1. Assam: NTPC Bongaigaon launches girl empowerment mission to foster young talent

2. NDMC approves proposal for procurement of 200 MW solar power
- The New Delhi Municipal Council has approved a proposal for 200 MW solar power procurement to address the city's electricity deficit.
- The council approved a proposal for 200 MW solar power procurement through SECI for 25-year long-term allocation through ISTS Tranche-XI.
- The solar system is installed on 1,100 rooftops of government buildings, including 23 municipal schools and NDMC, and procured from the public sector undertaking Satluj Jal Vitran Nigam.

3. AstraZeneca India to invest Rs 250 crore to expand its Global Innovation and Technology Centre

4. Suzuki launches Rs 340 crore investment vehicle Next Bharat Ventures for Indian startups
- Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corporation launched Next Bharat Ventures, its venture investing arm for the Indian market with a corpus of Rs 340 crore to back early-stage startups.
- Bharat plans to invest in early-stage startups through a residency programme, similar to Antler and Y Combinator, with Suzuki likely to run the program in Bengaluru.
- Next Bharat will aim to make up to 20 investments every year over the next three to four years. It will look to invest Rs 1-8 crore in each startup.
- Next Bharat will focus on businesses that benefit workers in the informal economy, like gig workers and waste management workers, as well as those in the rural economy, involving farmers and artisans.

5. Rs 300 crore allocated by Defence Ministry to foster Make in India defence tech innovations

6. Rs 24,000 crore approved for 4-lane road from Meghalaya's Umiam to Assam's Silchar
- The Centre has approved Rs 24,000 crore for the construction of a four-lane road from Umiam to Silchar via East Jaintia Hills district to improve the road connectivity to Assam, Mizoram and Tripura.
- The total amount approved, Rs 12,000 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a 100-km stretch of road between Umiam and Malidor (both in Meghalaya).
- The remaining Rs 12,000 crore has been earmarked for the construction of the remaining 4-lane road in neighbouring Assam. The project help ease travel to Silchar, Mizoram and Tripura, connecting Guwahati in Assam.
