- ‘जल ही जीवन है’ इस बात का एहसास हमें तब होता है, जब हमारे आसपास के जलस्रोत सूखने (Water Crisis In Bengaluru) लगते हैं। जब पानी की किल्लत होती है, तब हमें पानी के बचाव और संरक्षण का ख़्याल आता है। बेंगलुरु में रहनेवाले लोगों के साथ भी ऐसा ही कुछ हुआ। बेंगलुरु के बेगुर में ‘मेट्रोपोलिस गुरुकृपा अपार्टमेंट परिसर’ के बोरवेल, साल 2018 में सूखने लगे थे।
- वहां, जब पानी की किल्लत होने लगी, तो लोगों ने पानी के टैंकर खरीदने का मन बना लिया। लेकिन इसी अपार्टमेंट में एक शख्स ऐसा भी था, जिसे पानी के टैंकरों की जरूरत नहीं थी। दरअसल, उनके पास एक ऐसा रेन वॉटर हार्वेस्टिंग सिस्टम (Rain Water Harvesting System) प्लान था, जिसके बलबूते वह पानी की किल्लत से लड़ सकते थे।
- RWH सिस्टम के लिए सामान खरीदना ज्यादा महंगा सौदा साबित नहीं हुआ। गणेश और अपार्टमेंट में रहने वाले कुछ लोगों ने मिलकर एक ई कॉमर्स वेबसाइट से जरूरत का सारा सामान खरीदा। इस पर लगभग 20 हजार रुपये का खर्च आया था और फिर प्लंबर की मदद से इसे परिसर में इंस्टॉल करा दिया गया।
- साल 2019 में जब बारिश हुई, तो उसके बाद से सिस्टम ने प्रभावी तरीके से काम करना शुरू कर दिया। सिस्टम को तैयार करने में जितना भी खर्च आया था, वह कुछ समय में ही वसूल हो गया। दरअसल, अब पानी के टैंकर पर खर्च होने वाला पैसा बचने लगा। अपार्टमेंट में लगे प्लांट से, अतिरिक्त पानी पास की झील में चला जाता है, जो धीरे-धीरे घटते जल स्तर को सुधारने में मदद करेगा।

- उन्होंने एक ऐसा शेल्टर होम डिजाइन किया, जिसे कहीं भी आसानी से शिफ्ट किया जा सकता है, जिसमें महामारी का खतरा नहीं होगा और सबसे खास बात यह है कि यह सस्ता होने के कारण, आम आदमी की पहुँच से बाहर नहीं होगा।
- उन्हें कॉमनेवेल्थ मिशन के तहत अपने आर्किटेक्चरल इनोवेशन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए, 3 लाख रुपए भी दिए गए हैं। अली के इस डिजाइन को ग्लोबल स्टूडेंट अवॉर्ड के तहत टॉप-60 में भी चुना गया है और यदि वह इसे जीत जाते हैं, तो उन्हें सम्मान के रूप में 7 करोड़ रुपए मिल सकते हैं।
- अली को इस पोर्टेबल डिजाइन के लिए प्रतिष्ठित डायना अवॉर्ड, अर्न्स्ट एंड यंग अवॉर्ड, कॉमनवेल्थ मिशन द्वारा सस्टेनेबल डेवलपमेंट अवार्ड जैसे कई पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया है। साथ ही, उनके आर्किटेक्चरल इनोवेशन को संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम द्वारा भी मान्यता दी गई है।

- Ankit has also constructed a sofa made from mud and used plastic and glass bottles. “These bottles were collected as waste from rivers and the Hogenakkal waterfall located nearby,” Ankit says.
- In addition, the village has two ponds for rainwater harvesting, 60 fruit-bearing plants, and an organic farm. “We grow vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, green chilli, okra, and bitter gourd, as well as fruit trees like mango, tamarind, and jackfruit, among others. The village is self-reliant when it comes to procuring vegetables and fruit supply,” Ankit explains.

- more than 73 lakh 44 thousand doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The Ministry said that a total of 11 thousand 919 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
- India's Active caseload stands at one lakh 28 thousand 762 and the active cases account for less than one per cent of total cases and is currently at 0.37 per cent, the lowest since March 2020. The recovery rate is currently at 98.28 per cent, the highest since march,2020. A total of 11 thousand 242 people recovered in the last 24 hours and total recoveries touched over three crore 38 lakh and 85 thousand.
- Over 62 crore 82 lakh COVID tests have been conducted in the country so far. In the last 24 hours, more than 12 lakh 32 thousand tests were conducted.

- The second indigenous aircraft carrier has been budgeted for in the Indian Navy's Maritime Capability Perspective Plan (MCPP).
- The Navy is expected to take delivery of the country's first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier in April 2022 and it will be commissioned in August 2022 as INS Vikrant. This has been built by the state-owned Cochin Shipyard Limited and is 40,000 tonnes.
- the design and development is ready and the project will be rolled out soon. So far the Indian Navy has just one aircraft carrier compared to China which is in the process of commissioning its third aircraft carrier. Presently, Indian Navy is operating INS Vikramaditya, which is 45,000 tonnes and is the modified Russian Admiral Gorshkov.

- Non-basmati shipments volume up 60%, wheat by over 500%
- Robust demand for Indian foodgrains has pushed up the agriculture produce exports by 23 per cent during the first half of the current fiscal to $11.04 billion from $8.9 billion in the same period a year ago.
- Non-basmati rice continued to top the export chart with shipments registering a 50 per cent increase in value at $2.95 billion against $1.96 billion in the year-ago period. Volumes of non-basmati rice were up 60 per cent at 8.19 million tonnes (mt) against 5.11 mt, according to the provisional data from Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

- The Indian Army is going to unveil a new digital pattern combat uniform, which would be lighter and more climate friendly, on this Army Day, January 15,
- The new camouflage uniform will be based on a "digital" pattern and they are expected to be showcased at the Army Day parade on January 15, government officials said.
- These camouflage uniforms would be totally different from the existing dress and the shirts would not be required to be tucked in by troops. The new camouflage dress would include a mix of colours including earthen and olive.
