1511. Railways install direct unlocking system at Dinanagar Station
- On July 26, 2025, in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway, in a significant achievement for Indian Railways, announced the installation of the first direct unlocking system at Dinanagar Railway Station.
- This system is expected to improve efficiency and safety in railway operations, and the system directly controls the railway signalling and point machinery, thereby reducing the chances of human error.
- The direct unlocking system ensures that the safe passage of trains is ensured, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. An important feature of this system is also that this system streamlines the movement of trains, and improves the efficiency of train operations.
1512. 4 lanes, 9 flyovers & 6 underpasses: New ₹325 crore highway to link south Haryana & Rajasthan
- On July 26, 2025, Central government approved ₹325 crore highway project to improve road connectivity between Haryana and Rajasthan, aiming to boost regional development and ease traffic.
- The project is expected to enhance logistics efficiency, reduce travel time and support economic activities, particularly benefiting rural and semi-urban regions.
- The project will strengthen infrastructure under the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme, contributing to national highway network expansion.

1513. Kaveri Derivative Engine Gets Rs 723 Crore Funding To Power India’s Unmanned Combat Aircraft
- On 25 July 2025,The Central government has sanctioned Rs 723.59 crore towards two projects under the Kaveri Derivative Engine (KDE) programme to power India’s future unmanned combat aircraft, as informed in the Lok Sabha.
- The projects include a Flightworthy Dry Engine (₹472.42 crore) and a Technology Demonstrator (₹251.17 crore). The Kaveri Derivative Engine is a non-afterburning adaptation of the original Kaveri engine, which has been repurposed for unmanned aircraft after falling short of thrust requirements for the Tejas fighter.
- The Defence minister said that DRDO has established 15 DRDO Industry Academia Centres of Excellence (DIA-CoE) across the country to encourage directed research for developing new technologies for defence and security in identified areas.
1514. PM Modi and President Muizzu inaugurate Maldives' defence ministry building
- Prime Minister of India ,and Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu on 25 July, 2025 jointly inaugurated a state-of-the-art building of the defence ministry of Maldives in Male.
- The prime minister also handed over 72 vehicles and equipment for use by the Maldives National Defence Force.
- "India will continue to support Maldives in the development of its defence capabilities. Peace, stability and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region is our common goal," PM said.

1515. India, Maldives recalibrate ties with Rs 4,850 crore credit line, push for FTA, defence cooperation
- India and the Maldives on 25 July,2025 unveiled a significant reset in bilateral relations, with Prime Minister of India announcing a ₹4,850 crore line of credit and a new framework for expanding cooperation in trade, defence, infrastructure, and digital connectivity.
- The two nations agreed to move swiftly on finalising a bilateral investment treaty and launched negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
- Relations began to thaw after India stepped in to help the Maldives avert a potential debt default, offering economic support as the tourism-dependent nation grappled with falling revenues in its $7.5 billion economy.
- Another outcome was the signing of a network-to-network agreement between NPCI International and the Maldives Monetary Authority to enable India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in the island nation. “Once the technical integration is completed, people will be able to use UPI in the Maldives,” Misri said.
1516. Odisha Government approves 178 MW solar and wind projects worth ₹869.8 crore
- On 26 July 2025,It was reported that , the Odisha government approved solar and wind energy projects with a total capacity of 178 MW, to be developed at an investment of ₹869.8 crore. The approval was granted by the Energy Department's single window committee On 23, July 2025.
- Among the approved projects is a 69.5 mw solar park to be developed by Prozeal Green Energy Limited at Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur district, and INOX Solar Limited's 49.5 mw solar project at Telkoi in Keonjhar.
- With these additions, the total renewable energy capacity approved by the committee has now reached 1,844.86 mw, attracting cumulative investment commitments of ₹12,599.79 crore.
1517. Centre clears Rs 29,558 crore for indigenous defence technology development
- On 26, July 2025, The Indian government has approved projects worth Rs29,558.66 crore for the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) over the past three years 2023, 2024 and mid-2025 to strengthen indigenous defence capabilities.
- Two projects related to Kaveri Derivative Engine(KDE) have been approved for power unmanned combat aircraft. Flightworthy Kaveri Dry Engine Development at a cost of Rs 472.42 crore and Technology Demonstration of Kaveri Derivative 'Dry' Engine at Rs 251.17 crore.
- To boost defence innovation, the government is enhancing civil-military ties through early industry involvement, DcPPs and DRDO’s Industry Academia Centres of Excellence (DIA-CoE). The Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC) is aligning drone and aircraft certification with global standards. DRDO has also introduced a new policy with zero transfer of technology fees and no royalty for companies supplying to the Indian Armed Forces.
1518. Bharat's First Sports Arbitration Centre Launched in Gujarat
- On 26 September 2021, Bharat took a major step toward reforming its sports ecosystem with the launch of the country’s first Sports Arbitration Centre in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

1519. Tata Power Renewables Commissions 431 MWp Solar Plant At Neemuch Under RUMSL, Capable Of Powering Nearly 95% Of Indore City
- On 25 July, 2025 It was reported that, In Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. successfully developed a 431 MWp DC solar power project, completed in 17 months, significantly boosting India’s clean energy capacity and low-carbon goals.
- Spread over 2,000 acres and equipped with 765,408 bifacial modules and single-axis solar trackers, the system improves energy yield by 15%, producing around 9 crore units annually—enough to power 95% of Indore's needs.
- The project will supply green power to Western Central Railways and MPPMCL, cutting 7.8 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions yearly and supporting India's target of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, reinforcing Tata’s leadership in renewable energy.
1520. BEL to Deliver Air Defence Radars Worth ₹2,000 Cr to Indian Army Under Atmanirbhar Bharat Push
- On 25 July, 2025, The Ministry of Defence signed a ₹2,000 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the supply of advance Air Defence Fire Control Radars to the Indian Army in new Delhi.
- The agreement was exchanged in the presence of Defence Secretary and senior officials from both MoD and BEL. With over 70% made in India components, the radars offer advanced detection of threats like enemy fighter jets, attack helicopters and drones.
- The initiative supports economic growth and strengthens the national industrial base in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
