1571. Indian electronic exports hit $40 billion: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw
- On 19 July 2025, Union Minister announced that India’s electronics exports have surpassed $40 billion, reflecting an eight-fold growth in 11 years, while domestic production has grown six times, during his address at IIT Hyderabad’s 14th Convocation.
- The Minister stated that India’s first commercial semiconductor chip will be produced this year and projected India’s emergence among the top five global semiconductor nations, driven by focus on equipment and material innovation.
- Minister noted rapid progress in the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train, expected by August–September 2027, and highlighted the success of India’s indigenous 4G stack, now deployed on 90,000+ telecom towers nationwide.

1572. India successfully test-fires Prithvi-II and Agni-1 ballistic missiles from Odisha range
- On 17 July 2025, India successfully test-fired Prithvi-II and Agni-I Short-Range Ballistic Missiles from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Odisha, validating all operational and technical parameters under the Strategic Forces Command, as per the Ministry of Defence.
- On 16 July, 2025 India destroyed two high-speed aerial targets at 4,500+ meters altitude in Ladakh using the upgraded Akash Prime system, featuring an indigenous Radio Frequency seeker and enhancements based on user feedback.

1573. From 91,000 Km To 1.46 Lakh Km: India Built World’s 2nd Largest Highway Network In Just A Decade—Details
- On 17 July 2025, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways stated that India’s national highway network has expanded from 91,000 km in 2014 to over 1.46 lakh km, making it the world’s second-largest. This was revealed during a press briefing on India’s decade-long road development journey.
- Between FY14 and FY25, government spending multiplied 6.4 times, creating over 634 crore man-days of employment (direct, indirect, and induced), highlighting the sector’s pivotal role in job generation across India.
- Over 10,000 km of national highways have been constructed in the Northeast in ten years, and a Delhi Decongestion Plan has begun with new expressway links and a road tunnel to reduce traffic and pollution.

1574. GRSE launches double-lane modular bridge on remote Ladakh road
- On 17 July, it was reported that Defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) had successfully fabricated and launched a 280-feet multi-span double-lane modular steel bridge on the Phobrang–Marsimik La–Hot Spring road in Ladakh.
- The bridge, which has been handed over to Project Himank of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), was launched in just 20 days in one of the most remote and difficult terrains of the country, the GRSE official said.
- Minister stated that the bridge will enable "seamless connectivity for the movement of troops and equipment for the Indian Army." he said that the GRSE, which is primarily a warship builder defence PSU, has already supplied 56 such bridges across the country to BRO.

1575. Indian Navy commissions indigenous Diving Support Vessel to boost underwater operations

- On July 18, 2025, RRP Defence through its entity Vimananu Ltd has joined hands with French-American firm CYGR to establish a high-tech drone manufacturing and R&D facility in Navi Mumbai marking a significant boost to India’s drone ecosystem under “Make in India”.
