23071. Over 155 crore 39 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered under nationwide vaccination drive
- over 155 crore 39 lakh doses of COVID vaccines have been administered in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive
- more than 73 lakh eight thousand Covid vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours to the beneficiaries.

23072. MSN Labs enters into licence deal with DRDE for Covid-19 drug 2-DG
- Drug firm MSN Laboratories said it has entered into a licence agreement with the Defence Research & Development Establishment (DRDE) for the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of
- 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose (2-DG), used for the treatment of COVID-19. MSN labs will be launching the 2-DG as a twice-a-day product in sachet form under the brand name MSN 2D in strength of 2.34 g, the statement said.
- The company has entered into a licence agreement with DRDE and the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) establishments of DRDO for the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose (2-DG) in India
23073. Indian and Japanese naval ships undertake maritime partnership exercise in Bay of Bengal
- Indian Naval Ships Shivalik and Kadmatt undertook maritime partnership exercise with Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) Ships Uraga and Hirado in the Bay of Bengal.
- Both JMSDF ships are part of Minesweeper Division One and are on deployment to Indian Ocean Region with Captain Noguchi Yasushi, Commander Minesweeper Division One embarked on-board JS Uraga, said a statement of the Ministry of Defence.
- Ministry of Defence statement then, JIMEX-21 aimed at further enhancing the cooperation and mutual confidence between the two navies and fortify the long-standing bond of friendship between the two countries. JIMEX series of exercises had commenced in January 2012 with special focus on maritime security cooperation.

23074. Ultra And Mahindra Partner To Win Major Contract With The Indian Navy
- The contract is worth approximately £60 million to Ultra. Deliveries are due to commence in 2024 and to be completed by 2030.
- IADS provides a powerful multi-sensor ASW capability using an in-line active and passive towed Low Frequency Variable Depth Sonar as well as Torpedo Defence with embedded detection, classification & localisation to defeat detected Torpedo threats.
- “IADS is the first major contract from the Indian Navy to an Indian private sector company for underwater detection and protection from threats. Mahindra is looking forward to delivering IADS and further build partnerships with Ultra in other programmes. This contract once again epitomises the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Indian Government.”
23075. Portal aimed at boosting trade between India's northeast and Bangladesh launched
- A specially designed portal has been launched to facilitate trade between Bangladesh and India’s northeast. The portal has been developed by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) along with Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Guwahati.
- The portal, aimed at facilitating business to business dealings and collaborations, contains a detailed database of exporters and importers of northeast India and Bangladesh.
- The portal will also serve as a common platform where buyers and sellers of both two countries would be able to carry on business dealings and negotiations.

23076. Philippines awards USD 375 million contract for BrahMos anti-ship cruise missiles
- In a major success for the government's plans to increase defence exports, the Philippines has accepted Indian BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited's proposal worth USD 374.9 million to supply Shore-Based Anti-Ship Missile systems for the Philippines Navy.
- "The Notice of Award has been communicated to BrahMos officials by the Philippines Department of National Defense accepting the proposal worth around USD 375 million," government officials said here.
- The BrahMos export order would be the biggest for the country in this field and is likely to propel India amongst the arms exporter countries as more orders for the missile are expected from other friendly countries too.

23077. This Superfast Train to Connect Haryana With Delhi. All You Need to Know
- The Indian Railways has decided to operate a super-fast train between Delhi and Hisar. Preparations are underway for the new train, and the Ministry of Railways will get the required elevated railway line laid on the route.
- At present, the distance of 180 km between Delhi-Hisar is covered in four hours by normal train. After the new rail line is elevated, the distance can be covered in just two and a half hours.
- The process of acquiring land in the area of Prithla and Palwal will begin soon. A link will be made to connect to the economic corridor.
23078. Himachal CM inaugurates first heliport in Shimla under Swadesh Darshan scheme
- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has inaugurated a heliport on the outskirts of the city of Shimla.
- The inauguration ceremony took place on January 12 at Sanjauli, a suburb of Shimla. This is the first among the six heliports to be built under Swadesh Darshan and UDAN-2 schemes. Thakur said the heliport near the Sanjauli-Dhalli bypass was constructed for Rs 18 crore.
- UDAN 2.0 primarily focuses on transporting perishable food products from the hilly areas, northeastern states, and tribal areas. The scheme aims to ensure seamless, cost-effective, time-bound air transportation and associated logistics for all Agri-produce originating especially from the Northeast, hilly and tribal regions of the country.
23079. Under Mission Sagar, INS Kesari Delivers 500 Tonnes Of Food Aid To Mozambique
- It is the eighth such deployment under Mission Sagar and is being conducted in close coordination with the ministry of external affairs, and other central government agencies.
- Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kesari reached Port of Maputo, Mozambique to deliver 500 tonnes of food aid under Mission Security And Growth for All in the Region (Sagar).
- INS Kesari undertook similar missions between May and June 2020 to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar and Comoros. The aid also included the deployment of medical assistance teams of the Indian Navy in multiple locations during the initial days of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).

- इंग्लैंड के प्रधानमंत्री ने उम्मीद जाहिर की कि भारत की उभरती अर्थव्यवस्था के साथ मुक्त व्यापार निश्चित रूप से इंग्लैंड के कारोबारियों व उपभोक्ताओं के लिए लाभदायक साबित होगा। इंग्लैंड के पास विश्वस्तरीय दक्षता है और भारत भी नवोन्मेष में पीछे नहीं है। दोनों देश इस समझौते का लाभ उठा सकते हैं
- इंग्लैंड की विदेश मंत्री मेरी ट्रेवेलियान और भारत के उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल के बीच प्रस्तावित वार्ता से ठीक पहले आया है। ट्रेवेलियान 15वीं भारत-इंग्लैंड संयुक्त आर्थिक एवं व्यापार समिति की बैठक के लिए दिल्ली में हैं। ट्रवेलियान ने कहा कि 2050 तक भारत दुनिया की तीसरी बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था के रूप में सामने आ चुका होगा। ऐसे में मुक्त व्यापार समझौता ब्रिटिश कारोबार को सबसे आगे रखने का सुनहरा अवसर है।
