23021. सीपीआरआई शिमला ने आलू से बनाई जलेबी, आठ माह तक नहीं होगी खराब
- केंद्रीय आलू अनुसंधान संस्थान (सीपीआरआई) शिमला के वैज्ञानिकों ने आलू की लजीज और करारी जलेबी तैयार की है। अभी तक आलू के चिप्स, फ्रेंच फ्राई, कुकीज और दलिया ही तैयार किया जाता रहा है, लेकिन अब उपभोक्ताओं के लिए आलू की स्वादिष्ट और कुरकुरी जलेबी भी खाने के लिए मिलेगी। आलू की इस जलेबी का आठ माह तक स्वाद नहीं बिगडे़गा और चासनी में डुबोकर इसका लुत्फ उठाया जा सकेगा।
- सीपीआरआई के वैज्ञानिकों ने आलू से जलेबी बनाने के फार्मूले का पेटेंट भी करा दिया है। यानी, आलू की जलेबी का फार्मूला बेचकर संस्थान अतिरिक्त कमाई भी कर सकेगा। जलेबी की बिक्री के लिए नामी कंपनियों से करार किया जा रहा है। आईटीसी जैसे नामी कंपनियों से आलू की जलेबी के लिए बातचीत की जा रही है, ताकि डिब्बा बंद जलेबी परोसी जा सके।
- आलू की जलेबी बनाने में आलू छिलके के साथ इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। छिलके में ज्यादा फाइबर होता है और आलू का स्टार्च जलेबी में कुरकुरापन लाता है।
23022. क्रिकेट की नाकामी ने निकाली खेती में कामयाबी की राह
- सपनों के टूटने से किस तरह नए सपने संजोते हुए जिंदगी को सफलता की राह दिखाई जाती है, यह अरविंद से सीखना चाहिए। बचपन से क्रिकेटर बनने का जुनून था। इस सपने के साथ वे वर्ष 2019 में बेंगलुरु गए। मगर राह नहीं खुल पाई। घर लौटे तो निराशा में डूबे हुए थे।
- फुफेरे भाई ने उन्हें खेती करने के लिए प्रेरित किया। बात जम गई। अरविंद ने पुश्तैनी साढ़े तीन एकड़ बंजर जमीन को खेती योग्य बनाया और टमाटर लगाया। इस तरह सात माह में ही उन्होंने करीब 12 लाख रुपये की आमदनी कर ली है। इतना ही नहीं, वे करीब 60 लोगों को रोजगार भी दे रहे हैं।
- अब तक वे करीब 22 लाख रुपये का टमाटर बेच चुके हैं। इसमें अब तक का सारा खर्च करीब 10 लाख रुपये निकाल दें तो भी 12 लाख रुपये तक का मुनाफा हुआ है।
23023. 1st S-400 unit to be ready by April, 4 others by 2023
- India has begun work on deploying the S-400 Triumf advanced surface-to-air missile defence system, with the first unit to be made operational in April, HT learns.
- All the five units of the S-400 system, which can take down a hostile aircraft or missile at a range between 40km and 400km, are expected to be operational by next year. The S-400 system was purchased from Russia through a $5-billion deal signed in October 2018.
- The Indian Army and the Chinese PLA are locked in a stand-off across the 597km-long Ladakh LAC since May 2020, with Beijing reluctant to restore the April 2020 status quo ante in Gogra-Hot Springs and restore India’s unhindered patrolling rights in Depsang Bulge in Daulet Beg Oldi (DBO) sector and Charding Nullah Junction (CNJ) in Demchok sector.

23024. BEL Says Its New Drone Can Prevent Pathankot-Style Attack
- In the 2016 attack, at least six heavily armed militants dressed in Indian Army uniforms had breached the outer fence of Air Station Pathankot, Punjab, potentially crossing over using eucalyptus trees growing alongside the fence while exploiting faulty floodlights in that part of the perimeter. They had possibly then used elephant grass inside the airfield to mask their approach.
- BEL’s answer is the Tethered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, a 9-kg unmanned drone that can loiter in a fixed position above airfields and army bases, providing 360-degree surveillance capability.
- At the heart of the machine is its camera equipment: one a CCD video camera with a range of two kilometres in daylight plus an EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red thermal camera with a range of 600 metres.

23026. 46 STARTUPS ANNOUNCED WINNERS OF THE NATIONAL STARTUP AWARDS 2021 ALONG WITH 1 INCUBATOR AND 1 ACCELERATOR
- A total of 2177 applications were received from Startupsacross the 49 sub-sectors along with applications from 53 incubators and 6 accelerators for the ecosystem enablerscategories. These applicants included 863 Women-led, 414 innovations for combatting COVID-19 and 253 Startupsworking in rural areas.
- After three rounds of detailed evaluation, 175 Startups were selected for presentation before the jury which made presentations before the 16 specialist jury panels, which comprised of domain experts from industry, investors and government.

23027. Ministry of Electronics, IT invites applications from domestic companies for semiconductor chip design
- the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is seeking applications from 100 domestic companies, start-ups and MSMEs under its Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme.

23030. Renuka Ji dam project: Construction to begin in December 2022
- “The construction for the project is expected to start by December 2022 and will be completed in six years. The project will provide approximately 13.14 lakh man days of work. In line with the resettlement and rehabilitation policy, programmes to enhance the employability of the local youth will also be conducted.
- The plan for Catchment Area Treatment works with a total outlay of Rs 1,60,34,25,000 has been included in the overall scheme. After commissioning of the project, one per cent of the annual revenue will be distributed to the beneficiaries in the affected area every year,” said a spokesperson of the state government.
- “The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Renuka Ji dam was accepted by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Department of Water Resources in 2000 for a total price of Rs 1,224.64 crore. However, the project could not progress much owing to some reasons. The DPR of the project with an estimated cost of Rs 4,596.76 crore was again accepted by the TAC in 2015.
