2141. India Successfully Conducts Trials Of Long-Range Glide Bomb 'Gaurav'
- On 11 April 2025 The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the release trials of the long-range glide bomb "Gaurav" from the Sukhoi aircraft. "Gaurav" is a 1,000-kg class glide bomb designed and developed indigenously by the DRDO .
- The trials, conducted from , successfully demonstrated a range close to 100 km with pinpoint accuracy, The trials are paving the way for the induction of the weapon into the Indian Air Force
- The DRDO, the IAF and the industry partners concerned for the successful development trials of "Gaurav". the development of the long-range glide bomb will further enhance the capabilities of the armed forces to a great extent.
2142. Industrial growth surges in J&K: ₹10,219 crore invested, 1,729 units established, over 62,000 jobs created under new industrial policy
- On April 11, 2025, Jammu and Kashmir reported a surge in industrial growth under the New J&K Industrial Policy 2021-30, with ₹10,219 crore invested, establishing 1,729 units and creating 62,457 jobs across various sectors.
- Year-wise progress shows steady growth: 310 units in 2020-21 (₹412.74 crore, 3,697 jobs), 175 in 2021-22 (₹376.76 crore, 2,357 jobs), 629 in 2022-23 (₹2,153.45 crore, 15,719 jobs), 234 in 2023-24 (₹3,389.37 crore, 29,969 jobs), and 381 by February 2025 (₹3,887.54 crore, 10,715 jobs).
- The J&K Industrial Land Allotment Policy 2021-30 attracted 8,559 proposals worth ₹1,69,512.29 crore, with ₹1,18,941.07 crore from Jammu and ₹50,571.22 crore from Kashmir, projecting 6.07 lakh jobs, while the Central Government’s NCSS 2021 sanctioned ₹411.51 crore in incentives.
- The J&K Start-up Policy 2024-47 boosted entrepreneurship with 1,003 registered start-ups, including 369 women-led, alongside artisan support schemes like Karkhan (148 units, ₹2.35 crore) and export incentives facilitating ₹4,701.74 crore in GI-certified product exports since 2019-20.

2143. India’s electronics manufacturing value addition jumps to 70%, set to reach 90% by FY27
- On 11 April,2025 It was reported that, India is strengthening its position as a global manufacturing hub, with value addition in electronics manufacturing having increased from 30 per cent to around 70 per cent, and is projected to reach 90 per cent by FY27, according to Axis Capital report.
- With a new components policy in place, the country is aiming to increase value addition from the current 15-16 per cent to 40-50 per cent. Mobile phone exports have grown 77 times in the last 10 years.
- India has cut down its imports of fully built air conditioners (CBUs) from 35 per cent in FY19 to just 5 per cent in FY25. Key parts like compressors, copper tubes, and aluminum coils are now being made in India.

2144. IRCTC Launches Bharat Gaurav Train from AP & Telangana to North India’s Spiritual Sites
- On 11 April 2025 IRCTC (Indian Railway, Catering and Tourism Corporation) has announced a Bharat Gaurav Tourism Train connecting Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to religious destinations in Northern India.
- The nine-night 10-day tour package will cover Haridwar’s Mansa Devi Temple and Ganga Aarti, Rishikesh’s Ram Jhula, the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir, and Anandpur’s Gurudwara in Punjab and Naina Devi Temple in Himachal Pradesh.
- The Indian Railways had launched the concept of operating tourist trains on theme-based circuits under the banner of ‘Bharat Gaurav’ Tourist Trains. The initiative aims to operate circuit trains to showcase India's rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical places
2145. Mega rail push: Bullet train, Gondia–Balharshah line doubling part of ₹1.73 lakh cr Maha projects
- On 11 April 2025, Railway Minister announced the doubling of the Gondia-Balharshah railway line in Maharashtra, which is 240 kilometres long and will cost Rs 4,819 crore.
- The transformative project is set to play a pivotal role in enhancing passenger and freight connectivity between northern and southern India.
- "Under Prime Minister's leadership, Maharashtra has received unprecedented support for railway infrastructure... Maharashtra has been given railway projects worth Rs. 1.73 lakh crore, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train and the dedicated freight corridor. In the current fiscal year alone, the state has been allotted more than Rs. 23,000 crore," the Railway Minister said.
2146. Seventh Steel Bridge Completed for Bullet Train Project in Gujarat
- On 11 April 2025 The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has successfully launched a 70-metre-long steel bridge over the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) tracks on the outskirts of Vadodara.
- The seventh steel bridge completed on the Gujarat stretch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor. The bridge, constructed across two freight corridor tracks, was installed within 12 hours using intermittent traffic blocks, showcasing the project's focus on efficiency and minimal disruption.
- The latest bridge milestone reflects the steady progress of India’s first bullet train corridor, enhancing connectivity and reinforcing infrastructure development in the region.
2147. भारत और इटली के बीच विज्ञान, तकनीक और शोध में बड़ा समझौता
- 11 अप्रैल 2025 को भारत के केंद्रीय मंत्री और को इटली की यूनिवर्सिटी और रिसर्च मंत्री अन्ना मारिया बर्निनी दोनों मंत्रियों ने विज्ञान और तकनीक के क्षेत्र में मिलकर काम करने के लिए एक अहम समझौते (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

2148. India’s Renewable Energy Capacity Achieves Historic Growth In FY 2024-25, Marking A Major Milestone In Clean Energy
- On 11 April 2025 Ministry of New and Renewable Energy progress in India’s clean energy sector for the financial year 2024–25. According to the Ministry, the country added a record 29.52 GW of renewable energy capacity during the year, bringing the total installed renewable energy capacity to 220.10 GW as of 31st March 2025.
- The achievement reflects India’s steady progress toward its goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030, a commitment made under the ‘Panchamrit’ targets.
- Solar energy was the largest contributor to the capacity addition in 2024–25. A total of 23.83 GW of new solar capacity was installed during the year, compared to 15.03 GW added in 2023–24. With this addition, the total installed solar energy capacity in the country has risen to 105.65 GW.
2149. Lucknow–Kanpur Motorway to Use AIMGC for First Time in India
- On 11 April 2025 The Lucknow–Kanpur Motorway is set to become India’s most technologically advanced motorway with the adoption of Automated Intelligence Machine Guided Construction (AIMGC) — a precision-driven construction method previously used only in the United States and Germany.
- first time AIMGC is being deployed in India’s road infrastructure sector. The system ensures strict adherence to prescribed material quality and quantity, with real-time alerts issued in case of any deviation during construction.
- The total 63 km length, a 45 km greenfield section between Bani and Kanpur is being built using AIMGC, GPS, and 3D modelling technologies. The goal is to deliver a high-durability, perfectly levelled motorway that offers a superior driving experience.
