941. BRO builds world’s highest motorable road in Ladakh, strengthening India’s strategic edge
- On 5 October,2025 It was reported that, The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) constructed the world’s highest motorable road at Mig La Pass in eastern Ladakh, at 19,400 feet, under Project Himank, enhancing strategic connectivity and adventure tourism in the remote region.
- BRO executed the Likaru Mig La Fukche road through oxygen-deficient, freezing conditions using advanced high-altitude engineering, improving troop mobility and civilian access while reducing reliance on air transport in winter.
- The road strengthens India’s defence preparedness along the China and Pakistan borders, complements projects like Zojila Tunnel and Nyoma airstrip, and promotes local economic growth and tourism, while showcasing India’s dominance in high-altitude infrastructure development.
942. MoS Shri Shripad Naik Inaugurates IREDA’s 45 kW Solar CSR Project for Goa Water Supply
- On 5th October 2025, Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy inaugurated a 45 kW On-Grid Solar Power System at a water pumping station in North Goa, installed under IREDA’s CSR initiative to achieve full solarization of the pumping load.
- The project was implemented by IREDA in collaboration with the Goa Drinking Water Department and local authorities. It is expected to generate around 60,000 units annually, demonstrating sustainable use of renewable energy for public water distribution.
- The initiative highlights IREDA’s commitment to community development through clean energy. It provides a replicable model for solarizing public services nationwide, promoting sustainable energy transition and reducing dependence on conventional power for essential services.
943. UP signs 95 MoUs to boost textile ind, create 1L jobs
- On 5 October, 2025 It was reported that, Uttar Pradesh aims to become a global textile hub as its handloom and textile department signed MoUs with 95 industrial units for the PM MITRA Park project, spanning 1,000 acres in Lucknow and Hardoi districts, attracting over Rs 10,000 crore investments.
- The state government (51% stake) and central government (49%) set up PM MITRA Park Uttar Pradesh Limited, an SPV to manage and execute the project efficiently. Collaboration with national and international companies will create employment for over one lakh people.
- The project strengthens UP’s presence in international textile supply chains, boosts industrial development, and is expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment while promoting transparency, timely execution, and global competitiveness in the textile sector.

944. India’s computer services exports up 30% since ChatGPT’s release – World Bank
- On 5 October, 2025 It was reported that, Since OpenAI launched ChatGPT in November 2022, India’s computer services exports have surged 30%, reaching $47.32 billion in April–June 2025-26, reflecting strong growth in software and BPO services, as highlighted during the Fourth Kautilya Economic Conclave.
- Franziska Ohnsorge, World Bank Chief Economist for South Asia, noted that the BPO sector rapidly adopted AI, with 12% of job postings now requiring AI skills. This adoption has boosted India’s services exports and strengthened its position in global AI readiness rankings.
- India’s services surplus ($81 billion) offsets a goods trade deficit ($122 billion), highlighting the importance of software exports. While private investment growth is slower post-pandemic and net FDI remains weak, AI adoption positions India as a competitive player in global technology and services markets.

945. NaMo Semiconductor Lab at IIT Bhubaneswar to boost chip design ecosystem, ‘Make in India’ drive: MeitY
- On 5 October, 2025Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology has approved the establishment of the ‘NaMo Semiconductor Laboratory’ at IIT Bhubaneswar, funded under MPLAD at ₹4.95 crore, aiming to strengthen India’s semiconductor research, design, and skilling capabilities in Odisha.
- The Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) will oversee the lab, equipped with ₹4.6 crore for equipment and ₹35 lakh for software. IIT Bhubaneswar will use the facility to train industry-ready professionals and support India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Design in India’ missions.
- The lab complements IIT Bhubaneswar’s SiC Research and Innovation Centre, supporting India’s growing semiconductor projects. It enhances R&D, builds talent for chip design and packaging, and contributes to India’s self-reliance and global competitiveness in the semiconductor sector.

946. Defence Ministry opens missile, shell production to private sector
- On 5 October, 2025 It was reported that, The Defence Ministry has amended the Revenue Procurement Manual to open the manufacturing of missiles, artillery shells, and ammunition to private players in India, aiming to ensure long-term firepower and promote Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence production.
- Private companies can now produce artillery shells, bombs, and missiles without needing an NOC from Munitions India Limited. The ministry has also directed DRDO to involve private firms in missile development, supplementing Bharat Dynamics and Bharat Electronics.
- The move strengthens India’s defence self-reliance amid global conflicts and rising demand for ammunition. It ensures uninterrupted supply during extended wars and boosts indigenous production of advanced weapons like BrahMos, Pralay, and Shaurya for future warfare needs.
947. Chhattisgarh Unveils Its First National Highway Tunnel: A Landmark in India’s Infrastructure Drive Built in Just 12 Months
- On 4 October,2025 , Chhattisgarh completed its first-ever national highway tunnel 2.79 km long under the Raipur Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor (NH-130CD). Built by NHAI’s Abhanpur Unit, this twin tube tunnel marks a major infrastructure milestone in central India.
- The National Highways Authority of India executed the project using advanced tunnelling technology in tough terrain, completing one tube in just 12 months. Chief Minister hailed it as a historic step towards Chhattisgarh’s economic and infrastructural growth.
- Part of Bharatmala Pariyojana, the tunnel will enhance trade, tourism, and connectivity between Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. It will shorten travel time, boost logistics efficiency, and serve as a crucial economic lifeline linking central India to eastern ports.

948. New freight, passenger trains enhance connectivity in northeast
- On 5 October, 2025 It was reported that, Indian Railways began freight train operations from Molvom station in Nagaland in September 2025. The first rake with 41 wagons of cement from Telangana arrived on September 24,2025 followed by an outward consignment of stone chips to Tripura on September 29,2025
- The Ministry of Railways is executing the Dimapur–Kohima (Dhansiri–Zubza) rail line project to improve connectivity in Nagaland.
- In parallel, the ₹8,000 crore Bairabi–Sairang line in Mizoram, inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi, has linked Aizawl to India’s railway network for the first time. These projects strengthen Northeast connectivity, boost trade, and promote regional development in challenging terrain.

949. Railways approves six-lane road-over-bridge near Mangalagiri
- On 4 October, 2025 it was reported that, The Ministry of Railways has approved a six-lane road over bridge (ROB) between Mangalagiri and Krishna Canal stations at an estimated cost of ₹112 crore. The bridge will be built on the E-13 extension road connecting Amaravati with NH-16.
- The project, fully funded by Railways, was initially planned as a four-lane bridge but later revised to six lanes considering future traffic. The location is strategic, linking Amaravati to the Chennai–Howrah railway line via Vijayawada.
- Preliminary design and drawing works will begin soon before tendering. The new ROB will ease traffic flow to the capital region, eliminate railway crossing delays, and enhance road and rail safety in the busy Amaravati–Vijayawada corridor.
950. Haryana: ₹325-cr Sabar Dairy inaugurated in Rohtak: India’s dairy sector grew by 70% in 11 years, says Shah
- Union Home and Cooperatives Minister the ₹325 crore Sabar Dairy (Amul) plant at Industrial Model Township, Rohtak, on 3 October, 2025 The facility will strengthen dairy supply in Haryana and the National Capital Region with modern production capacities.
- Sabar Dairy, established by Sabarkantha District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, will produce curd, yogurt, buttermilk, and sweets daily. Shah highlighted India’s 70% dairy growth over 11 years, plans to connect every village to a cooperative by 2029, and White Revolution 2.0 targets.
- The plant will generate employment, improve animal feed and manure management, and enhance cooperative procurement. Shah also attended the Khadi Artisan Festival, promoting ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ with modern machines and artisan support, while students protested alleged university mismanagement during his visit.
