22991. A look at how strong is India's military strength for 2022
- With the strength of 1.45 lakh active military manpower, India is ranked fourth for the year 2022 Global Firepower (GFP) annual defense review.
- A total of 140 countries were considered. Each country is evaluated on a multitude of factors related to a prolonged offensive or defensive military campaign and the GFP list was compiled on the basis of the PwrIndx rating. India holds a power index score of 0.0979.

22992. Tata Motors to drive in 50,000 EVs in FY23: Reports
- Tata Motors plans to produce 50,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in the upcoming financial year starting April,
- The auto major told vendors it would ramp up annual production to 125,000-150,000 EVs in the next two years, The Economic Times reported quoting sources.
- If the company achieves 50,000 units in FY23, the share of EVs would rise to 12 percent of its total targeted volumes.
22993. Indian Railways Green target: Check out the progress made on 100% electrification mission
- The Railway Ministry plans for 100 per cent electrification across the Indian Railways network. According to the Ministry of Finance, India aims to be the world’s first 100 per cent green railway with net zero emission by the year 2030.
- , in the previous Union Budget, had stated complete electrification of the rail network, the ministry claimed that environment-friendly electrification of the Indian Railways in the country has increased nearly ten times since the year 2014.
- In the earlier budget, the government had announced that Broad Gauge Route Kilometres (RKM) electrified is likely to reach 46,000 RKM i.e., 72 per cent by end of 2021 from 41,548 RKM on 1 October 2020. Below is the progress made on electrification so far:

22994. Russian co starts manufacturing N-reactor for last unit of Kudankulam N-plant
- Giving a leg-up to the construction work at the Kudankulam nuclear plant project, Atommash-AEM-Technologies, a part of machine-building division of Russian atomic energy corporation Rosatom, has started manufacturing a nuclear reactor and steam generators for unit No. 6 of the plant in Tamil Nadu
- The reactor and steam generator shells have passed the inspection and items are at initial operations of the manufacturing cycle. Construction on the last unit (No. 6) was officially launched last December.
- The first power unit of the Kudankulam plant has been steadily operating at the design capacity level of 1,000 MW since February 2016. The second unit was included in the national grid of the country in August 2016
22995. Pune: Tech startup initiative ‘Covid Helpdesk’ provides solutions through chatbot service
- Mumbai-based tech startup Machadalo has come up with a Covid-19 information service that functions in the form of a WhatsApp chatbot. Named ‘Covid Helpdesk’, the service provides solutions in about 540 of the 742 districts in the country,
- Users can communicate with the chatbot on WhatsApp by initiating a conversation with the number 7208880208. It provides the user with a menu from which a particular category of information and a city could be chosen.
- It also lists out examples of queries like oxygen cylinders in Guwahati, beds in Mysore, doctors in Maharashtra and so on.
22996. Centre announces loan guarantee scheme for health infrastructure
- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the allocation of Rs 23,220 crore will be used to enhance human resource capabilities by funding for recruitment of medical and nursing students along with increasing the availability of ICU beds, oxygen supply at central, district and subdistrict level.
- The additional allocation will also finance equipment, medicines, access to teleconsultation, ambulance services.
- In addition to child care, these funds will also be used to increase testing capacity and supportive diagnostics, and strengthen the capacity for surveillance and genome sequencing.

- श्री मांडविया ने कहा कि कंपनी की कोरपोरेट सामाजिक जिम्मेदारी परियोजना के रूप में 500 लीटर प्रति मिनट क्षमता वाला स्विंग एडजोर्पशन आक्सीजन संयंत्र स्थापित किया गया है।
22998. Laurus Labs receives licence from DRDO to manufacture and market COVID drug 2DG
- 2DG has been given emergency approval by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for use on COVID-19 patients in the country, Laurus Labs said in a regulatory filing
- Hyderabad Based Laurus Labs has already applied with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) for emergency use authorization (EUA) for 2DG," it added.
- On June 28, pharma major Dr Reddy's announced the commercial launch of 2DG at a maximum retail price of Rs 990 per sachet.
22999. Health Ministry launches informational video series ‘COVID GuruKool’ on social media platforms
- COVID GuruKool is aimed at disseminating authentic information on COVID-19 pandemic and its vaccination program.
- Leading public health experts, policy makers, doctors, scientists and health professionals will participate in the series.
- This will help in sensitisation of people towards Covid appropriate behaviour and bust the myths around the vaccines.

- The Peak Supply of 4749 MT Liquid Medical Oxygen during Pandemic 165 Oxygen Concentrators and 4 PSA Plants established by Steel PSUs
- The steps taken by steel sector to fight the Covid-19 pandemic and bring relief to the people include: - Enhancing Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) production and supply; Earmarking beds for Covid patients in hospitals within the steel plants; Establishment of Jumbo Covid Care facilities using supply of gaseous oxygen; Commissioning of Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) units in steel plants;
- Arranging additional ventilators, Oxygen concentrators, CPAP machines; Organizing vaccination drives.
