1601. Rs 512 Cr Health Projects Underway Across Jammu Kashmir, 150 Works Already Initiated
- On July 11, 2025, it was reported that Jammu and Kashmir’s health infrastructure received a Rs 512 crore boost under the National Health Mission (NHM), with HSCC (India) Ltd overseeing over 200 awarded projects, 150 of which have been initiated across various districts.
- Health indicators show progress, with institutional deliveries at 99% and Infant Mortality Rate dropping to 14 per 1,000 live births, surpassing the national average, alongside 9.35 lakh e-Sanjeevani consultations and 1 lakh Tele-MANAS calls.
- Secretary Health Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah reported Rs 806.93 crore in central funding and Rs 195.08 crore for infrastructure maintenance, while NHM Director Dr Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary highlighted 90% ASHA certification and 242 lakh OPD consultations since 2023.
- Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, during a review meeting, emphasized timely execution of projects like Critical Care Blocks (10), Integrated Public Health Labs (20), and Block Public Health Units (287) under PM-ABHIM, while also pushing for real-time drug availability reports and enhanced telemedicine services.
1602. Meghalaya: Finance Minister inaugurates Rs 100 crore Polo Complex as Shillong begins urban shift
- On July 11, 2025, it was reported that the Union Finance Minister inaugurated the Rs 100.33 crore Polo Shopping Complex in Shillong, a flagship project under the Shillong Smart City Mission, marking a significant step in Meghalaya’s urban development.
- The 9,686-square-meter complex, phase one of a two-phase project, features 109 retail outlets, a food court, parking for 86 cars and 50 two-wheelers with EV charging stations, a children’s gaming zone, 12 escalators, and five lifts, with phase two under construction.
- Meghalaya Chief Minister emphasised the project’s role in Shillong’s transformation, highlighting sustainability features like a 75-kilolitre sewage treatment plant, rainwater harvesting, solar energy, 110 CCTV cameras, and a Building Management System.

1603. Meghalaya receives massive infrastructure boost with Rs 1,087 crore investment
- On July .11, 2025, it was reported that Union Finance Minister launched infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,087.81 crore in Meghalaya, focusing on tourism, sports, women’s empowerment, and digital inclusion, during an event at the LARITI - International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture in Shillong.
- Key projects include the Rs 732 crore Mawkhanu Football Stadium with a residential academy in partnership with NorthEast United FC, and the Rs 120.81 crore redevelopment of Umiam Lake into an eco-tourism hub, expected to attract 1.27 lakh tourists annually and create 4,000 jobs.
- The Finance Minister praised Meghalaya’s full utilisation of Rs 5,400 crore under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, noting the state’s effective use of funds compared to others, alongside a 572% increase in tax devolution from 2004–2014 to 2014–2024.

1604. जयपुर के सर्वांगीण विकास के लिए जयपुर विकास प्राधिकरण ने 526 करोड़ के कार्यों को दी मंजूरी: आयुक्त आनन्दी
- 11 जुलाई, 2025 को, यह बताया गया कि, जयपुर विकास प्राधिकरण (जेडीए) ने अपनी परियोजना कार्यकारी समिति (पीडब्ल्यूसी) की बैठक के दौरान 526 करोड़ रुपये की बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजनाओं को मंजूरी दी थी।
- प्रमुख स्वीकृतियों में विद्या आश्रम स्कूल के पास एक पुल को चौड़ा करने के लिए ₹40.17 करोड़ और गोविंद देव जी मंदिर में पर्यटन विकास के लिए ₹5.5 करोड़ शामिल हैं। राम मंदिर के पास एक तीन-लेन रोड ओवर ब्रिज को भी मंजूरी दी गई। प्रमुख सड़क विकास आवंटनों में ज़ोन 11 के लिए ₹182 करोड़ और ज़ोन 12 के लिए ₹109 करोड़, और ज़ोन 12A के लिए ₹92.33 करोड़ शामिल हैं।
- अन्य उल्लेखनीय परियोजनाओं में आंतरिक सड़क निर्माण, विद्युतीकरण, निचले इलाकों में बाढ़ नियंत्रण, तथा सांगानेर, चितौरा नॉलेज सिटी और बानी पार्क में सुधार शामिल हैं।
1605. Indian Railways takes giant leap with AI-powered train safety tech to prevent accidents in real-time
- On 11 July, It was reported that, Indian Railways had signed an MoU with the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) to implement a cutting-edge Machine Vision Based Inspection System (MVIS) using AI and machine learning.
- This system, installed along railway tracks, will scan moving trains to detect defects like loose or missing parts in real-time, enabling faster and safer maintenance.
- The initiative marks a major step towards automation and safety in rail operations. Additionally, Indian Railways plans to recruit over 50,000 new employees by the end of FY 2025-26, having already issued 9,000 appointment letters and conducted exams for 1.86 crore candidates.
1606. Tamil Nadu Greenlights Rs 7,434 Crore Infrastructure Projects Including Highways And Bridges
- On 9 July 2025, It was reported that, The Tamil Nadu government has approved two major infrastructure projects worth ₹7,434 crore, including a ₹505.56 crore plan to construct 100 high-level bridges across the state, as per a Government Order issued by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.
- The final selection was made based on on-ground inspections, longstanding community demands, and responses received through the ‘Ungal Thoguthiyil Muthalvar’ scheme.
- The remainder of the funding will support road strengthening, development of industrial corridors, enhancement of district-level infrastructure, construction of river bridges, and road safety measures.

1607. DRDO boosts indigenous defence manufacturing with over 2,000 tech transfers in 2024: Official
- DRDO had significantly advanced India's self-reliance in defence manufacturing, signing over 2,000 licensing agreements for technology transfer and issuing more than 200 production licenses in 2024, an official said on 09 July, 2025.
- The official also highlighted that over 130 industries have been identified as development partners or production agencies in the last five years, bolstering indigenous defence capabilities.
- "Over 2000 agreements were signed for technology transfer licenses," Chandrika Kaushik, Director General (PC&SI) of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said while speaking at the CII Manufacturing Conclave East in Kolkata.
1608. India Launches First Indigenous Diving Support Ship INS Nistar
- On July 9, 2025, the Indian Navy received INS Nistar, the country’s first indigenously designed and built Diving Support Vessel (DSV). Built by Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Visakhapatnam,
- The name “Nistar” comes from Sanskrit, meaning rescue or salvation. The ship is 118 meters long, weighs around 10,000 tonnes, and is equipped with modern diving equipment. It can carry out saturation diving up to 300 metres deep and has a side diving stage for dives up to 75 metres.
- The arrival of INS Nistar is seen as a milestone in India’s effort to become self-reliant in defence production.
- The ship will enable the Navy to conduct deep-sea diving and rescue missions, representing a significant milestone for the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
1609. Gaganyaan Service Module Propulsion System completes 2 hot tests
- On July 9, 2025 ISRO announced that it had successfully conducted two hot tests of the Gaganyaan Service Module Propulsion System (SMPS) at its Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri on July 3, 2025
- ISRO stated that the short-duration tests, lasting 30 and 100 seconds respectively, were conducted to validate the current configuration of the SMPS test article. The propulsion system functioned normally, with performance matching pre-test predictions.
- ISRO is aiming to conduct at least two key missions related to the Gaganyaan project this year. The space agency plans to first launch the second Test Vehicle mission, followed by an uncrewed mission.

1610. Tripura develops over 25,000 ha of organic land, exports over 1300 mt products
- On July 9, 2025, it was reported that Tripura has developed over 25,000 hectares of certified organic farmland and exported 1,332 metric tons of organic produce, including pineapple, bird’s eye chilli, ginger, turmeric, and aromatic rice, over the past three years, as announced by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister at the first Organic Buyer-Seller Conference in Agartala.
- The state has established 53 certified organic Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) to promote high-value crops like GI-tagged Queen Pineapple, Kew Pineapple, Bird’s Eye Chilli, Black Rice, and Aromatic Rice, with exports reaching major Indian cities and international markets like Oman, Dubai, and Dhaka.
- The Buyer-Seller Meet, organized by the Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency (TSOFDA), facilitated five MoUs/LoIs with institutional buyers like GShoots Pvt. Ltd. and SR Spices Pvt. Ltd., aiming to boost the agro-economy and farmer livelihoods.
