman Bharat scheme. To achieve maximum results, the health care workers travelled the length and breadth of the region to cover each and every individual of the UT.
20336. JK RC in Delhi sets up help desk
- The Resident Commission (RC), J&K in New Delhi has established a help desk at the New Delhi Airport to provide assistance to evacuees from Ukraine.
- Kashmiri students arriving in New Delhi from Ukraine were received today by Resident Commission officers.
- They were given all possible assistance soon after their arrival, including making arrangements for their boarding and lodging in the Indian capital.
- Air tickets are also being provided for their onward journey to Jammu or Srinagar by the J & K Government.
20337. 1670 करोड़ रुपए का निवेश करेगा रिलायंस:रिलायंस और सनमीना भारत में बनाएंगे वर्ल्ड क्लास इलेक्ट्रानिक मैन्युफैक्चरिंग हब; 5G, डेटा सेंटर, क्लाउड, IT पर रहेगा फोकस
- रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड (RIL) की पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली सहायक कंपनी रिलायंस स्ट्रेटेजिक बिजनेस वेंचर्स लिमिटेड (RSBVL) और सनमीना कॉर्पोरेशन ने भारत में इलेक्ट्रानिक हब बनाने के लिए एक संयुक्त उद्यम बनाने की घोषणा की है। सनमीना की मौजूदा भारतीय यूनिट में रिलायंस 1670 करोड़ रुपए का निवेश करेगा।
- सयुंक्त उद्यम में रिलायंस के पास 50.1% की हिस्सेदारी होगी। जबकि प्रबंधन सनमीना की मौजूदा टीम के हाथों में रहेगा।
- RSBVL के पास संयुक्त उद्यम इकाई में 50.1% इक्विटी हिस्सेदारी होगी, जबकि शेष 49.9% सनमीना के पास रहेगा। RSBVL इस स्वामित्व को मुख्य रूप से सनमीना की मौजूदा भारतीय इकाई में नए शेयरों में 1,670 करोड़ रुपये तक के निवेश के माध्यम से प्राप्त करेगी।
20338. नए भारत की ताकत - स्पेस राकेट से हटाया US-जापान का झण्डा, सिर्फ लहरा भारतीय झंडा
- बुधवार को रूसी लान्च पैड पर रूसी अंतरिक्ष रॉकेट से भारत के तिरंगे को छोड़कर रूस ने अमेरिका ,जापान और ग्रेट ब्रिटेन के धब्ज को हटा दिया। इस पूरे मामले का वीडियो रूसी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी के प्रमुख दिमित्री रोगोजिन ने शेयर किया है।
- रोस्कोस्मोस दिग्गज रूसी स्पेस एजेंसी है। जैसे भारत की इसरो दुनिया भर के सेटेलाइट अपने रॉकेट से लॉन्च करती है वैसे ही रोस्कोस्मोस भी करती है।
- जहां भारतीय ध्वज रॉकेट पर लगा हुआ है, तो वहीं यूएस, जापान, यूके के झंडे हटाए जा रहे हैं। कजाकिस्तान के बैकोनूर में रूसी लॉन्च पैड से रूसी अंतरिक्ष रॉकेट से ये झंडे हटा दिए गए हैं

20339. MHA approves village defence groups for J&K, BJP says ‘will boost security grid of the UT’
- Ministry of Home Affairs gives a nod to the formation of Village Defence Groups (VDGs) in Jammu and Kashmir
- The members of the Village Defence Groups will be designated as Village Defence Guards
- They will function under the direction of the SP/SSP of the concerned district
20340. J&K Govt orders complete switchover to e-office mode.
- Jammu and Kashmir government today asked all Administrative Secretaries to direct HoDs working under their control to immediately switch over to e-office mode of working, underling that no physical files or daks shall be entertained in the civil secretariat from March 7.
- In September last year, the government had issued a circular requiring all Heads of the Department to switch over to e-office mode of working with “assistance and hand holding” from the Information Technology Department.
- All HoDs (move as well as non move) were provided the necessary assistance by the Information Technology Department, by way of provisioning of the VPN connections, creation of domain IDs (@jk.gov.in) and training of local admins/master trainers etc, the government said.
