1751. North Eastern Council approves Rs 14.22 cr for development projects in Tripura
- On June 16, 2025, the North Eastern Council (NEC) approved a Rs 14.22 crore package for development projects in Tripura, targeting rural infrastructure, agriculture, fisheries, education, and cultural preservation, as per the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department.
- Key allocations include Rs 10.71 lakh for pig breeding farms in Hawai Bari and Jalepha, Rs 2.64 crore for service delivery in Ganganagar and Raishyabari RD Blocks, Rs 1 crore for pond renovation, Rs 2 crore for six Integrated Seed Processing Plants, and Rs 3 crore for modernizing two agricultural markets.
- Additional funds support an Rs 80 lakh Integrated Pack House in Dhalai, Rs 1.51 crore for poultry hatcheries, Rs 30 lakh for a school building at Vivekananda Tripureswari Vidya Mandir, and initiatives like GI product workshops, an international chemistry conference, and solar-powered irrigation for orchid gardens.

1752. New Infrastructure Projects Launched in Samba
- On June 15, 2025, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K laid the foundation stone for a 500-seat auditorium and upgradation work at Government Higher Secondary School in Gurha Slathia, Samba, funded entirely through charitable contributions, fulfilling a February 2025 community demand for enhanced educational infrastructure.
- Alongside, a sports complex was announced, also charity-funded, to promote youth engagement and fitness, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to foster social equity, innovation, and economic resilience in Samba’s border areas.

1756. Fifth Fast Patrol Vessel 'Achal' built by Goa Shipyard launched for ICG
- ‘Achal’, the fifth in a series of eight Fast Patrol Vessels being built by Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) for the Indian Coast Guard, was ceremoniously launched on June 16,2025. in Goa. The vessel is 52 meters long, 8 meters wide, has a displacement of 320 tons, and can reach a top speed of 27 knots.
- The vessel was designed under strict dual-class certification from the American Bureau of Shipping and the Indian Register of Shipping. It is equipped for coastal protection, surveillance, and safeguarding offshore assets and island territories.
- Constructed at a cost of ₹473 crore, the project has significantly supported local industries and MSMEs by generating employment and encouraging domestic production. It marks a major step toward Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) in India's defence manufacturing sector.
1757. "Heartfelt gratitude to PM Modi, Nitin Gadkari": Dy CM Diya Kumari on Rs 1,914 crore nod for 40 Rajasthan road projects
- Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister on 16 June, 2025, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister for approving Rs 1,914.71 crore for 40 state road projects under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
- The projects, covering a total length of 1,000.90 kilometres, aim to enhance road connectivity and travel efficiency across the state.
- Deputy Chief Minister added "These projects mainly include strengthening and widening of sections of various state roads (31 major district roads, 8 state highways and 1 other district road).

1758. India's NSE and Cyprus Stock Exchange sign MoU to boost cross-border investments

1759. 100 m-long 'Make in India' steel bridge launched over DFC tracks for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project
- In a major milestone for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, a 100-metre-long steel bridge was successfully launched over the Dedicated Freight Corridor near Bharuch, Gujarat, as confirmed by NHSRCL, on 16 June 2025.
- The bridge was fabricated in Trichy and installed using an 84-metre launching nose, semi-automatic jacks, and over 55,000 high-strength bolts on temporary trestles.
- NHSRCL said, "Out of 300 km of superstructure, 257.4 km is constructed through Full Span Launching Method (FSLM) including 14 river bridges, 37.8 km through Span by Span (SBS), 0.9 km steel bridges (10 spans ranging from 60 to 130 m in 7 bridges), 1.2 km PSC bridges (20 spans ranging from 40 to 80 m in 5 bridges) and 2.7 km in station building."
1760. India Steps Into New Era Of Secure Quantum Communication: Defence Ministry Shares Big Update
- On 16 June 2025, It was reported that, The Ministry of Defence stated that DRDO and IIT Delhi had successfully conducted a quantum communication test on the IIT Delhi campus.
- In their test, They used quantum entanglement and a free-space optical link to send secure messages over 1 km, achieving a key rate of 240 bits per second with minimal errors.
- The test was seen as a major step forward in cybersecurity and military technology, as it promised highly secure communication for future use in critical sectors.
