- Today’s mission was supposed to carry a satellite from Pixxel India.
- Pixxel India, a Bengaluru-based start-up that completed two years of existence on Saturday, is planning to place a vast constellation of earth-imaging satellites for continuous monitoring of every part of the globe, and beam high-resolution imagery and other data that can be utilized for a variety of applications in climate change, agriculture and urban planning.
- The first of its satellites, called Anand, was supposed to be on this PSLV-C51 rocket that took off from the Sriharikota launching range this morning.

- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Friday said it has successfully tested a flight demonstration based on Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) technology from the Integrated Test Range in Odisha's Chandipur.
- The SFDR technology will help DRDO with the technological advantage to develop long-range air-to-air missiles (AAMs).
- It said that the test was carried out using a booster motor to simulate an air-launch scenario. The nozzle-less booster propelled the missile to the required Mach number for Ramjet operation.

- The Ola is building its first e-scooter manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district at a frenetic pace, with the aim to bring the vehicle to Indian roads by June of 2021. The long-term plan for the company is to also manufacture electric cars, Ola Group CEO and chairman Bhavish Aggarwal said.
- The company says Phase 1 of the factory on the 500-acre site will be ready by June and that it will have a capacity to manufacture 2 million vehicles annually.
- The factory will be built in four phases, and the company says this will be completed by June 2022, by when the company will have a capacity to make 10 million units annually.

- Officials from Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Headquarter, Department of Space, Government of India visited NIT Rourkela on 08th March, 2021.
- Mr. Jiwan Kumar Pandit (Associate Director, CBPO, ISRO-HQ) and Mr. Nishank Kumar (Programme Manager, CBPO, ISRO-HQ) visited the institute for a pre-evaluation on setting up of a Space Technology Incubation Centre (“S-TIC”) in NIT Rourkela.
- This branch of ISRO-STIC is desired to set up for the eastern region (comprising of the states of Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and union territory of Andaman & Nicobar island) of our country.

- ISRO India plans to launch on March 28 an earth observation satellite that will provide it near real-time images of its borders and also enable quick monitoring of natural disasters.
- The rocket will place the spacecraft in a geosynchronous orbit. It will be subsequently positioned in geostationary orbit, about 36,000 km above the earth’s equator, using its onboard propulsion system.
- The satellite would provide near real-time imaging of the large area region of interest at frequent intervals.

- ISRO has completed development of a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) capable of producing extremely high-resolution images for a joint earth observation satellite mission with NASA.
- NASA-ISRO SAR (NISAR) is a joint collaboration for a dual-frequency L and S-band SAR for earth observation.
- NISAR by both the space agencies will be the first satellite mission to use two different radar frequencies (S-band and L-band) for measuring the changes in Earth’s surface less than a centimeter across.

- NSIL launched its first dedicated commercial mission on February 28, orbiting Brazilian satellite Amazonia-1 from Sriharikota spaceport of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
- "We currently have four more dedicated launch service contracts, which will be executed in the coming two to three years," NSIL's Chairman and Managing Director G Narayanan told in an interview.
- Apart from launch services, NSIL is also actively pursuing the new policy change to provide space-based services on 'demand driven basis', a shift from the current supply driven model, he said.

- The DRDO carried out 28 successful tests in the last one year, minister of state for defence Shripad Naik informed Parliament on Wednesday.
- Shripad Naik said the major weapons and other systems that have been handed over to the armed forces by the DRDO are Astra beyond visual range missile system, 10 metre short span bridging system (SSBS),
