1. India, Benin hold 3rd round of talks with aim to strengthen bilateral ties
- The third round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between India and Benin ended on June 25, 2024, with an aim to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, said the Ministry of External Affairs.
- The Indian delegation, led by Additional Secretary (C&WA), and the Beninese delegation, led by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Frank Armel Afoukou, discussed a wide range of issues, including political, trade and economic, defense, development partnership, capacity building, cultural relations.
- Both countries sides also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest and agreed to enhance their cooperation in the multilateral fora. The consultations also focused on the promotion of developmental cooperation and capacity building in the spirit of South-South cooperation.
- The bilateral trade and investment between India and Benin has been growing steadily, with total bilateral trade reaching US$ 1.34 billion during 2022-23.

2. NABARD Launches AI-Powered Climate Resilient Tea Cultivation Project in Assam
- NABARD, Assam RO, sanctioned a unique project titled “Climate resilient tea cultivation and AI-based pest management for small tea growers” across the State.
- The implementing agency will be IFFCO Kisan Suvidha Ltd. (IKSL) and the Pilot will be implemented for the STGs of Sewujjyoti Tea Federation, located at Chapanalla in Barhampur Development Block of Nagaon district.
- Through such projects, NABARD disseminated the utility of artificial intelligence (AI) and various technological advancements in Agri-Horti sector for the greater benefit of farmers and artisans in rural areas.

3. Tripura takes steps to make state self-sufficient in fodder production
- Minister of Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD), announced on 26 June 2024 that the Tripura state government has initiated steps to achieve self-sufficiency in fodder production.
- Initiatives have been taken to make the state self-sufficient in fodder production. Animal husbandry plays an important role in the development of the rural economy.
- The initiatives have been taken to expand animal protection, disease prevention, and treatment systems in the state. Advanced infrastructure is being developed. Mobile ambulance services have also been launched in the state for better treatment of livestock.

4. Indian Railways clocks impressive growth in track renewal: 13.8% increase seen in FY 2023-24 from year ago
- The Indian Railways has registered an impressive growth in track renewal with a 13.8% increase in FY 2023-24 in comparison to the previous year 2022-23, said the Ministry of Railways.
- The railways renewed 5,227 track kilometers (TKM) in the FY 2022-2023 and 5,950 track TKM in the FY 2023-2024, according to the ministry.
- Indian Railways manages the fourth-largest national railway system in 2023, covering 104,647 km of running track and 68,426 km of route, with 60,451 km electrified.
- Indian Railways has completed 61% of electrification works in northeastern India, becoming the ninth-largest employer globally and the second-largest in India, with over 1.2 million employees.

5. India Energy Storage Week to propel ₹2000 crore investment, new global partnerships
- India is set to receive over ₹2000 crore in investment in energy storage and advanced battery projects during India Energy Storage Week, aiming to make India a global hub for clean technology.
- India's growing global energy prominence is highlighted at a week-long event featuring over 150 key partners, 1000 companies, and 5 new factory announcements from 30+ countries.
- Nash Energy inaugurated a 600 MWh Lithium Ion cell manufacturing plant in Karnataka, India, marking the first dedicated Li-Ion battery plant. BatX Energies is set to open a HUB-1 facility for battery recycling and materials extraction.
- IESW 2024, a global event, is set to sign over 5 MoUs and partnerships, including a significant agreement between IESA and Powering Australia, and will discuss India's battery-grade graphite roadmap.

6. Assam's first college-level drone pilot training center inaugurated in Boko
- In a groundbreaking initiative for Assam, the North-East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR), Government of India, in partnership with Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko, has established a Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) at the college.
- The first time drone training is being offered at the college level in Assam. The center, inaugurated on June 25, aims to equip individuals from North-East India, particularly Assam, with 21st-century skills.
- The inaugural batch comprises ten women from Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Assam, who will receive training free of cost under the central government's Drone DiDi scheme.
- The significant demand for drone pilots in India, with the country needing over 100,000 drone pilots compared to the current 10,000-20,000. The establishment of this training center aims to attract youth to the profession and potentially serve neighboring countries like Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, which also face a shortage of drone pilots.

7. ISRO arm NSIL signs $18-million deal with Australian govt for commercial satellite launch
- The Australian government has signed an $18-million memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Space Research Organisation's (Isro's) commercial arm NewSpace India Limited (Nsil).
- Australian firm Space Machines plans to launch a satellite inspection payload on Isro's Small Satellite Launch Vehicle in 2026, marking the largest Australian satellite launched to date.
- The collaboration marks one of India's first cross-border investments in the space sector since it was privatised in 2020. India’s private space economy has attracted $370 million in investments to date, with Hyderabad-based space launch vehicle provider Skyroot Aerospace leading the pack at $95 million.

9. Construction work for India’s first Gorilla glass manufacturing unit commences
- Bharat Innovative Glass Technologies (BIG Tech) held a ground-breaking ceremony for the country's first facility to produce high-quality cover-glass parts for mobile consumer electronics.

10. Ex-US ambassador-backed firm Terra plans big investment in Indian AI startups with $2.5-billion fund
- Terra Invest, a new investment firm backed by former US ambassador to Singapore Kirk Wagar, aims to invest a significant portion of its $2.5-billion fund into Indian artificial intelligence (AI) startups by 2025.
- Operating on a deal-based model, the firm has already completed transactions worth over $230 million.
