20271. SPI, Adani Solar to promote solar energy usage in rural areas of 4 states
- Smart Power India (SPI) announced partnering with Adani Solar to encourage solar energy usage in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand ,Odisha. While SPI is a subsidiary of the US-based The Rockefeller Foundation, Adani Solar is the solar photovoltaic manufacturing arm of Adani Group.
- The MoU aims at promoting the usage of solar rooftop panels and achieving five megawatts (MW) of solar deployment through Adani Solar’s channel partners in rural and peri-urban areas of the said states, it said.
- Adani Solar Head (Retail) Cecil Augustine said, “We have a huge network of channel partners who will benefit from SPI’s vast experience and field expertise in furthering the adoption of renewable energy models like rooftop solar.”
20272. Kia rules Indian market with 'Made in India for the world' products
- The company set up its factory in Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh within two years. It began and completed the production of four products that were exclusively designed for India including Kia Seltos, Kia Sonet, Kia Carnival, and the latest Kia Carens.
- Kia has become one of the five best-selling car brands in India registering a cumulative sales figure of 5 lakh units. In thirty months, the company has managed to acquire a 6 per cent market share.
- Notably, it was also on the top as a utility vehicle exporter in CY2021 with a 25% market share.

20273. Over one lakh tourists visited Gulmarg in first two months
- In Jammu and Kashmir, over one lakh tourists have visited Gulmarg in the first two months of an ongoing year.
- An official of the tourism department told that in January and February 2022, over 1.5 lakh tourists have visited Gulmarg and among them over 80,000 tourists are domestic.
- He further added that in the month of January 49,193 tourists including one foreign tourist, 10,686 locals and 38,506 domestic tourists visited the famous tourist destination. He further added that in the month of February 56,154 tourists including 24 foreigners, 14,760 locals and 41,570 domestic tourists visited Gulmarg.
20274. Chandigarh admin clears decks for new technology for waste-to-energy plant
- The Chandigarh administration gave a nod to 'Expression of Interest' (EOI) and has called out to companies to come and set up such a plant in the city.
- The civic body had then sent a letter to various reputed engineering colleges in Punjab, requesting their financial quotation and preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and a proposal for the project.
- The work was given to IIT Roopnagar for Rs 26.77 crore.Last year, in July, during the House Meeting, a decision was taken that the dry waste produced in the city will be processed with waste-to-energy technology.

20275. 75 Jal Shakti Schemes completed, 161 nearing completion in Doda District
- The District administration Doda has started daily basis review and monitoring of progress of development projects to ensure their completion before the closing of the current financial year here under the supervision of District Development Commissioner Vikas Sharma.
- The DDC was informed that 75 Jal Shakti Schemes have been completed and another 161 are nearing completion across Doda District.
- The works include projects taken up under Regular, NABARD, JJM, PRI grants and B2V schemes of Jal Shakti (PHE) department.
20276. GCOE organizes health & wellness camp
- Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu in association with Directorate of AYUSH J&K organized a health and wellness medical camp ‘Ayusamvad’ in its campus.
- The student and faculty members of the College got medical checkup done by the AYUSH doctors.
- Herbal medicines, immunity boosters and supplements were also distributed to more than hundred students which participated in the program.
20277. Trial run of electric feeder buses starts in Kochi
- A trial run of two electric feeder bus services from metro stations to different locations in the city and suburbs has been started by the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL).
- The buses are being operated from Aluva metro station to Angamaly and Edappally metro station to North Paravur.
- KMRL is also planning to conduct services from its 10 major stations to different destinations on the outskirts of the city. The air-conditioned (AC) electric bus services will be operated to Infopark, North Paravur, Cochin Special Economic Zone, Tripunithura, Aroor and Thoppumpady.
20278. IMT Kharkhoda to be fully developed by 2023 end
- IMT Kharkhoda will be fully developed by the end of the year 2023. Just as the surrounding area has developed due to the arrival of various companies in Gurugram district, similarly, due to the development of IMT in Kharkhoda, the neighboring districts of Jind, Panipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar etc will also be developed along with it doors for various Employment opportunities will open in the area.
- In this IMT, the process of tender has been started for sewerage, light and road which will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 237.35 crore.
- HSIIDC had acquired 3217.19 acres of land in the year 2013 for the development of IMT Kharkhoda in district Sonipat. In this, according to the approved present engineer plan of March 19, 2020, out of 3217.19 acres, 1243.28 acres are for industrial plots and the rest for other purposes such as institutional use (147.61 acres), commercial use (171.51 acres), public utility/building (168.47 acres, R & R plot (109.29 acres), R & R pocket and land integration (pooling) plot / housing (163.58 acres) and reserved for green belt, open space etc. He further stated that there are 2965 plots for general industry.

- Amrit Jyoti Gulmarg Winter Festival-2022, organised by Indian Army in collaboration with GDA, J&K Tourism and the Gulmarg Hotel Association, commenced.
- The breathtaking stunts by team of ‘High Altitude Warfare School’ was the showstopper, while the snow cycle race and sledge race were a treat to watch in which competitors left no stone unturned to win the races.
- There was a huge rush at Gulmarg as locals including students from schools, colleges and NCC cadets turned out in huge numbers along with tourists.
