22601. Assam may use Meghalaya formula to resolve border disputes with other states
- A day after meeting Chief Minister Sarma, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said in Kohima that his government was in favor of out-of-court settlement of the six-decade-old border dispute with Assam
- Government of Assam (Assam Government) border disputes with its three other neighboring states (border disputes, can use the same land swap formula agreed with Meghalaya to resolve the issue. Earlier this month, the Chief Ministers of Assam and Meghalaya met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
- Both the Chief Ministers apprised the Home Minister about the recommendations of the regional committees of both the states, in which 6 out of 12 disputed border areas were suggested to be divided between them with the help of land swap formula.

22602. Northeast Frontier Railway Launches Leased Cargo Train From Assam
- The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) as part of its Business Development Unit (BDU) initiatives from Saturday started operation of leased Parcel Cargo Express Train (PCET) from Assam to Goa.
- Goods like ready-made garments, tea, bamboo products and other handicrafts, spices, edible oil will be carried by parcel cargo express train
- More goods trains carrying other items including essential commodities will be arriving soon, providing a boost to the local economy.

22603. Open Synthetic Track, Astro-Turf Football Stadium To Be Built In Ladakh, Announces PM Narendra Modi
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that an open synthetic track and astro-turf football stadium will be built in Ladakh.

22604. Centre approves construction of 500 kms road in UT of Ladakh
- n a major boost to rural infrastructure development in the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Central Government has given nod to construction of 500-kilometre rural road network there, sanctioned under the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
- “Minister of Rural Development Giriraj Singh reviewed status and progress of PMGSY of Ladakh. 195 km of roads constructed in Ladakh in two years under PMGSY I/II and another 500 km sanctioned under PMGSY-III,” a tweet by the administration of Union Territory of Ladakh today said.
- “PMGSY roads not only connecting the rural areas but also promotion green technologies like use of plastic waste in road constructions. This will help in achieving the target of carbon neutral Ladakh.
22605. JSCL Signs Agreements For Development Of 23 Junctions, Setting Up Smart Traffic Booths In Jammu City
- Smooth flow of traffic and better pedestrian facilities are on the cards as Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) has signed two separate agreements for the development of 23 junctions and for setting up smart traffic booths in different parts of the city
- The 23 junctions across the city of temples will be developed and equipped with better facilities for citizens.
- The major works taken up under the junctions’ improvement programme include, Geometric improvement, pickup-dropoff locations, lighting, street furniture, Tree line, bus top, location of traffic Signal, drainage of road through catchpits, toilets and water ATMs.

- जम्मू कश्मीर के प्रसिद्ध पश्मीना उत्पादों, बसोहली चित्रकला और बांस की कलाकृतियों और उत्पादों से जल्द पर्यटक प्रदेश में दाखिल होते ही रूबरू होंगे। यही नहीं कारीगरों की मेहनत को सफल बनाने और स्थानीय स्तर पर रोजगार को बढ़ावा देने के इस प्रयास में पर्यटक इन वस्तुओं की खरीद भी मौके पर ही कर सकेंगे।

- हथकरघा में पश्मीना शॉल, मफलर और हस्तशिल्प में बसोहली चित्रकला के साथ-साथ बांस के स्थानीय उत्पादों को एक बेहतर मंच देने के लिए कुछ समय पहले विभागीय निदेशक ने लखनपुर का दौरा किया था। प्रदेश में दाखिल होने के साथ ही जम्मू कश्मीर के उत्पादों को यहां एक ही स्थान पर पर्यटक खरीद सकेंगे जिससे इसके कारीगरों को भी प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा।
22607. 100 EVs can be charged at one time at India's largest facility in Gurugram
- India's largest electric vehicle (EV) charging station has opened in Gurugram at the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway. With a capacity of 100 four-wheeler vehicles, the charging station is the largest in the country by a large margin.
- The previous largest EV station was in Navi Mumbai which has 16 AC chargers and four charging ports
- This station is now open with 96 chargers for technical inspection for various 'Certification Compliance' and 'Safety Standards' laid two weeks ago by the Power Ministry
22608. Bihar’s second rail tunnel, 903-feet long becomes operational
- Bihar has got its second rail tunnel – nearly 903-feet long. The first one built in 1861-1865 period between Jamalpur-Bhagalpur-Sahebganj loop lines was in Munger district and the second one is also located in Munger, but built 157 years later adjacent to the earlier one.
- The work on the new tunnel cutting through Bariakol hill near Jamalpur railway station started on October 22, 2019 and was completed in 2022.
- a special train with nine bogies passed through the tunnel at a speed of 125 km per hour, the highest ever achieved on the route. In the first trial, a speed of 121 km per hour was achieved.
22609. At 8.30 am every day, this whole town in Telangana stands still for the national anthem
- Every day, at exactly 8.30 am, the national anthem is played at twelve major junctions in Nalgonda town in Telangana. All citizens, no matter what they are doing, stand still for those 52 seconds every morning. This new practice has brought people of all castes and creeds together to sing the national anthem every morning.
- The initiative was started on January 23 this year. Karnati Vijay Kumar, president of Jana Gana Mana Utsava Samithi, and his friends began the practice. They believe that singing the national anthem every morning will enhance patriotism among the masses.
- This trend has now spread to several smaller towns around Nalgonda in Telangana. Colonel Santosh Babu, who died during China-India skirmishes in 2020 in Galwan valley of Ladakh, was born and raised in Nalgonda area of Telangana.
22610. NTPC Q3 profit up 25% to Rs 4,132 cr
- NTPC reported a 24.6% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in its standalone net profit to Rs 4,131.9 crore in the three months ended December mainly on higher power sales.
- NTPC revenue increased 18.1% to Rs 29,837.1 crore in Q3 as the power company sold 67.6 billion units of electricity in the period, 11.4% higher than the corresponding period last fiscal. The company’s board has approved an interim dividend of Rs 4 per share for FY22.
- Currently, the total installed capacity of the power behemoth stands at 67,757.4 mega-watt (MW)and around 83% of it are coal-based power plants. To increase the share of renewables, the company aims to attain 60,000 MW of green capacity by 2032 from the current level of around 1,300 MW.
