- भारतीय सेना की आतंकवाद निरोधक इकाई (counter-terrorism unit) को शिकारी कुत्ते बेल्जियन मेलिनोइस (Belgian Malinois) मिल गए हैं। कुत्ते की इस नस्ल को शहरी इलाकों में चलाए जा रहे ऑपरेशन के दौरान अपनी आक्रामकता, सहनशक्ति, काटने के काम, बुद्धिमत्ता और जासूसी के खास प्रदर्शन के लिए जाना जाता है।
- ये कुत्तों की सबसे अच्छी नस्लों में से एक हैं, जो सुरक्षा ऑपरेशन में सेना की मदद करते हैं। भारत में नक्सल विरोधी अभियानों में इनका इस्तेमाल करने वाला पहला सीआरपीएफ था। बाद में दूसरी सेंट्रल आर्म्ड पुलिस एजेंसियों आईटीबीपी और एनएसजी ने भी इन कुत्तों का प्रयोग करना शुरू किया।
- दुनियाभर की सेना के साथ-साथ अमेरिकी सेना भी दुश्मन के खात्मे के लिए इन्हीं कुत्ते का इस्तेमाल करती है। यही नहीं, वे अपने सबसे बड़े 2 ऑपरेशन में इसका इस्तेमाल कर चुकी है। अमेरिका ने 2011 ओसामा बिन लादेन ऑपरेशन और 2019 में ISIS नेता अबू बक्र अल-बगदादी का शिकार किया था। अपने छोटे शरीर के कारण, ये कुत्ते जर्मन शेफर्ड के विपरीत, पैराशूटिंग और विमानों से तेजी से बाहर निकल सकते हैं।

- Engineering graduate Vidhan Bhaiya from Chennai launched Dr Brinsley, a diabetic footwear company, that makes and sells fashionable shoes which reduce friction and shear stress, prevent external shocks, and accommodate deformities due to diabetes.
- Every twenty seconds, a foot is amputated due to diabetes across the world. About half of these cases can be prevented if patients wear appropriate footwear. The concept isn’t new at all, but adherence is low because of the way most diabetic shoes look
- footwear was created keeping four fundamental design goals in mind — even distribution of plantar pressure, reducing friction and shear stress, preventing external shocks, and accommodating deformities due to diabetes. The shoes, which feature components such as an anti-sweat leather lining and a soft memory foam footbed, are priced between Rs 999 and Rs 3,999.

- Jharkhand engineer Vishal Prasad Gupta has developed a bio-fuel manufactured from a species of microalgae native to the state’s ponds, which is not only more eco-friendly than petrol and diesel, but also low cost.
- The biofuel, which can be used in all vehicles with EM590 diesel engines, costs Rs 78 per litre, a cheaper alternative to diesel, which is currently priced at Rs 92 in Ranchi. Meanwhile, bioethanol costs Rs 72, which Vishal says can replace petrol currently priced at Rs 99 per litre.
- It took about two months for him to receive approval for his creation by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association, Government of India. Vishal says that owing to the goodwill he enjoys in his hometown and a strong network in the industry, he was easily able to market his product. He claims to sell as much as 2,000-2,500 kls (kilolitres) of biofuel daily, and has sold around 2,50,000 kls of biofuel till date. He has also made commercial sales to Tata Motors (250 kls) and Damla Bharat Cement (500 kls).

- आसिफ कम क्षेत्र में ज्यादा मछलियों का उत्पादन करते हैं, यही नहीं उनसे सीखने कई राज्यों के युवा आते हैं। बाराबंकी जिले के देवा-कुर्सी रोड पर बन्धिया गंगवारा गाँव में एक्यू फिशरीज फार्म है, जहां पर 6.5 एकड़ क्षेत्रफल में 60 से अधिक छोटे-बड़े तालाब हैं, जिनमें पंगेशियस नस्ल की मछलियों का पालन होता है।
- इसमें हमने कम लागत में तालाब तैयार किया जोकि सीमेंटेड तालाब बनाने से बहुत कम है, इसमें जगह भी कम लगती है, मानकर चलिए कि दस गुना कम जमीन लगती है। जबकि हमें 15-20 प्रतिशत कम पानी लगता है और इससे जो पानी निकलता है वो अपने और आसपास के किसानों के खेतों की सिंचाई में लग जाते हैं। इससे एक साथ दो काम होते हैं, इससे खेत भी उपजाऊ होता है

- भारत अब पूरी दुनिया का सबसे ऊंचा रेल पुल बनाने जा रहा है। इसकी कितनी ऊंचाई होगी इसका इसी से अंदाज लगा लें कि यह कुतुबमीनार से भी लगभग दोगुनी है। पुल पूर्वोत्तर भारत में बनेगा। इसके बनने से मालगाड़ी चलने से लोगों को आवश्यक खाज्य सामग्री, दवाइयां इत्यादि की तेजी से आपूर्ति की जा सकेगी।
- इसकी ऊंचाई 141 मीटर होगी। 110 किलोमीटर लंबी जिरीबाम-इंफाल रेल लाइन परियोजना के तहत नोने जिले में इसका निर्माण किया जा रहा है। इस क्षेत्र के इको सेंसिटिव जोन होने के कारण पुल को भूकंपरोधी बनाया जा रहा है। यह रिक्टर स्केल पर 8.5 तीव्रता के भूकंप के झटके आसानी से सह सकता है।
- जिरीबाम-इंफाल परियोजना पर छोटे-बड़े 151 रेल पुलों का निर्माण किया जा रहा है। इसमें विश्व के सबसे ऊंचे नोने रेल पुल के लिए सात पिलर का निर्माण किया जा रहा है। पांच पिलर बन चुके हैं और दो पर काम जारी है। दो पिलर की ऊंचाई 141 मीटर है। बाकी इससे छोटे हैं

- The World Bank-funded Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation project (APART), has begun production of new black rice varieties from different states of India.
- The crop is expected to be harvested within the next week from the project wherein the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) has embarked on this ambitious collaboration with the Government of Assam under the APART, IRRI said in a release.
- The seeds of these varieties were sown on a total area of 17.6 bighas of land, comprising Manipuri black rice in 10 bigha, Kalavati in 3.6 bigha and Kalamalifula in 4.0 bigha as demonstration plots.
- "IRRI has also introduced the crop cafeteria of the premium quality rice (PQR) varieties along with the indigenous rice varieties for comparative analysis, evaluation and selection. The purpose of the crop cafeteria is to provide an opportunity to the farmers and extension functionaries to select the best performing varieties of their preference for further adoption on their fields," said Dr Kanwar Singh, resident coordinator & Senior Associate Scientist II at the IRRI.
