19901. B’luru to get integrated command and control centre
- The Bengaluru Smart City will establish an integrated command centre (ICCC) at the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) headquarters to bring 14 different departments serving Bengaluru city and create a system to address public grievances.
- The ICCC that Bengaluru Smart City Ltd (BSCL) is in the process of establishing will bring together 14 different departments on a single platform. BSCL managing director Rajendra Cholan said the ICCC will be made operational in next 100 days.
- The ICCC is being established for ₹90 crore and will assist officials in making decisions that are beneficial to the city and its residents. In addition, BSCL intends to build modern control rooms in each of the BBMP’s eight zonal offices.

19902. Lectro F2i: Now here is a fully loaded electric cycle
- The Hero Lectro series of electric cycles have been setting new benchmarks in India. Hero tried out quite a few versions of the E-Bike in the past and came up rather impressed
- The Lectro F2i comes with a RFID chip which is required to activate the ride modes. It is a very handy thing to have and increases safety. However one can ride it off on pedal power alone if the chip is not available.
- The Lectro F2i offers an all-electric range of 27km. But this can go up to 35km when ridden in Pedalec mode which means you pedal as you go along and the motor assists you. Three Pedalec modes are offered which include 'low', 'medium', and 'high'.

- Indian pharmaceutical companies may replace the Western manufacturers leaving the Russian market, the Russian ambassador to India said
- The withdrawal of many Western companies from the Russian market and those niches that have been vacated may actually be occupied by Indian companies in many industries, in particular, in pharmaceuticals,
- Denis Alipov, the newly-appointed Russian envoy, told the Rossiya 24 broadcaster that India is a “world pharmacy” and leading manufacturer of generic drugs that are not inferior to the original, reported Sputnik news agency.

19905. Indian Coast Guard's fifth offshore patrol vessel Saksham commissioned in Goa
- Indian Coast Guard's (ICG) fifth offshore patrol vessel 'Saksham' was commissioned in Goa by Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar on 16 march 2022, an official statement said.
- The 105-meter offshore patrol vessel [OPV] has been designed and built indigenously by Goa Shipyard Limited and is fitted with advanced technology, navigation and communication equipment, sensors, and machinery

19906. Visakhapatnam railway station to implement Centre's 'One Station, One Product'
- The Central government announced “One Station One Product” in the recent budget. The Vishakapatnam station would be the first station in the East Coast Railway to implement the concept. It would be running on a pilot basis for a period of 15 days.
- Being located very close to the famous Etikoppaka lacquer ware toy manufacturing village, Etikoppaka toys and handicraft products from the village will be showcased and sold at the Vishakapatnam station.
- The Divisional Commercial Manager informed that temporary stalls would be erected at the station for sale and showcasing the handicraft and the interested parties may submit their applications to the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager.
19907. Built in 45 days, Rajnath Singh inaugurates DRDO's new facility
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on 17 march 2022 inaugurated a seven-storey building constructed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in a record 45 days in Karnataka's capital city, Bengaluru.
- The Flight Control System (FCS) Complex at Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) is a seven-storeyed building with a plinth area of 1.3 lakh square feet.
- DRDO has completed the construction of a multi-storeyed (G 6) infrastructure for Flight Control System at ADE Bengaluru with in-house developed Hybrid technology consisting of conventional, pre-engineered and precast methodology.
- All structural design norms as per relevant IS Codes and relevant codes have been adhered to. Design checks and technical support were provided by IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee teams.

19908. Direct tax collections revised to Rs 1 lakh crore
- Net direct tax collections till March 16 in the current fiscal year (FY22) stood at Rs13.63 lakh crore, a growth rate of over 48.4 percent, showed official data released
- Advance tax collections for FY22, including the fourth installment in March, stood at Rs 6.63 lakh crore, a growth rate of about 41 percent, underscoring the sustained economic recovery even after the second Covid-19 wave.
- The Centre had direct tax collections of Rs 11.08 lakh crore for FY22, which was revised to Rs12.50 lakh crore in the Budget for FY23.

19909. CNG retailer Indraprastha Gas launches EV battery swapping station 'Energy Cafe'
- CNG retailer Indraprastha Gas (IGL) has partnered with Pune-based electric vehicle manufacturer Kinetic Green to launch a battery-swapping station, called Energy Cafe.
- The facility will replace discharged batteries of two-and three-wheeler EVS with a fully charged one. Under the partnership, both these companies are looking to roll out a deep network of battery swapping stations, starting with the Delhi region.
- While IGL will provide the infrastructure for setting up of these swapping stations, Kinetic Green will play the role of the technology partner, provide EV domain knowledge, and help create and bring EV population to the swapping stations.
19910. Pune Airport to Get New Integrated Terminal Building, to Be Ready in 18 Months
- The new Integrated Terminal Building with world-class facilities and enhanced capacity is 55 per cent ready and scheduled for completion in 18 months
- Being built by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at a cost of Rs 475 crore, it will be spread over 750,000 square feet, including the existing terminal building that has 250,000 square feet.
- The energy-efficient terminal with a four-star GRIHA rating, with a huge canopy on the city side of the present building and the new Integrated Terminal, would impart a magnificent look to the Pune Airport from the city side. An area of nearly 36,000 sq. ft has been earmarked for retail, food and beverages outlets for the passengers, a 36-metre long verandah and other amenities.
