2731. Tripura's first liver transplant center to open soon at state medical college

2732. JSW Group, J&K Govt to develop ski resort Gulmarg as world-class destination
- On January 31, 2025, JSW Group chairman announced various initiatives to develop Gulmarg, North Kashmir’s premier ski resort, into a world-class holiday and skiing destination. The announcement came after a meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister at the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) event.
- Jindal stated that JSW Group, through the JSW Foundation, will take up multiple projects to enhance Gulmarg’s tourism infrastructure and ski slopes. Chief Minister highlighted that his discussions at the event focused on unlocking J&K’s untapped tourism potential by balancing ecological preservation, heritage celebration, and immersive experiences.
- The J&K government also held discussions with industry leaders on promoting golf tourism, reviving Kashmiri textiles, enhancing culinary tourism, and integrating wellness tourism with Kashmir’s landscapes. The government aims to position J&K as an all-season global tourism hub while strengthening its sports and hospitality sectors.

2733. Government unveils Rs 100 crore credit guarantee scheme to strengthen MSME manufacturing sector
- On January 29, 2025, Government approved a Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme aimed towards improving the credit availability for micro, small and medium manufacturing sectors, aligning with the goals set under the Make in India Union Budget 2024-25 for the MSME sector.
- The scheme will offer 60 per cent guarantee coverage through the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC) to Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) for loans up to Rs 100 crore, helping eligible MSMEs finance the purchase of equipment and machinery.
- This credit will enable MSME industries to purchase plant, machinery, and equipment, giving a boost to the sector and strengthening the Make in India initiative.
2734. IDBI Fund Commits Rs 480 Crore To Defence And Aerospace MSMEs In Maharashtra
- On 30 january 2025 the Maharashtra Defence and Aerospace Venture Fund (MDAVF), managed by IDBI Capital Markets & Securities (ICMS), has deployed Rs 480 crore across 27 MSMEs, according to a statement released by ICMS.
- The SEBI-registered fund, which focuses on strategic sectors including missile systems, aerospace technologies, naval systems, and electronic warfare, has invested Rs 406 crore in 22 MSMEs and successfully executed full and partial exits from 12 companies, generating divestment proceeds of approximately Rs 281 crore .
- The investment initiative has generated significant employment opportunities in Maharashtra, creating over 3,000 direct jobs and an estimated 10,000-15,000 indirect positions.
2735. Cabinet Clears ₹10,200 Crore Ammo Deal For Pinaka Rocket Launchers In Major Boost For Defense Self-Reliance
- On 30 january 2025 the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has approved the indigenous procurement of ammunition worth ₹10,200 crore for the Indian Army's Pinaka multi-launch rocket system.
- The high-explosive pre-fragmented rockets come with an extended range of 45 km, while the area denial munitions have a striking distance of 37 km and are designed to saturate battlefields with anti-tank and anti-personnel mines.
- The manufacturing order will be split between Munitions India Limited (MIL), Pune, and a private sector company, further strengthening public-private collaboration in Defence production
2736. Work to upgrade Dimapur railway station into world-class facility to start in March
- On January 30, 2025, officials confirmed that work to upgrade Dimapur railway station in Nagaland into a world-class facility will commence in the first week of March. The redevelopment project, part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
- The central government has allocated ₹283 crore for the project, and the contract for the upgradation has already been awarded. The work is expected to be completed within three years, significantly improving passenger amenities and infrastructure at the over 100-year-old railway station.
- Northeast Frontier Railway Chief Engineer Nilmani Brahma urged the public to refrain from constructing illegal structures on railway land, as such encroachments could hinder the progress of the redevelopment. Officials emphasized the importance of local support to ensure the smooth execution of the project.

2737. India Expected to be Global Manufacturing Hub of Green Hydrogen, Have Entered MOU for Export: Pralhad Joshi
- India is expected to be the global manufacturing hub of green hydrogen and has also recently entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for its export, the Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said on January 29, 2025.
- Joshi also said that the country is now looking at a renewable energy target of 1,800 gigawatt (GW) by 2047 instead of just 500 GW by 2030.
- The Government of India launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission in January 2023 with an outlay of Rs 17,940 crore. Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of NTPC Green Energy Ltd's (NGEL) green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka near Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, marking the first green hydrogen hub to be set up in the country.

- Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) unveiled the made-in-India 5-door version of the Jimny in Japan. The company said in an official statement that the Jimny 5-door was first showcased at Auto Expo 2023 in India and the 5-door Jimny is the second most exported model from Maruti Suzuki in FY 2024-25.
- Exclusively manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s facility in Gurugram, Haryana, the Jimny 5-door is exported to nearly 100 countries.
- Its introduction in Japan marks a significant milestone in Maruti Suzuki’s export journey, making it the second SUV after Fronx to be supplied to Suzuki Motor Corporation’s home market in FY 2024-25.

- Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH) has achieved a significant milestone in women's healthcare by becoming the first hospital in India to receive certification from the European Endometriosis League (EEL) through the EuroEndoCert program.
- Endometriosis affects 10-15 per cent of women globally, yet care in India remains fragmented, often limited to surgical interventions and symptomatic management without addressing the chronic nature of the disease.
- Endometriosis is also a significant contributor to infertility, often discovered when women struggle to conceive. The condition can damage eggs, fallopian tubes, and the uterine lining, complicating pregnancy.

- India’sv top Army hospital in The Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi has performed India's "first-ever" left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation using a cutting-edge device at a government institution, the defence ministry said on January 23, 2025.
- The LVAD, often regarded as a 'mechanical heart', serves as a life-saving bridge for patients with end-stage heart failure, officials said. The procedure was successfully performed at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) at Delhi Cantonment on a 49-year-old woman, wife of an armed forces' veteran who had been waiting for a heart transplant for over two years
