671. Kavach 4.0 Installed On 654 Km Of Rail Network As Rollout Gathers Pace Across India
- On 25 November 2025. Kavach 4.0 has been deployed across 654 km of track, covering 155 stations and 2,892 locomotives, with recent commissioning of the 324 km Kota–Mathura, 225 km Kota–Nagda, and 105 km Howrah–Bardhaman sections forming a 549 km continuous corridor.
- Between April–September 2025, ₹351.49 crore was allocated, bringing total spending since 2020 to ₹2,268.34 crore.
- covering the 1.13 lakh km network in six years is unrealistic at the current pace, though Railways claim progress is accelerating with more suppliers now being approved.
672. ISRO offers satellite support to Railways to boost communication systems
- On 24 Nov 2025, At the 68th Annual Day of IRISET in Tarnaka, Secunderabad , ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan offered Indian Railways access to ISRO’s spare transponder capacity and outlined an expanded satellite plan to strengthen signalling and train communications.
- ISRO framed the support as a practical step to improve real-time connectivity and signalling safety and proposed using satellites plus mapped flood-prone zones so planners can avoid routing new lines/roads through vulnerable areas a combined satellite-comms geospatial risk-mapping approach.
- With satellite support, Indian Railways can monitor trains in real-time even in remote areas where terrestrial networks may be weak.

673. Centre Approves Funds to Curb Landslide Risks on NH-154A in Himachal
- On November 24, 2025, it was reported that The Central Government has approved ₹93.55 crore for special repairs of embankments along vulnerable stretches of NH-154A in Himachal Pradesh, following repeated monsoon damage and persistent requests from the State Government.
- The project, covering the Chakki–Banikhet–Chamba–Bharmour route, has received full technical and administrative clearance and targets 30% completion by 2025–26, full completion by 2026–27, with structured maintenance planned till 2031–32.
- Strengthening NH-154A is expected to enhance road safety, reduce monsoon-related disruptions, and support tourism and trade, with the Public Works Department executing the project under close monitoring by the Regional Officer in Shimla.

674. India's seafood sector expands beyond US after tariffs, shrimp exports rise 18% in first five months of FY26: Report
- On November 24, 2025, it was reported that India’s seafood sector is reducing its dependence on the US market as shrimp exporters diversify to countries like Vietnam, Belgium, China and Russia, driving an 18% rise in export value to USD 2.43 billion in the first five months of FY26.
- Non-US markets accounted for 86% of the incremental growth, with exports to these destinations rising 30% year-on-year; China remained the largest buyer, while exports to Vietnam and Belgium doubled due to stronger demand and improved compliance.
- According to report diversification has helped cushion the impact of sharply higher US tariffs—rising to nearly 58% post-August 2025—while access to new markets and increased approvals for exports to the EU and Russia are expected to support the sector despite expected moderation in H2 FY26.

675. Made in India’ Safety: Railways rolls out locomotive with SIL-4 certified Kavach System to prevent human error
- On November 24, 2025, it was reported that Indian Railways dispatched its first locomotive equipped with the indigenously developed Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system from the Ajni Electric Loco Shed in Nagpur, marking a major step toward the ‘zero-accident’ goal.
- Kavach is an SIL-4 certified anti-collision technology that automatically prevents overspeeding, signal violations, and head-on collisions through real-time monitoring, auto-braking, RFID-based tracking, GPS synchronisation, and SOS emergency capability.
- After successful testing of braking, signalling, level-crossing warnings, and emergency alerts, Railways has planned to equip 10,000 locomotives with Kavach, including all 312 three-phase engines at the Ajni shed.
676. Indian Navy commissions anti-submarine warfare vessel INS Mahe to boost coastal defence
- On November 24, 2025, the Indian Navy commissioned INS Mahe in Mumbai, the first Mahe-class anti-submarine warfare shallow-water craft, marking a major boost to India’s coastal defence and near-sea dominance.
- Designed and built by Cochin Shipyard, INS Mahe is the lead ship of eight vessels, featuring over 80% indigenous content, advanced sensors, torpedoes, anti-submarine rockets, and high stealth-mobility to hunt submarines and secure maritime approaches.
- Measuring 78 metres in length and displacing about 1,100 tonnes, it is powered by a twin-shaft diesel propulsion system generating more than 6 MW, enabling a top speed of 25 knots, a range of 1,800 nautical miles, and an endurance of 14 days. Its shallow sub-3 metre draft allows effective operations close to the coastline.
677. Indian Railways Crosses 1 Billion Tonne Freight Loading Milestone In FY26, Coal, Iron Ore And Cement Lead Growth
- On November 22, 2025, the Ministry of Railways said in a statement that Indian Railways' freight performance continues to strengthen India's economic backbone, with cumulative loading this year crossing the 1-billion-tonne mark—reaching 1,020 million tonnes (MT) as of 19 November, 2025.
- According to the ministry, this milestone reflects broad-based support from key sectors: coal remains the largest contributor at 505 MT, followed by iron ore (115 MT), cement (92 MT), container traffic (59 MT), pig iron & finished steel (47 MT), fertilisers (42 MT), mineral oil (32 MT), foodgrains (30 MT), raw materials for steel plants (~20 MT), and balance-other-goods (74 MT).
- Freight loading between April to October touched 935.1 MT in 2025, compared to 906.9 MT during the same period 2024.
678. PM Modi at G20 Leaders’ Summit: Trilateral tech alliance with Canada and Australia
- On November 22, 2025. India, Australia and Canada agreed to a new “technology and innovation” partnership in which they will step up cooperation on “critical and emerging technologies”, including on mass adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).
- This partnership is significant given that Canada and Australia are part of the “Five Eyes” intelligence network and have access to cutting-edge tech and information with the US, UK and New Zealand.

680. MP receives investment proposal worth Rs 36,600 during Hyderabad's business meet
- On November 22, 2025, Chief Minister announced that Madhya Pradesh received investment proposals worth over ₹36,600 crore from industries in Hyderabad and other southern states, expected to create about 27,800 private-sector jobs.
