19921. Indian plant-based foods sector poised for 'explosive growth', says Patel
- The delegation, led by the Association’s Executive Director briefed the Union Minister on the state of the nascent but rapidly expanding plant-based food sector in India.
- The global plant-based food market is expected to reach 77.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2025.
- Noting that the sector was poised for explosive growth, Sethi sought the Union Minister’s guidance and support to turn it into a major industry catering to both domestic and global markets through policy changes, capacity building, enabling ease of business and other interventions.

19922. Bengaluru-Mysuru 10-lane stretch to be ready by December 2022
- The long-awaited road project- a 10-lane stretch from Bengaluru to Mysuru is likely to be ready by December 2022.
- Minister for Public Works Department, Govt of Karnataka, C C Patil said the work on the stretch is expected to be completed by December this year, adding that a committee will be constituted to inspect the quality of the underpass and service roads on this stretch.

- There have been over 2.5 lakh passengers on the Metro rail since its launch.

19924. Toyota Mirai, India's 1st hydrogen-based fuel-cell e-car, starts pilot study The Toyota Mirai FCEV is capable of running up to 646 km on a single charge.
- Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched India's first all-hydrogen electric vehicle Mirai as part of its pilot project with the International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT). The Toyota Mirai FCEV is one of the first hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles in the world and it runs on pure hydrogen generated electricity.
- The pilot project comes as part of the Indian government's strategy to push greener and cleaner fuel solutions for the country's vehicle fleet. Besides the battery electric vehicles, the government is also pushing the hydrogen fuel cell as an alternative fuel solution against petrol and diesel.
- The Toyota Mirai FCEV sedan comes equipped with a high-pressure hydrogen fuel tank, an electric motor. The powertrain breaks the hydrogen into water and oxygen and generates energy from it. Instead of emitting gas like internal combustion engines, the hydrogen fuel cell powertrain emits water from the tailpipe.
- The second-generation iteration of the Toyota Mirai FCEV will be built at the Toyota Kirloskar Motors' plant in Karnataka, said the automaker. It was introduced globally in December 2020. The car is claimed to come with a refuelling time of five minutes. It is capable of running a range of up to 646 km on a full tank.
19925. Tata Will Spend Rs 15,000 Crore To Make Electric Cars! 10 New EVs Will Launch In 5 Yrs
- Tata Motors is among the other several car manufacturers to make investments in the electric vehicle industry. The carmaker is planning to invest Rs. 15000 crores in the electric vehicle industry over the next five years, as confirmed by a top-level company official.
- Tata Motors has already raised 1 billion USD in funding from private equity major TPG in its EV division. This puts the value of the business at USD 9.1 billion.
- The president was speaking at an event that was Organised to deliver a batch of 101 electric vehicles to the residents of the city of Aurangabad. This has been a part of the Aurangabad Mission for Green Mobility (AMGM) by local groups.
19926. Delhi To Meerut In 55 Minutes! India’s 1st Rapid Rail Is 3-Times Faster Than Metro
- India’s first rapid rail was unveiled by the National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC), boasting swanky features.
- The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) train will run on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor and cover a distance of 82 km in just 55 minutes.
- The corridor will have 25 stations, including two depots at Duhai and Modipuram and one stabling yard at Jangpura. 90% work is completed on the 17-km priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai and will be inaugurated by 2023. It will have five stations – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. The estimated daily passenger load is around 8 lakh passengers. The entire corridor is expected to be ready by 2025.
19927. Agra: Construction of 171 piers for metro priority stretch completed
- The Agra metro project aimed at providing rapid transit connectivity within the city of Taj Mahal has completed the construction of 171 pillars of the high priority route running from Taj Gate (East) to Fatehabad Road.
- These pillars will support the nearly 3 km long elevated section of the 29.4 km long corridor for metro carriages.
- The team of Agra Metro Project has proven its dedication and hard work by completing the installation of 171 piers, in a short span of 1 year and 3 months, since the commencement of civil construction of the project.
19928. Godrej Properties sells 855 homes worth Rs 1,650 crore in Noida project
- Godrej Properties entered the NCR Market in 2010 and has, until now, added 18 residential, commercial and township projects across five cities, with seven projects having already been delivered and 11 in various stages of development.
- Earlier this week, Godrej Properties bought about 50 acres of land parcel at Sonipat in Haryana for plotted development as part of its plan to expand business across major cities.
- This is the second major land deal by Godrej Properties in the Delhi-NCR area. In February 2020, it had acquired a nearly 27-acre land parcel in the national capital for Rs 1,359 crore to develop a luxury housing project.

19929. PepsiCo India partners N Drip to help farmers to enhance water efficiency
- Food and beverages major PepsiCo India on announced a partnership with N-Drip, a manufacturer of gravity-powered micro-irrigation system, to help farmers in India increase water efficiency.
- This is part of a global partnership between PepsiCo and N-Drip, aimed at increasing water efficiency across 10,000 hectares around the world by 2025,
- N-Drip’s technology has already been introduced in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan to improve water efficiency levels across thousands of hectares in the country by 2025
19930. Tripura govt hikes tea garden workers' daily wages by Rs 31
- Tripura government has increased daily wages of tea garden workers from the existing Rs 105 to Rs 136. The new payment structure will come into effect from April 2022.
- Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the daily wages of these workers will go up by Rs 31 to Rs 136 after revision, The chief minister also interacted with Tripura Cha Sramik workers at his residence
- More than 7,000 families dependent on tea estates in the state are expected to benefit from this wage revision under the 'Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Prakalp' scheme, which is aimed at the welfare of tea garden workers.
