1. Qatar Offers Mirage 2000-5 to India
- India and Qatar are exploring a significant defence collaboration involving the potential purchase of 12 second-hand Qatari Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets. The development marks a notable step in the deepening defence and diplomatic relations between the two nations.
- On June 21, 2024, a Qatari delegation engaged in discussions with Indian defence officials in New Delhi. These talks centered on the potential acquisition of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft from Qatar. During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made to Indian officials, outlining the current condition and capabilities of the 12 Mirage 2000-5 jets.

2. Assam cabinet approves exemption of examination fees for SC/ST students applying for government service

3. Tripura Government Allocates Rs 10 Crore for Smartphone Assistance to Graduates in 2024-25 FY
- In a move to bridge the digital divide, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy announced on 2 July 2024, that the state government has allocated Rs 10 crore for providing financial assistance to graduates for purchasing smartphones in the current fiscal year 2024. It comes as part of the ongoing Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogayog Yojana.
- In the financial year 2020-21, our government launched this scheme to ensure youth, especially those from financially challenged families, have access to smartphones. Around 12,000 students who graduated that year will receive Rs 5,000 each to purchase a smartphone. The IT department will release the funds through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) once the bills are submitted.”

5. Jakson Green signs pact with NHPC for supply of 400 MW solar power
- Jakson Green has signed its first Power Purchase Agreement with NHPC for 400 MW solar power supply. Jakson Green has secured a significant agreement, solidifying its position as a rapidly growing Independent Power Producer with a total portfolio of 1 GW under development.
- The Rajasthan-based project, connected to the central grid, is expected to generate clean energy enough to power around four lakh households annually.
- Contributing to the elimination of nearly 752,000 MT/year of CO2 emissions, the project will also create valuable job opportunities during construction and operation phases.
- NHPC won a 400 MW capacity pan-India CTU connected project with a favorable tariff of Rs 2.53 per unit, scheduled for commissioning within 24 months.

6. Indian real estate registers $2.5 billion in investments in Q2: Report
- After a steady start in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, Indian real estate saw accelerated momentum in the second quarter (Q2), registering $2.5 billion of inflows -- the highest in any quarter since 2021, a new report showed on july 3, 2024.
- According to the professional services and investment management company Colliers, the industrial & warehousing segment accounted for the highest share of 61 per cent of total investments, at $1.5 billion, led by select large deals.
- Institutional industrial & warehousing investments increased 11 times in Q2 2024, driven by large deals, according to Piyush Gupta, MD at Colliers India, reflecting robust market confidence.
- The residential segment in India experienced a 7.5-fold increase in Q2 2024, accounting for 21% of institutional inflows, with foreign investments remaining robust, primarily from the US and UAE.
