23071. प्याज की कीमतों पर काबू पाने के लिए Maharashtra ने इस देश से मंगाया प्याज
- महाराष्ट्र (Maharashtra) में प्याज के दाम अगले कुछ दिनों में कम हो सकते हैं. तुर्किस्तान (Turkistan) से आयात किया गया प्याज (onion) महाराष्ट्र में पहुंचना शुरू हो गया है.
- जानकारी के मुताबिक महाराष्ट्र की पिपलगाव बाजार मंडी में तुर्किस्तान से करीब 1000 क्विंटल प्याज लाया गया है. इस प्याज को बाजार में 3000-5000 रूपये प्रति क्विंटल के भाव से बेचा गया. बाजार में कुछ दिनों पहले तक यही प्याज 5000 से 7000 रुपये प्रति क्विंटल के हिसाब से थोक मार्केट में बेचा गया था.
- विदेशों से आयात हुई यह प्याज महाराष्ट्र की थोक मंडी में पहुंचनी शुरू हो गई है. जिससे वहां प्याज के दाम नीचे आने शुरू हो गए हैं. माना जा रहा है कि अगले कुछ दिनों में प्याज के दाम घटकर 30-40 रुपये प्रति किलो तक आ सकते हैं. हालांकि थोक के एक व्यापारी ने कहा कि भारतीय प्याज में जो टेस्ट होता है. वह इन विदेशी प्याजों में नहीं होता. ऐसे में लोगों को एक महीने और इंतजार करना होगा. तब तक नई भारतीय प्याज बाजार में आनी शुरू हो जाएगी.

23072. Government extends relaxed norms for onion imports till January 31 to counter high market
- Central government, extended relaxation norms for onion imports till January 31 next year to counter high market.
- "In the light of public concern over high prices of onion in the market, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has decided to extend the relaxation from the condition of fumigation and additional declaration on Phytosanitary Certificate as per the Plant Quarantine Order, 2003, for imports up to 31st January, 2021. The relaxation will be subject to certain conditions," a Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare release said
- On the rising onion prices, in October, the Food Minister Piyush Goyal had said that the government has banned the export of onions since September 14. He announced that the government had in turn, begun importing onions. The Centre is now taking steps to monitor potato prices.

23073. Govt to lift export ban on all varieties of onions starting January 1
- Government had made amendments in the export policy for onions in order to allow the export of up to 10,000 tonnes of two types of onions up to March 31, 2021.
- Union government on Monday has given consent to export of all types of onions from January 1, 2021.
- DGFT vide Notification No. 39 dated 09.10.2020 has allowed export of Bangalore Rose Onions and Krishnapuram onions for quantity up to 10,000 MT each." As per the notification, exports of the two varieties of onions is allowed now but only for a limited quantity. Also, the export of these varieties of onions is allowed only from Chennai port.

23074. Coronavirus pushes up demand for N95 face masks from India
- With common disposable surgical masks considered ineffective against large, infectious particles, experts are asking people at risk — health workers and care givers — to use the N95. “China is the largest manufacturer of masks and India would be 4% - 5% of it. This is first time we are getting orders from there,” said Nikunj Kedia, director, Bellcross Industries.
- “A mask costing Rs 25-Rs 30 a unit is being exported at Rs 60-Rs 70 a unit,” he said. “N95 offers better protection by filtering out small particles,” said Manoj Vakharia, treasurer of Scientific and Surgical Dealers and Manufacturers Association (SIDMA). “Now, instead of importing from China, many dealers here are exporting them to that country.” With China limiting exports, many Asian countries are now approaching Indian dealers.
- “We are sending boxes of masks we bought from China.” said Anil Gupta of Mumbai-based Avishankar International Private Limited. “Dealers here used to buy N95 masks at Rs 25 a piece. Now, it is at least Rs 38. Manufacturers are also demanding that we pay 100% money in advance,” said Chennai-based J Jayaseelan, chairman of Indian Drug Manufacturers Association.
23075. India India has authorised export of defence products to 42 countries: Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik
- The Defence Minister and the Lucknow MP Mr Rajnath Singh was the host of the DefExpo 2020. Over 135 countries participated in the mega show.
- More than 10 lakh people attended the show which is a record in itself, which outnumbered the ones in 2016 in Goa and 2018 in Chennai.
- The 232 MoUs with the state government, company to company and the private sector with the defence ministry are highly impressive in fetching an investment of over thousands of crores and guaranteeing jobs to lakhs. The way defence ministry has liberalised its policies and made major reforms, exports of defence production would also reach over Rs 35,000 crore in the next five years.

23076. DRDO को मिली एक और सफलता, मैन पोर्टेबल एंटी टैंक गाइडेड मिसाइल का किया सफल परीक्षण
- रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने आज एक मैन पोर्टेबल एंटी टैंक गाइडेड मिसाइल (man-portable anti-tank guided missile) का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया है.
- स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित एंटी टैंक मिसाइल को थर्मल साइट के साथ एकीकृत कर मानव-पोर्टेबल लॉन्चर से लॉन्च किया गया. रक्षा मंत्रालय (Defense Ministry) के प्रधान प्रवक्ता ने इस बारे में जानकारी दी है. बताया जा रहा है कि यह मिसाइल भारतीय सेना की पैदल सेना और पैराशूट स्पेशल फोर्स के लिए है.
- यह पोर्टेबल मिसाइल है जिसे एक से दूसरी जगह आदमियों द्वारा लेकर जाया जाता है. इसे अधिकतम 2.5 किलोमीटर की रेंज तक एक तिपाई का इस्तेमाल कर लॉन्च किया जा सकता है. डीआरडीओ ने इसका वीडियो भी जारी किया है जिसमें स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित एंटी टैंक मिसाइल को लॉन्च होते हुए देखा जा सकता है.
23077. 3 Rafale fighters with Indian enhancements to arrive on Feb 1-2
- The stage is set for Indian Air Force (IAF) to receive last four Rafale fighters from France from February with all of them fully equipped with India specific enhancements, which will give extra teeth to fight any regional adversary.
- three Rafale fighters are expected to leave Istres-Le Tube air base, north-west of Marseille in south France, around February 1-2 depending on the weather conditions and arrive in India after due mid-air refueling by close ally, the United Arab Emirates Air Force, using Airbus multi-role transport tankers.
- On the arrival of the fighter jets, the IAF will test the specific enhancements to their satisfaction under Indian conditions apart from verifying the original equipment manufacturers claims as per agreement.
- The upgradation exercise will be carried out at Ambala air base which has the maintenance cum repair set up for Rafale fighters in India.

23079. 100 tonnes of Nuzvid mango to be exported
- The government is set to export at least 100 tonnes of mangoes cultivated in the Nuzvid region to countries like Dubai, Singapore, South Korea, Maldives and Europe
- In 2019, around 10 tonnes of mango (Banginapalli variety from Nuzvid) was exported to Europe, South East Asia, and few other countries via air cargo from Hyderabad and Chennai,”
- Mango growers in Nuzvid region were guided by the horticulture department on export standards, methods of cultivation, the right size, ripening methods, and fertilizers accepted by importing countries.

23080. 63,000 tonne grapes exported from Nashik district so far
- Grape exports from the Nashik district seem to have gathered momentum, with officials announcing that nearly 63,000 tonne of the fruit has been sent out in 4,705 containers so far.
- Out of the 63,000 tonne exported so far, 55,000 tonne were sent out to European countries — 36,000 tonne to the Netherland; 6,700 tonne to the United Kingdom; 6,500 tonne to Germany; 1,200 tonne to Denmark. The rest of the grape export was to countries such as Finland, Slovenia, Spain, Ireland, Norway, etc.
- Nearly 8,000 tonne of grapes has been exported to non-European countries such as Russia, the UAE etc. The grape export season will continue through the end of April. The district also recorded a 26% drop in the registration of vineyards meant for export during the grape season 2019-20.
