- 1. Dipankar Neha Bhatt, a class 10 student from Karnataka’s Puttur city recently bagged the third prize at the national level of The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) Innovation award for students for developing an eco-friendly agri-sprayer.

Started as a small business, it has today become a large company, and is a regular feature on most of the kitchen shelves. Here’s the story behind this legacy.
- Badshah Masala is exported to over 20 countries. The brand also occupies prominent shelf space in the supermarkets, local grocery stores, as well as international markets, with a distributor network of 450 distributors.
- Badshah Masala deals in six categories and has around 60 SKUs where it produces 400-500 tonnes of spices monthly. - 2) Dipankar has also made a solar-powered hand washing system, a long-poled cutter and collector for coconuts and other fruits that are hard to reach, a device to collect mahua flowers from the ground, and a colour-coded thermometer to identify artificially and naturally ripened fruits.

- A potter in Chhattisgarh’s Kondagaon, 62-year-old Ashok Chakradhari has designed a special lamp that automatically refills oil and keeps the diya burning for an entire day.
- After watching multiple videos, Ashok made three different parts. The first was the lamp, the second, a dome-like structure that acts as a reservoir to hold the oil, and third, a tube-like structure to hold the reservoir over the lamp’s base.
- First, the reservoir needs to be filled with oil and turned upside down over the lamp’s base. This causes the oil to start pouring from the spout into the diya. Once the small opening in the diya is covered with oil, an air gap stops the oil from leaving the reservoir.

- 1. Kochi-based Agappe Diagnostics Ltd (ADL) said it will work closely with the Centre and state governments in their efforts to increase the rate of testing.
- 2. company Tuesday said it will make available over 10 lakh tests of reagents and supportive equipment in the coming months to augment the nation’s continuing fight against coronavirus.
- 3. “RT Lamp-based test kits can provide accurate test results in the shortest possible turnaround time and at competitive rates. This will relieve the public health sector from the heavy burden of test result backlogs,” company Managing Director Thomas John said.

- 1. महाराष्ट्र के औरंगाबाद में रहने वाले इंद्रजीत सिंह खस ने कभी भी यह नहीं सोचा था कि एक दिन लोग उन्हें आविष्कारक के तौर पर जानेंगे। उन्होंने बचपन से ही अपने पिता को बहुत मेहनत करते हुए देखा था। पंजाब में जब खेती-बाड़ी में कुछ नहीं बचता था तो उनके पिता रोज़गार की तलाश में औरंगाबाद के सोयागाव आकर बस गए। यहाँ उन्होंने कई तरह के काम किए लेकिन वह बार-बार असफल हुए। आखिरकार उन्होंने अपनी एक छोटी-सी वर्कशॉप शुरू की।
- 2. एक घटना का जिक्र करते हुए इंद्रजीत बताते हैं, “एक बार में एक किसान के यहाँ गया तो वहाँ देखा कि मजदूरों का मेला सा लगा हुआ है। पूछने पर पता चला कि अदरक और हल्दी की बुवाई हो रही है, इसलिए इतने ज्यादा मजदूर चाहिए। मैंने वहाँ एक-दो महिलाओं से बात की और पूछा कि इतनी देर झुककर काम करने से क्या कमर में दर्द नहीं होता? इस सवाल पर वह मायूस हो गई और कहा कि करना तो पड़ता है।”
- 3. बाज़ार में भी कई लोगों ने उनका मजाक बनाया लेकिन ऐसे भी लोग थे जो उनके प्रयासों की सराहना करते थे। साल 2009 में शुरू हुआ उनका सफर लगभग 3 साल बाद खत्म हुआ। उन्होंने आखिरकार अदरक और हल्दी की बुवाई के लिए मशीन बना ही ली। अपने एक दोस्त के खेत में उन्होंने मशीन का ट्रायल लिया और यह कामयाब रही।
- 4. यह ट्रैक्टर से चलने वाली बुवाई मशीन है। अदरक और हल्दी की बुवाई इससे आसानी से हो जाती है और यह एडजस्टेबल है। इससे आप अपने मन-मुताबिक हल्दी की गांठों के बीच की दूरी एडजस्ट कर सकते हैं। यह सबसे पहले ज़मीन में गड्ढा करती है। फिर ऊपर से हल्दी या अदरक की गाँठ नीचे आती है और यह गड्ढे में जाती है और फिर मशीन ही गड्ढे के ऊपर मिट्टी डालती है।

- 1. महाराष्ट्र के नागपुर में जन्मे और पले-बढे हिमांशु मुनेश्वर देवरे इन दिनों अपने एक खास आविष्कार की वजह से सुर्खियों में हैं। 24 वर्षीय हिमांशु ने इको-फ्रेंडली मेटेरियल से एक बैग कम डेस्क बनाया है। इसे स्कूली बच्चे अपनी कॉपी किताब रखने के लिए बैग और फिर स्कूल में बैठकर पढ़ने के लिए डेस्क के तौर पर इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं। उनका बनाया यह एक इनोवेशन, ज़रूरतमंद छात्रों के जीवन में दो ज़रूरी चीजों की कमी को पूरा कर सकता है।
- 2. उनके इनोवेशन की सबसे बड़ी खासियत यह है कि उन्होंने इसे उत्तर-भारत में सरकंडे या मूंज के नाम से जानी जाने वाली एक घास से बनाया है। मूंज घास का उपयोग ग्रामीण इलाकों में बहुत सारी चीजें बनाने के लिए किया जाता है जैसे कि टोकरी, रोटी रखने के लिए डिब्बा, बैठने के लिए मुढ़ी आदि। गाँव की औरतें अपने-अपने घरों के लिए खुद ही इस घास से दैनिक ज़रूरत की चीजें बना लेती हैं।
- 3. “फिलहाल, मैं एक एनजीओ के साथ मिलकर शहर के लिए इको-फ्रेंडली और किफायती इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर आइडियाज पर काम कर रहा हूँ। मेरे पास अभी इतने फंड्स नहीं है कि मैंने अपने इनोवेशन को बड़े लेवल पर मैन्युफैक्चर कर सकूं। इसके लिए काफी फंडिंग चाहिए होगी, जिसे जुटाने की कोशिश में हूँ,” उन्होंने आगे कहा।

- 1. IIT Guwahati scientists have developed Efficient Catalytic Systems for biofuel and lactic acid production from industrial/biomass wastes glycerol and ethanol respectively.

- 3. The team formulated efficient 'pincer' catalytic systems that transform industrial/biomass wastes into valuable chemicals.
- 4. Tiny amounts of these 'pincer catalysts' repeatedly convert large amounts of industrial waste such as glycerol into lactic acid and hydrogen. Such catalysts also efficiently convert bioethanol, a low-energy-density fuel, into high-energy-density butanol.
