23041. This Superfast Train to Connect Haryana With Delhi. All You Need to Know
- The Indian Railways has decided to operate a super-fast train between Delhi and Hisar. Preparations are underway for the new train, and the Ministry of Railways will get the required elevated railway line laid on the route.
- At present, the distance of 180 km between Delhi-Hisar is covered in four hours by normal train. After the new rail line is elevated, the distance can be covered in just two and a half hours.
- The process of acquiring land in the area of Prithla and Palwal will begin soon. A link will be made to connect to the economic corridor.
23042. Himachal CM inaugurates first heliport in Shimla under Swadesh Darshan scheme
- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has inaugurated a heliport on the outskirts of the city of Shimla.
- The inauguration ceremony took place on January 12 at Sanjauli, a suburb of Shimla. This is the first among the six heliports to be built under Swadesh Darshan and UDAN-2 schemes. Thakur said the heliport near the Sanjauli-Dhalli bypass was constructed for Rs 18 crore.
- UDAN 2.0 primarily focuses on transporting perishable food products from the hilly areas, northeastern states, and tribal areas. The scheme aims to ensure seamless, cost-effective, time-bound air transportation and associated logistics for all Agri-produce originating especially from the Northeast, hilly and tribal regions of the country.
23043. Under Mission Sagar, INS Kesari Delivers 500 Tonnes Of Food Aid To Mozambique
- It is the eighth such deployment under Mission Sagar and is being conducted in close coordination with the ministry of external affairs, and other central government agencies.
- Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kesari reached Port of Maputo, Mozambique to deliver 500 tonnes of food aid under Mission Security And Growth for All in the Region (Sagar).
- INS Kesari undertook similar missions between May and June 2020 to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar and Comoros. The aid also included the deployment of medical assistance teams of the Indian Navy in multiple locations during the initial days of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).

- लंदन। भारत और इंग्लैंड के बीच व्यापारिक रिश्तों की मजबूती पर एक कदम आगे बढ़ते हुए इंग्लैंड ने भारत के साथ मुक्त व्यापार समझौते पर बातचीत का ऐलान किया है। इंग्लैंड के प्रधानमंत्री बोरिस जॉनसन ने इसे ब्रिटिश व्यापारियों के लिए भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था की कतार में सबसे आगे रखने का सुनहरा अवसर करार दिया है।
- इंग्लैंड के प्रधानमंत्री ने उम्मीद जाहिर की कि भारत की उभरती अर्थव्यवस्था के साथ मुक्त व्यापार निश्चित रूप से इंग्लैंड के कारोबारियों व उपभोक्ताओं के लिए लाभदायक साबित होगा। इंग्लैंड के पास विश्वस्तरीय दक्षता है और भारत भी नवोन्मेष में पीछे नहीं है। दोनों देश इस समझौते का लाभ उठा सकते हैं
- इंग्लैंड की विदेश मंत्री मेरी ट्रेवेलियान और भारत के उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल के बीच प्रस्तावित वार्ता से ठीक पहले आया है। ट्रेवेलियान 15वीं भारत-इंग्लैंड संयुक्त आर्थिक एवं व्यापार समिति की बैठक के लिए दिल्ली में हैं। ट्रवेलियान ने कहा कि 2050 तक भारत दुनिया की तीसरी बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था के रूप में सामने आ चुका होगा। ऐसे में मुक्त व्यापार समझौता ब्रिटिश कारोबार को सबसे आगे रखने का सुनहरा अवसर है।

23045. Foxconn India'Modi’s PLI scheme to help Indian economy beat China; India to grow faster than emerging markets: World Banks Apple plant reopens in Tamil Nadu
- Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme will likely help India’s economy grow at 8.7% in the next financial year 2022-23, beating emerging market peers including China, said the World Bank.
- In comparison, China, Indonesia and Bangladesh are expected to grow at 5.1%, 5.2% and 6.4% respectively in the emerging market and developing economies.
- The World Bank said in its Global Economic Prospects report it has upgraded its expectations for India’s growth to 8.7% in FY 2022-23 and 6.8% in FY 2023-24 “to reflect an improving investment outlook with private investment, particularly manufacturing, benefiting from the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, and increases in infrastructure investment.”

23046. Foxconn India's Apple plant reopens in Tamil Nadu
- Foxconn Technology Group, better known as Foxconn, has reopened its Indian iPhone manufacturing plant after weeks of protests. The company is one of the major suppliers for the iPhone for Apple, but also serves other major tech companies around the world.
- The Foxconn plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, employed about 17,000 people before being shut down on December 18 after protests erupted as over 250 workers became ill with food poisoning.
- Foxconn has been producing the iPhone 12 and testing manufacturing of the iPhone 13 at its Tamil Nadu facility. A source aware of the situation added that the plant will reopen on January 12 with less than 100 employees, and that it could take more than 60 days for it to be fully functional, reported Reuters.
23047. India reaps high growth from agriculture, allied products in FY22
- India’s agriculture and allied exports grew at a brisk 21 percent in the first eight months of the current financial year despite broken supply chains and various challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic
- Exports were boosted by increased access to markets in the United States, European Union and the United Arab Emirates, and targeted efforts by the government to expand the global reach of processed food from India.
- Commerce ministry data shows that exports of farm produce, both processed and unprocessed, climbed to $29.51 billion between April and November 2021. The government expects total exports from the sector to rise to $43 billion by March 2022.

23048. Kenya Police inducts 100 made-in-India Mahindra Scorpio Getaway pick-up trucks
- About 100 units of Mahindra Scorpio Pick-up trucks were handed over to the Kenya Police at Simba Corp's headquarters during a handoff ceremony.
- These trucks are only available for commercial and special application use, and they have a single cab design. Mahindra Scorpio single-cab commercial pickups are only available on international markets.
- The interior layout is essentially the same as that of the current-generation Scorpio. Powered by the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk turbodiesel engine as the current Mahindra Scorpio, this pick-up truck makes 118 BHP of power and 280 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It is not clear whether the Kenya-spec model gets the same AWD as the Australian model.

23050. Gaganyaan mission: ISRO conducts qualification test of Cryogenic Engine
- The engine will undergo four more tests for a cumulative duration of 1,810 seconds India's maiden human space mission Gaganyaan will be launched in 2023
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Wednesday successfully conducted the qualification test of Cryogenic Engine for Gaganyaan programme for a duration of 720 seconds at ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Tamil Nadu's Mahendragiri, the agency said in a statement.
- This engine will undergo four more tests for a cumulative duration of 1,810 seconds. The major missions viz., Test vehicle flight for the validation of Crew Escape System performance and the 1st Uncrewed mission of Gaganyaan (G1) are scheduled during the beginning of second half of 2022. This will be followed by the second uncrewed mission at the end of 2022 carrying "Vyommitra" a spacefaring human-robot developed by ISRO and finally the first crewed Gaganyaanmission in 2023c
