241. MATTER launches India's first AI-defined vehicle platform; outlines a multi-segment roadmap
- On January 22, 2026, Ahmedabad-based electric mobility firm MATTER unveiled country's first AI-Defined Vehicles (AIDV) platform at its Technology Day 3.0, marking what the company called a structural shift in how electric two-wheelers are designed, engineered and evolved.
- With the launch, MATTER is positioning intelligence as the core layer of next-generation two-wheelers, signalling an ambition to lead the industry’s transition beyond software-defined vehicles toward intelligence-driven mobility.
- The AIDV platform lays out a scalable technology and product roadmap for the next 36–48 months, spanning multiple two-wheeler segments. The company noted that its journey toward AIDVs began with AERA, its electric motorcycle platform, which it describes as SDV 1.0.

Its innovative design enables a cost reduction of up to 70 per cent per part and increases annual throughput by up to six times.

243. Fresh Bus introduces long-haul electric buses with 15-minute rapid charging
- On 21 January 2026, Fresh Bus and Exponent Energy launched India’s first all-sleeper electric bus fleet with 15-minute rapid charging technology for long-haul intercity routes across India.
- Fresh Bus signed an MoU with Exponent Energy to deploy 250 electric sleeper buses supported by Exponent’s 1.5 MW rapid charging infrastructure at pitstops, enabling quick en-route charging.
- The rapid-charging model eliminates oversized batteries, enables ~1,000 km daily operations, begins on Hyderabad–Bengaluru, and aims for scalable national rollout with reduced costs and higher fleet utilization.

249. India exports Pinaka rockets to Armenia: Check the guided missile system’s capabilities that even France is interested in
- On January 20, 2026, the first batch of guided Pinaka rocket systems meant for Armenia has been flagged off by Defence Minister from a facility in Nagpur, Armenia is the first confirmed international buyer of the Pinaka system, though several other countries in Southeast Asia and Europe, including France, have shown interest.
- The development marks the start of deliveries under a roughly Rs 2,000 crore deal signed between India and Armenia for four Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher batteries along with anti-tank rockets, ammunition and other equipment.
- India had earlier delivered the unguided variant of the Pinaka rockets, with supplies beginning in July 2023 and concluding in November 2024.
- The Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher system is known for its accuracy and extended range. While earlier variants had a range of around 37.5 km, upgrades over time have increased its strike capability to 75 km, with the latest trial version achieving a range of up to 120 km.
250. AKTU, BRD Med College join hands for healthcare
