2221. Centre making huge investments in solar power projects in Ladakh
- On April 2, 2025, Union Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy and Power, informed the Parliament that the Government of India is making massive investments in solar energy projects in Ladakh.

2222. J&K’s IT sector generated Rs 42.12 cr in export revenue in 2023-24
- On April 2, 2025, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, informed the Parliament that Jammu and Kashmir recorded Rs 42.12 crore in export revenue for the fiscal year 2023-24 from the IT and automobile sectors.

2223. ACME Solar secures ₹2,491 crore refinancing for renewable projects
- On 3 April 2025,ACME Solar Holdings, a leading renewable energy company in India, has secured a ₹2,491 crore long-term project finance facility to refinance its 490 MW operational renewable energy projects across three states, the company announced.
- The refinancing, secured from State Bank of India (SBI) and Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), covers projects in Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab with a weighted average interest rate of 8.8 per cent. The facility extends for 18-20 years, matching the projects’ operational lifespans.
- ACME Solar Holdings, the flagship business of the diversified ACME Group, currently operates 2,540 MW of renewable energy capacity. The company has set an ambitious target of expanding to 6,970 MW capacity within the next three years.
2224. Indian defence firm inks MoU with Israeli company to bring advanced drone camera tech to country
- On 3 April 2025, An Indian defence firm has signed an MoU with an Israeli company to bring advanced drone camera technology to the country.
- The Indian firm will bring indigenous content into these drone cameras and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) payloads, improving the country’s self-reliance while lowering costs, the statement said.
- Offered two models, whose usual import price is “around Rs 20 lakh and Rs 40 lakh per unit.” Paras Defence “anticipates a 50-60 percent price reduction for each model,” making advanced surveillance technology more accessible to Indian defence forces and commercial applications.
2225. Nearly 3000 startups will be participating at Startup Mahakumbh 2025
- On 3 APRIL 2025 the highly anticipated second edition of 'Startup Mahakumbh' set to take place at Bharat Mandapam Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) that nearly 3000 startups will be participating this time in the event.
- "This year's Startup Mahakumbh is bigger and better than last year. Pavillions have been set up in area double than last year's. Nearly 3000 startups will be participating this time, as compared to 1500 last year. Masterclasses will be organised this year. Delegates from 64 countries are coming to take part in it.
- Tribal entrepreneurs are also set to take the stage with participation from 45+ startups, including those incubated at IIM Calcutta, IIM Kashipur, and IIT Bhilai.
2226. Odisha turns to organic farming amid rising cancer cases in Hirakud dam region
- On 3 April 2025 Odisha govt has announced plans to promote organic farming in response to increasing cancer cases in Hirakud dam command area, which the govt attributes to chemical-intensive agriculture practices.
- . Health experts link this trend to excessive use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers in the region's bi-annual crop cultivation.
- "The situation in areas under undivided Sambalpur and Balangir is a matter of serious concern," said law minister Prithiviraj Harichandan. "Chemical fertilizers and pesticides are causing genetic mutations, leading to a wider spread of cancer,
- The state govrtment has launched the "Odisha Balabhadra Jaivik Chasa Mission", with an initial allocation of Rs 1.5 crore.
2227. BHEL partners with Adani Energy Solutions for 6,000 MW HVDC Bhadla-Fatehpur transmission project
- On 3 april 2025, it was reported that, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered into a partnership with Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL),
- The joint venture will see the development of a 6,000 MW, ±800 kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system that will transport renewable energy from Bhadla in Rajasthan to Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, with completion expected by 2029.
- The project is a crucial step towards meeting India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and demonstrates BHEL's continued commitment to India's energy infrastructure and the Make in India initiative, said BHEL.
2228. Indian Railways installs 2,249 solar power plants, expands renewable energy initiative
- On 2 April 2025 Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone in its commitment to renewable energy by installing 2,249 solar power plants at railway stations and service buildings across the country .
- Indian Railways has installed 1,489 solar units, which is 2.3 times more than the 628 units installed in the preceding five years. Rajasthan has emerged as the leading state in this initiative, with 275 installations, the highest among all states and Union Territories.
- Indian Railways is progressively procuring renewable energy through various power procurement models. One of these models includes Round The Clock power, a hybrid solution that integrates solar and wind energy. Most solar plants are set up under the Power Purchase Agreement in developer mode.
2229. ISRO initiates process for space surveillance centre in Assam
- ON 3 April 2025 Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman Dr V. Narayanan and his team today visited the site for the setting up of a state-of-the-art space surveillance project called Network of Space Object Tracking and Analysis (NETRA) centre at Chandrapur on the outskirts of Guwahati.
- The first of its kind in the country. The state government is ready to provide all logistical support for this centre.
- The inspection of the site, ISRO chairman said that a highly powerful and advanced radar system would be established at the NETRA project site within in 2025 .

2230. Atmanirbhar Bharat in Defence sector Export in Financial year 2014 to 2015
