1111. Titagarh Rail Systems launches third indigenous diving support craft for Indian Navy
- On September 15, 2025 It was reported that TRSL launched the third Diving Support Craft into the Hooghly River at 16:10, under the Ministry of Defence’s Make in India initiative.
- The DSC, launched by Mrs. Kangana Berry, is designed to support Navy diving teams through underwater repair, salvage, and training, using domestically sourced systems.
- TRSL has delivered over 35 vessels and is expanding its shipbuilding capacity at Falta shipyard, with upcoming projects including Coastal Research Vessels for the Geological Survey of India.
1112. Centre, Arunachal ink development package pact ahead of Upper Siang project
- On September 15, 2025, the Centre and Arunachal Pradesh government signed an MoU in Siang for a special development package as a pre-investment activity of the proposed Upper Siang Multipurpose Storage Project.
- The agreement, signed between the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Water Resources Department and the state government, focuses on empowering local communities through livelihood activities, infrastructure upgrades, and strategic market linkages.
- India’s counter to China’s mega-dam project is the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (11,000 MW capacity, multi-billion cubic metre reservoir), aimed at power generation, flood moderation, water security, and sustaining flows for Assam and Bangladesh.

1113. PM Modi inaugurates interim terminal building at New Civil Enclave of Purnea Airport in Bihar
- On 15 September, 2025 Prime Minister inaugurated the interim terminal building at Purnea Airport, Bihar, and initiated multiple projects worth around ₹36,000 crore to boost infrastructure, agriculture, and connectivity.
- Civil Aviation Minister , Bihar CM , Governor and Deputy CMs accompanied him, as development works were launched through collaborative state-centre efforts.
- Modi launched the National Makhana Board, laid foundation stone for Bihar’s largest private sector thermal power project (₹25,000 crore, Pirpainti), and the Kosi-Mechi river-link project, while inaugurating rail projects and flagging off multiple trains.
1114. Indian Army launches first freight train on USBRL in Jammu and Kashmir to boost winter stocking, civil-military collaboration
- The Indian Army ran its first dedicated freight train on the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) from Banihal Dry Port to Anantnag on September 12–13, 2025.
- The train carried 753 metric tonnes of winter supplies for Army units in Jammu & Kashmir, marking a major step in its Advance Winter Stocking strategy.
- This rail initiative helps the Army in the Himalayan region and supports local farmers by carrying Kashmiri apples to Indian markets, reducing losses from road blockages.
1115. Indian Navy gets indigenous anti-submarine warfare ship to boost maritime prowess
- The Indian Navy received the second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) named Androth on September 13, 2025, in Kolkata.
- The ship was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) with over 80% indigenous content, featuring waterjet propulsion, torpedoes, and anti-submarine rockets.
- Named after Androth Island in Lakshadweep, the vessel strengthens India’s coastal defence, submarine-hunting ability, and supports the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision.
1116. Over 3,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs Operational in Jammu and Kashmir.
- In a major push to decentralize primary healthcare, the Government of India launched the Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) initiative under the Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) scheme.
- Aiming to provide Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) by upgrading Sub Health Centres (SHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the country.
- As of 29 July 2024, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare officially reported that Jammu & Kashmir had 3,104 operational AAMs, and Ladakh had 321, ensuring frontline health access in remote regions. 1117. GoI Approves Three New Medical Colleges for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh
- The Indian government has greenlit the establishment of three new medical colleges in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, marking a significant step in expanding medical education and healthcare access in underserved regions, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
- Under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), Jammu & Kashmir will see new medical colleges in Udhampur and Handwara in Kupwara district, while Ladakh will get its inaugural medical college in Leh. The initiative aligns with New Delhi’s broader push to establish 157 medical colleges nationwide, prioritizing aspirational districts.
- Jammu & Kashmir already hosts five medical colleges in Anantnag, Baramulla, Rajouri, Doda, and Kathua, set up under earlier phases of the scheme. The region has also secured approval for 196 postgraduate (PG) seats and 60 MBBS seats across various institutions to bolster medical training opportunities.

1118. Government sets up 20 dialysis centres under PM-NDP
- The government has established 20 dialysis centres across all of Jammu and Kashmir to promote the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PM-NDP).
- According to health officials, at least five to eight dialysis machines have been installed in each of the dialysis centres in all 20 districts. Over 125 machines have been installed in J&K.
- A total of 62 dialysis machines were provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI, 40 by the World Bank and 22 procured under the National Health Mission in J&K. “Thousands of dialysis sessions have been conducted so far.

1119. Rural roads built under PMGSY cross 7.83 lakh km mark
- On September 14, 2025,Over 1.83 lakh rural roads totalling 7,83,727 km have been completed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) so far, along with 9,891 bridges leading to far greater connectivity for remote villages.
- 1.91 lakh roads (8,38,611 km) and 12,146 bridges have already been sanctioned under PMGSY. The scheme is increasingly incorporating green technologies with 1,66,694 km of roads sanctioned under such methods and 1,24,688 km already built using eco-friendly or non-conventional construction practices.
- The programme includes targeted work in Left-Wing Extremism affected districts across nine states to improve security and accessibility. The government has also approved Phase IV (since Sept 2024) to connect 25,000 unconnected habitations, especially in special category areas, tribal regions, hill/desert regions, aspirational districts, etc.

1120. 8 dead as avalanche hits BRO camp in Uttarakhand's Mana
- On 28 February 2025, eight people died after a Border Road Organisation (BRO) camp in Mana was struck by an avalanche. A total of 46 persons had been rescued and were under various stages of treatment.

- The Indian Army concluded the search and rescue operations at the Mana area of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand on 2 March 2025. These operations were part of the relief efforts to rescue the trapped BRO workers after the avalanche on February 28, 2025.
