- On September 11, 2025, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) received a ₹22.87 crore order from Indian Railways (South Western Railway) to design, supply, install, and commission KAVACH automatic train protection systems.
- State-owned BHEL will execute the project through its Bengaluru manufacturing plant. The order includes on-board locomotive equipment and trackside installations at stations, level crossings, intermediate block sections, and automatic block signaling locations.
- The Letter of Intent specifies an 18-month execution period. KAVACH is India’s indigenous automatic train protection technology aimed at enhancing safety by preventing collisions and improving operational efficiency in the railway network.

- On 12 September, 2025, It was reported that, IIT Madras and Guidance Tamil Nadu, the government’s nodal agency for investment promotion, have launched a new start-up and innovation dashboard named ‘INNOVATION-TN.’
- Minister, IIT Madras, and Guidance Tamil Nadu spearheaded the initiative. IIT Madras provides research oversight via CREST and YNOS, while Guidance Tamil Nadu drives industry engagement, enabling investors, industries, and start-ups to connect effectively.
- Tamil Nadu hosts nearly 19,000 start-ups, 2.2 lakh jobs, Rs 1,20,000 crore investments, 45 major ventures with Rs 200 crore-plus funding, and 228 incubatorsm the highest in India. The dashboard aids policy-making, attracts global investors, and strengthens district-level innovation.

- On 12 September, 2025, It was reported that, In Varanasi, during a bilateral meeting, India announced a $680 million special economic package for Mauritius, including redevelopment of Port Louis, Chagos Marine Protected Area projects, and infrastructure development to boost regional security and connectivity.
- Prime Ministers of India and Navinchandra Ramgoolam signed agreements, with India supporting Mauritius through grants and credit lines, hydrography cooperation, maritime capacity building, ship refitting, and officer training, reinforcing Mauritius as India’s strategic partner in the Indian Ocean.
- The package includes $25 million budgetary assistance, ATC tower, highway expansion, and navigation surveys. India backed Mauritius’ sovereignty over Chagos, stressing decolonization. Ramgoolam highlighted India’s symbolic role, while Modi reaffirmed India’s Neighbourhood First policy and Vision MAHASAGAR priorities.

- On 11 September, 2025 Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy launched a Rs 100 crore Call for Proposals at the 1st Annual Green Hydrogen R&D Conference in New Delhi, supporting start-ups working on green hydrogen innovation.
- The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will fund up to Rs 5 crore per project for pilot initiatives in hydrogen production, storage, transport, and utilisation, while 25 start-ups showcase technologies like electrolysers, AI optimisation, and biological hydrogen solutions.
- Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, India aims to produce 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030, expand 125 GW renewable capacity, attract Rs 8 lakh crore investment, reduce 50 million tonnes of CO₂, and boost employment and exports.

- On April 14, 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Van Dhan Scheme of Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) during the celebrations of Ambedkar Jayanti at Bijapur, Chattisgarh.
- The scheme envisages making tribals competent to add value to the products they collect from the jungle. Value addition will fetch better prices and will thereby increase the income of tribals engaged in this activity.
- Under Van Dhan, 10 Self Help Groups (SHGs) of 30 Tribal gatherers will be constituted. Each SHG will trained and provided with working capital to add value to the products, which they collect from the jungle. Training and technical support will be provided by TRIFED. Government is planning to set up 30000 centres across India for this purpose.
- The first “Van Dhan Vikas Kendra”, to be set up in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh will provide skill upgradation and capacity building training to 300 individuals and will have a primary processing and value addition facility.

- Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India, has entrusted the project ‘Semiconductor Fabrication & Characterization Training for Students from Tribal Community’ to Centre for Nano Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru under the central sector scheme.
- The Ministry of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with IISc Bangalore will provide basic training to 1500 tribal students and advanced training to 600 tribal students, in semiconductor technology over the next three years.
- As informed by IISC, Bengaluru, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has created 6 large Nano centers (including IISc) for delivering training in Semiconductor technology. The degree programs at these nano centers have representation from tribal community, as per the reservation policies.

- On 11 september 2025 it was reported that, The Indian Navy has commissioned its first 3D Air Surveillance Radar, Lanza-N, aboard a warship. Developed by Tata Advanced Systems with Spain’s Indra, this marks the first operational deployment of Lanza-N outside Spain.
- Tata Advanced Systems and Indra collaborated to design, test, and integrate the radar after successful sea trials with multiple naval and aerial platforms. A new assembly and testing facility in Karnataka supports ongoing production and faster deliveries.
- Lanza-N is a long-range, three-dimensional tactical radar capable of detecting friendly and hostile air and surface targets. This milestone positions Tata Advanced Systems as the first Indian firm to deliver next-generation naval surveillance radar systems.
