2531. Vedanta Group to Invest Rs 50,000 Cr in Assam & Tripura's Oil & Gas Sector
- On February 25, 2025, Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal announced a Rs 50,000 crore investment in Assam and Tripura's oil & gas sector at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit.
- Vedanta’s Cairn Oil & Gas has already invested Rs 2,500 crore in the region and aims to produce 1,00,000 barrels of oil & gas per day, boosting the hydrocarbon industry.
- The investment will generate 1 lakh jobs, positioning Assam as a major energy hub and leveraging its rich natural resources for sustainable growth.

2532. Tata Power to invest Rs 30,000 crore in Assam, signs pact for 5 GW renewable projects
- On February 25, 2025, Tata Power signed an MoU with the Assam government to invest Rs 30,000 crore over five years for 5 GW of solar, wind, hydro, and energy storage projects.
- Assam will provide 20,000 acres of land, single-window clearances, and infrastructure support to facilitate seamless renewable energy adoption and promote Renewable Energy Parks.
- Tata Power Renewable Energy also signed an MoU with APDCL to expand rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, creating 3,000 direct jobs and boosting Assam’s clean energy transition.

2533. Arunachal Farmers to Receive Rs 226.46 Crore Under PM-KISAN Scheme
- On February 24, 2025, PM released the 19th installment of PM-KISAN, transferring Rs 226.46 crore to Arunachal Pradesh farmers as part of the nationwide Rs 22,000 crore disbursal.
- The scheme provides Rs 6,000 annually in three installments, benefiting 9.8 crore farmers, with Rs 2,000 directly deposited into their bank accounts.
- Arunachal Agriculture Minister Gabriel D Wangsu joined the virtual event, while KVKs organized exhibitions on natural farming, organic farming, and GI-tagged products.

2534. PSLV-C20 successfully launches 7 satellites
- On 26 February, 2013, Indo-French oceanographic study satellite ‘SARAL’ and six foreign mini and micro satellites were successfully launched ISRO’s PSLV-C20 rocket from this spaceport.
- The 410-kg SARAL with payloads—Argos and Altika—from French space agency CNES is meant for study of ocean parameters towards enhancing the understanding of the ocean state conditions.
- Besides SARAL, two micro-satellites UniBRITE and BRITE from Austria, AAUSAT3 from Denmark, STRaND from the United Kingdom, one micro-satellite (NEOSSat) and one mini-satellite (SAPPHIRE) from Canada were launched by PSLV, which yet again proved its versatality recording its twenty second successful flight in a row in its 23 missions of which the first one had failed.

2535. Isro's PSLV-C23 carrying French, German satellites successfully launched
- On 30 June, 2014, India successfully launched five foreign satellites from four countries on board PSLV-C23 rocket which placed them in orbit, an achievement described by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an 'endorsement' of the country's space capabilities.
- Besides its primary payload of 714 kg French Earth Observation Satellite SPOT-7, PSLV C23 carried and placed in orbit 14 kg AISAT of Germany, NLS7.1 (CAN-X4) and NLS7.2 (CAN-X5) of Canada each weighing 15 kg and the 7 kg VELOX-1 of Singapore.
- NLS 7.1 and NLS 7.2 are from the University of Toronto, Institute of Aerospace Studies/ Space Flight Laboratory in Canada. Both payloads would perform Two-spacecraft precision formation flying using differential GPS with centimetre-level relative position and sub-metre level accurate position control system.

2536. ISRO's PSLV-C28 successfully launches 5 British satellites
- On 11 July, 2015, ISRO successfully launched five British commercial satellites on board PSLV-C28 from Sriharikota spaceport in the heaviest commercial mission ever undertaken by it.
- Indian Space Research Organisation workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C28 placed the five satellites in sun synchronous orbit about 20 minutes after lift-off at 9.58 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre here.
- The three DMC3 satellites, each weighing 447 kg, was launched into a Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO) using the high-end version of PSLV-XL.

2537. PSLV-C30 successfully launches ASTROSAT into the orbit
- On 28 September, 2015, India successfully launched its first space research observatory ASTROSAT that will help in a detailed understanding of the universe and also put into orbit six foreign satellites including the first from the US.
- ISRO's trusted workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), in its 31st flight, injected ASTROSAT and the six co-passengers into orbit about 25 minutes after a perfect lift-off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre here.
- With a lift-off mass of about 1,513 kg, ASTROSAT was first injected into a 650 km orbit by PSLV-C30, followed by the other six satellites in the space of about three minutes.

2538. India launches six Singapore satellites onboard PSLV-C29
- On 16 December, 2015, India successfully put six Singapore satellites into orbit after a perfect launch of its polar rocket in its landmark 50th space mission from here that also gave a boost to its space business.
- The Singaporean satellites that would help the city-state gather information on disaster monitoring and urban planning were launched by ISRO's workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle(PSLV-C29) coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and India this year
- In a textbook launch, PSLV C-29 blasted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) here, about 110 km from Chennai, at 6 pm and released the six satellites one by one into a 550 km circular orbit, completing the exercise about 21 minutes later.

2539. All you need to know about ISRO's record launch PSLV-C34
- On 22 June, 2016, The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) created history by launching 20 satellites, including 17 foreign payloads, using its flagship rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C34 from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikotta.
- India's earth observation spacecraft Cartosat-2 Series satellite is similar to the earlier Cartosat-2, 2A and 2B.
- . According to ISRO, the total weight of all the 20 satellites is about 1,288 kg.

2540. PSLV-C35’s Historic Feat: ISRO Launches Satellites into Two Orbits for the First Time
- On 26 September, 2016, Indian Space Research Organisation successfully placed advanced weather satellite SCATSAT-1 and seven other satellites in orbits in its longest ever launch mission, which spanned over two hours and 15 minutes.
- It is for the first time that satellites were placed in two different orbits with a single rocket. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre director K Sivan said, “The rocket has placed all the satellites in precise orbits.”
- The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C35) carrying the eight satellites took off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 9.12am.
- After the first satellite injection, PSLV-C35 coasted for an hour before its fourth-stage engine was reignited and shut down, for about 20 seconds. This provided the rocket the necessary thrust to coast into the polar orbit at an altitude of 689km.
