1171. DRDO organises conclave for capacity building of MSMEs for development of UP Defence Industrial Corridor
- On September 07, 2025, DRDO's Defence Technology and Test Centre (DTTC), Lucknow, conducted a conclave at Amausi Campus to apprise and collaborate with MSMEs and start-ups for Defence R&D and production to further develop the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, according to a release by the Ministry of Defence.
- More than 100 participants from various MSMEs, Start-Ups, and Laghu Udhyog Bharti deliberated on aspects of Skill Development, Funding for R&D, Technical Consultancy, and technology development and transfer by DRDO.
- Defence Minister has complimented DRDO and the MSMEs for organising the conclave and appreciated the important role played by MSMEs to realise Prime Minister's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat
1172. AstraZeneca Earmarks ₹176 Cr Investments in India; to Boost GITC in Chennai
- On September 6, 2025, during the TN Rising London campaign held as part of CM of Tamil Nadu UK visit, AstraZeneca announced a ₹176 crore investment in Chennai to expand its Global Innovation & Technology Centre (GITC).
- AstraZeneca India MD Siva Padmanabhan said the expansion will boost AI, ML, and data-driven healthcare. CM Stalin welcomed the investment, calling it a testament to Tamil Nadu’s global innovation excellence and appeal for forward-looking industries.

1173. Meghalaya signs MoU with Japan’s Asean One to create overseas career pathways for youth
- On September 5, 2025, Meghalaya CM signed an MoU in Tokyo with Japan’s Asean One Co. Ltd. through MSSDS, to train and place youth in global careers across healthcare, hospitality, IT, and allied sectors, starting with 500 candidates.
- Chief Minister initiated talks during his April 2025 Japan visit, leading to the MoU. Labour Minister Shakliar Warjri said the programme, including Japanese language and cultural training, aims to ensure long-term employability and deepen Meghalaya–Japan ties.
- The initiative will scale to 5,000 placements in five years. Asean One CEO Toshiaki Nishikawa, aligned with India’s Global Skill Hub vision, met PM Modi at the Aug 2025 India–Japan Summit, highlighting the synergy in workforce mobility collaboration.

1174. India’s first telecom system with indigenous chips gets TEC certification
- On 6 September 2025, According to IT Minister India achieved a milestone as a telecom system powered by domestically manufactured chips received TEC certification from the Department of Telecommunications, confirming quality and performance standards under the ‘Make in India’ semiconductor initiative.

1175. Sikkim records highest GST growth among smaller states with 39% rise in August
- on 6 September, 2025, It was reported that, In August 2025, Sikkim registered ₹454 crore GST collections, a 39% Y-o-Y rise—the highest among small states. The growth, driven by tourism, retail, and hospitality, highlights stronger economic activity and improved compliance, especially in Gangtok and key districts.
- According to CBIC data and officials, higher revenue gives Sikkim fiscal space for development. Traders, SMEs, and tourism operators, adopting digital billing and compliance tools, have boosted collections. Finance officials said funds will directly support service delivery and growth projects.
- Additional GST revenue will aid road infrastructure, healthcare expansion, and education modernisation. Sikkim’s surge stood out in the Northeast, while India’s gross GST hit ₹1.86 lakh crore nationally. Experts called the state’s growth resilient, reflecting festive demand and effective governance.

1176. MP CM transfers Rs 20.6 crore relief fund to farmers for crops damaged by excessive rains, floods
- On September 6, 2025, Madhya Pradesh CM M virtually interacted with flood-affected farmers and transferred ₹20.6 crore relief to 17,500 farmers across 11 districts, reaffirming the government’s commitment to sensitive governance and timely assistance.

- India’s organic food market — currently valued at $1.9 billion — is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.13 per cent to $10.8 billion by 2033. Meanwhile, the food ingredients segment is growing at 7–8 per cent annually.

1178. EU ban on Russian fuel: India's diesel exports to Europe surge 137% in Aug

1179. Tripura Government Releases Rs. 10 Crore from CM’s Relief Fund for Flood Victims
- On September 5, 2025 in Agartala The state government has released Rs. 10 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support ongoing disaster relief efforts. The fund has been handed over to the Revenue Department for distribution among those affected by last year’s devastating floods.
- The fourth installment from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has been released, taking the total post-flood relief disbursal to Rs. 35 crore.
- The mid-August deluge of last year left a trail of destruction, claiming 24 lives, damaging infrastructure and property worth over Rs. 15,000 crore, and affecting nearly 17 lakh people across the state.

1180. State government allocates ₹2,126 crore for metro connectivity to Parandur airport
- On 5 september, 2025 It was reported that , The Tamil Nadu government sanctioned ₹2,126 crore for preparatory work on metro rail connectivity to the proposed greenfield airport at Parandur, Chennai. Phase I will extend the elevated corridor up to Sunguvarchatram, covering 28 km with 14 stations.
- The corridor, planned by Aarvee Associates, will be built in two phases. Phase I links Poonamallee to Sunguvarchatram, integrating with Corridor 4 and existing/under-construction lines. Land acquisition (₹1,836 crore) and preliminary civil work (₹252 crore) are the initial steps.
- The total 53-km corridor will have 20 stations, support speeds up to 80–100 kmph, and connect key locations like Sriperumbudur and Kuthambakkam bus terminus. Estimated cost is ₹15,906 crore, with Phase I at ₹8,779 crore, integrated with NHAI’s elevated corridor.
