2132. Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai lays foundation stone of first semiconductor plant
- On 11 April 2025 Chhattisgarh chief minister laid the foundation stone for the country’s first ultra-edge technology-based Gallium Nitride (GaN)-based semiconductor fabrication unit in Nava Raipur.
- Developed by Polymatech Electronics Limited with an investment of Rs 1,143 crore, the state-of-the-art facility will produce high-frequency GaN chips designed to operate between 5.925 GHz and 13.75 GHz (Nodes N102–104), catering to advanced 5G and 6G telecommunications infrastructure and marking a major milestone in India’s technological journey.
- The project is expected to create significant employment opportunities for local talent, while attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and boosting regional economic development. The plant aims to manufacture 10 billion chips annually by 2030, with potential to generate thousands of direct jobs and lakhs of indirect employment opportunities.
2133. Headlines of the DaySmartphone exports cross record Rs. 2 lakh crore, now India’s largest export commodity
- On 11 April 2025 India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), announced that mobile phone exports from India have crossed an all-time high of Rs. 2,00,000 crore in FY 2024-25. This marks a 55% growth over the Rs. 1,29,000 crore recorded in FY 2023-24.

2134. Nagaland CM Inaugurates New State-Of-The-Art Hospital Complex In Kohima
- On 6 July 2024, Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the new state-of-the-art Putuonuo Hospital Complex at Daklane in Kohima.

2135. For first time, Indian Railways Eastern zone installs solar panels embedded roof over platform shelters; details
- On December 2, 2021 It was reported that, The Eastern Railway said for the first time, the zonal railway has installed solar panels embedded roof over platform shelters instead of roof panels at Dankuni railway station in West Bengal.
- The Eastern Railway zone has also identified two land spots in Malda Division for land based solar panel installation. These include 72 acres of land in the Jangipara-Sujnipara section and 20 acres of land near the Champagram railway station equivalent to the generation of 18 mega watt power.
- The Eastern Railway zone is taking steps to generate green energy more and more by installing solar plants all over its jurisdiction. In a step forward to achieve the target of zero carbon emission.
2136. First AC local train starts in Mumbai; commuters elated
- On December 25,2017 In a Christmas gift to Mumbaikars, the country's first air-conditioned (AC) suburban train commenced its services, thus realising the long-awaited dream of lakhs of commuters.
- The train, operated by the Western Railway (WR), began its journey at 10.32 am from the Borivili station to Churchgate in South Mumbai.

2137. Special Parcel Train To Bangladesh With Red Chillies
- On Jul 13, 2020, It was reported that, Indian Railways has initiated a special parcel service to Bangladesh, the first international cargo express, covering 1,372 kilometers for transporting chilli.
- The special 16-parcel vans train from Guntur chugged off on Friday carrying 384 tonnes of chilli worth Rs 18 lakh to Benapole in the neighbouring country.
- A total of 4,434 parcel trains have run from March 2020 until 11 July out of which 4,304 have been time-tabled trains.
2138. India launches its first-ever time-tabled goods train between HYD & DEL
- On 23 July,2025 It was reported that, In an initiative aimed at increasing the market share of Indian Railways in the movement of general cargo across the nation, the South Central Railway (SCR) will be launching its first Cargo Express train on August 5
- South Central Railway, said, “The concept will be beneficial to agriculture producers, traders, cargo movers, small and medium/ mini plant owners who will be able to move their cargo in record transit time at very low tariffs.
- South Central Railway (SCR) of Indian Railways has launched India’s first-ever Cargo Express, a time-tabled weekly goods train between Hyderabad and New Delhi.
2139. WAG-12, the highest-powered locomotive arrives at CSMT for the first time
- On 18 August 2020, WAG-12B, the highest powered locomotive that is running on Indian Railways (hauling goods trains) for the first time arrived at CSMT.

- The 5500-tonne load capacity of WAG9/WAG7, the WAG-12 can haul 10000-tonne capacity and increase the average speed of goods traffic over predominantly graded sections over its undulated terrains. Currently 24 engines running in the Indian railways' good train operation.
2140. Indian Railways’ Trishul & Garuda long haul freight trains: Effective solution for capacity constraints
- On October 11, 2021, It was reported that, In first time Southern Indian Railways has run two long haul freight trains “Trishul” and “Garuda” over the South Central Railway network successfully. the long haul train- Trishul is South Central Railways’ first long haul train comprising of three freight trains, total of 177 wagons.
- The South Central Railway followed it up with the running of yet another similar one named Garuda on 8 October 2021 from Raichur of Guntakal Division to Manuguru of Secunderabad Division.
- According to the Railway Ministry, the long haul train- Trishul is South Central Railways’ first long haul train comprising of three freight trains, i.e., a total of 177 wagons. On 7 October 2021, this long haul freight train was started from the Kondapalli railway station of the Vijayawada Division to the East Coast Railway zone’s Khurda Division.
