22981. Railways to install Oxygen plants at 86 rly hospitals across India
- Indian Railways have taken preparatory measures to provide better medical facilities at Railway Hospital. Oxygen plants will be installed at WCR’s Central Hospitals of Jabalpur, Bhopal and Kota Division
- Oxygen plant to be installed at Central Railway Hospital of Jabalpur can supply Liquified Medical Oxygen at 600 Lt./min. The Oxygen plants will work on Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Gas method. The Oxygen plants will have three units namely Refrigeration air-drying unit, twin tower PSA module and Oxygen storage tanks.
- The Oxygen plants will provide uninterrupted supply of Oxygen to Covid-19 patients. The Oxygen plants will be functional within next 2-3 months.
22982. Shilpa Medicare receives DRDO approval for manufacture and sale of 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose
- 2DG has been given emergency approval by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for COVID-19 patients in the country.
- Shilpa Medicare is only the second company in India to have entered into similar arrangement with DRDO
- Shilpa has been continuously striving to contribute towards the fight against COVID-19 and this is yet another step by Shilpa after its recently announced arrangement for manufacture and supply of Sputnik V vaccine.
22983. Injection for Black Fungus: ब्लैक फंगस से लोगों की जान बचाने जबलपुर में बनेंगे एम्फोरेवा इंजेक्शन
- मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने कहा कि जबलपुर में निर्मित ब्लैक फंगस के इंजेक्शन देश और दुनिया में मरीजों की जान बचाएंगे।
- रेवा क्योर लाइफ साइंसेज मध्य प्रदेश की एकमात्र फार्मा कंपनी है जो ब्लैक फंगस के इंजेक्शन बना रही है।
- इस इंजेक्शन के लिए अब बाहर जाने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी।कंपनी ने पहली खेप में 8000 एम्फोटेरिसिन-बी इंजेक्शन का निर्माण किया है तथा 30000 इंजेक्शन के निर्माण के लिए उपयोगी कच्चा माल मौजूद है।
22984. भारतीय पासपोर्ट हुआ ताकतवर, भारतीय पासपोर्टधारक विश्व के 59 देशों में बिना वीजा के कर सकते हैं यात्रा
- हेनले पासपोर्ट इंडेक्स में भारतीय पासपोर्ट रैंकिंग में सुधार हुआ है। इंटरनेशनल एयर ट्रांसपोर्ट एसोसिएशन के द्वारा जारी किए गए आंकड़ों को ध्यान में रखते हुए भारत अब दुनिया के ताकतवर पासपोर्ट रैंकिंग के देशों में आता है।
- हेनले पासपोर्ट इंडेक्स भारतीय पासपोर्ट सात पायदान चढ़कर 83 वें स्थान पर पहुंच चुका है। रैंकिंग में सुधार होने से भारतीय पासपोर्ट धारक अब 59 देशों में बिना वीजा लिए यात्रा कर सकते हैं। किसी भी देश के पासपोर्ट की ताकत इस बात पर आधारित होती है कि उस देश के पासपोर्ट से कितने देशों में बिना वीजा के यात्रा की जा सकती है।
- इस रैंकिंग के बाद भारतीय पासपोर्ट का रुतबा विश्व भर में बढ़ गया है।

22985. BHU scientists research ways to cure chronic wounds
- The research will benefit those suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, chronic wound infections etc.
- The research is being carried out by the laboratory for Bacteriophage Research, department of Microbiology, Institute of Medical Sciences and Banaras Hindu University
- The scientists carried out phage therapy of acute and chronic infected wounds in animals and clinical studies. It was shown efficacy against Pseudomonas aeruginosa in a mice wound model. Furthermore, they evaluated the efficacy of phage cocktails in animal models’ acute and chronic osteomyelitis caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Moreover, they also observed biofilm eradication from K wire in rabbits' wound infection model.
22986. HAL likely to be in fray for Navy’s NUHs after defence ministry junks Coast Guard chopper deal
- The Ministry of Defence is likely to allow state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to bid for the Navy’s programme to buy 111 naval utility helicopters (NUHs), as the Narendra Modi government reviews all foreign procurement programmes in favour of indigenous systems,
- In 2019, HAL had stumped the Indian private industry and foreign players when it submitted two bids for the Expression of Interest issued by the Navy for the NUH programme — one by itself and another through its joint venture with Russian Helicopters, which is meant to produce the Kamov chopper.
- HAL has proven its blade-folding capability to the Navy and if the Coast Guard can forgo plans to buy foreign helicopters in favour of HAL, there is no rationale of not including HAL in the competition for NUH.

22987. EV charging stations: govt allows setting up of charging stations without licensing
- New EV norms let any individual set up a PCS (public charging station) without any license. Guidelines target a PCS in every 3 kms range for cities and a 25 kms range for highways. The private sector will get land at a bidding price of Rs 1 per unit revenue share per floor.
- The government of India has allowed any individual to set up a public charging station(PCS) without any license. The government and public agencies will be offered land at Rs 1 per unit over a 10 years revenue-sharing agreement. On the other hand, the private sector will get land at a bidding price of Rs 1 per unit revenue share per floor. The tariff of PCS has been capped to not exceed the 15 per cent average cost of supply till March 2025.
- The guidelines also target a PCS in every three-km range in cities and a PCS within a 25-km range on highways within the next 3-5 years. With this move, the government plans to lower the transportation carbon emission with COP26 commitment.
22988. Meet IAS officer Govind Jaiswal, a rickshaw-puller's son who secured AIR 48 in UPSC exam in first attempt
- Govind Jaiswal cleared the UPSC examination in 2006 at the age of 22 and secured All India Rank 48. But the hard work and struggle behind this success is an inspiration for every student.
- Govind's father became a rickshaw puller from a rickshaw owner for the sake of his son's studies. In spite of an ailment in the leg, Govind's studies were not hampered.
- Govind also put his hard work into studies and secured 48th rank in the first attempt of UPSC in 2006.
22989. Tata Power arm commissions 100 MW solar projects in Uttar Pradesh
- Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has commissioned two solar power projects of 50 MW each at Prayagraj and Banda in Uttar Pradesh.
- approximately 1,59,600 modules were used in the project at Prayagraj and the installation is expected to reduce 91,137 lakh tons of carbon emission every year.
- With the addition of this 100 MW capacity, the renewable capacity in operation for Tata Power has increased to 3,055 MW, with 2,123 MW of solar and 932 MW of wind. The company has another 1,854 MW of renewable projects under various stages of implementation.
22990. Apple, Samsung Could Make In India Smartphones Worth Over ₹37,000 Crore This Year
- Smartphone makers Apple and Samsung are expected to make phones worth $5 billion (over Rs 37,000) crores in the FY2022 under the government’s PLI scheme, going past the target of 50 percent set by the central government, according to government officials and industry executives.
- Apple’s second-largest global manufacturer after Foxconn, Pegatron, is expected to commence manufacturing in India in the coming months. Bharat FIH, on the other hand, is only making smartphones for Xiaomi. Since the company mostly makes phones of less than Rs 15,000 per unit, the company doesn't qualify for incentives under the PLI scheme.
- The threshold is Rs 4,000 crores for the first year, Rs 8,000 crores in the second, Rs 15,000 crores in the third, Rs 20,000 crores in the fourth and Rs 25,000 crore in the fifth year.
