23911. शहद उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए मधुमक्खी पालकों का सम्मेलन
- कार्यक्रम में केंद्रीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह ने कहा बताया कि मधुमक्खी पालकों व सरकार के सामूहिक प्रयासों से वर्ष 2020-21 में देश में शहद का उत्पादन वर्ष 2013-14 के 76150 मीट्रिक टन से बढ़कर अब सवा लाख मीट्रिक टन हो गया है।
- मधुमक्खी पालन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए नागालैंड में मधुमक्खी पालकों का सम्मेलन आयोजित किया गया। साथ ही नागालैंड स्थित केंद्रीय बागवानी संस्थान में किसान भवन का लोकार्पण हुआ।
- केंद्रीय मंत्री ने बताया कि मधुमक्खी पालकों व सरकार के सामूहिक प्रयासों से वर्ष 2020-21 में देश में शहद का उत्पादन वर्ष 2013-14 के 76150 मीट्रिक टन से बढ़कर अब सवा लाख मीट्रिक टन हो गया है। वहीं, मधुमक्खी पालन क्षेत्र से जुड़े हितधारकों की मदद से वर्ष 2020-21 में शहद का निर्यात वर्ष 2013-14 के सवा 28 हजार मीट्रिक टन से बढ़कर लगभग 60 हजार मीट्रिक टन हो गया है।

- मध्य प्रदेश के मुरैना जि़ले के कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र के प्रमुख वैज्ञानिक डॉ. यादवेन्द्र प्रताप सिंह नई तकनीक से गेहूं कि फ़सल बुवाई को लेकर किसानों को प्रेरित कर रहे हैं। इससे गेहूं कि फ़सल तेज़ आंधी तूफान में भी नहीं गिरती है। उन्होंने फसल बोने के लिए जीरो टिलेज सीड ड्रिल तकनीक का प्रयोग रबी की फसल में किया है।
- अभी तक धान कि खेती में इस तकनीक का प्रयोग होता है। इसमें जीरो टिलेज सीड मशीन के जरिए बिना जुताई के खेत में सीधे फसल के बीज और खाद एक साथ बो सकते हैं। लेकिन अब इस तकनीक से गेहूं की बुवाई भी कर सकते हैं।
- जीरो टिलेज सीड मशीन में कम चौड़े हल लगे होते हैं। मशीन के एक भाग में बीज और दूसरे भाग में खाद होती है, जो नीचे हल तक पहुंचते हैं। करीब दो से तीन इंच की चौड़ाई में मशीन जमीन को खोदती है और उसमें बीज बो दिया जाता है। मशीन से बिना जुताई किए बुवाई होती है। यह मशीन कृषि यंत्र विक्रय केन्द्रों पर मिल जाती है। मशीन को किराए पर भी लिया जा सकता है।
23913. Quantum jump in software exports from Kozhikode IT parks
- Software exports from the companies in Kozhikode Government Cyberpark have increased from ₹14.76 crore in 2019-20 to ₹26.16 crore in 2020-21.
- The park, which started with four companies in 2014-15, now has 64 IT and ITES companies and around 1,000 employees.
- Software exports from Kozhikode are mainly to Gulf, European countries and US markets. Most of the major IT companies in Kozhikode have also offices in other countries.

23915. Mills sign contract to export 1.8 mn tonnes sugar so far in 2021-22 season: Govt
- Sugar mills have contracted to export 1.8 million tonnes of sweetener so far in the 2021-22 marketing year, starting this month and asked industry players to ship at least 6 million tonnes to liquidate surplus stocks.
- India's sugar export rose 20 per cent to an all-time high of 7.1 million tonnes in the 2020-21 marketing year ended last month. Sugar exports stood at 5.9 million tonnes in the 2019-20 marketing year.
- The country was able to export a record 7.2 million tonnes of sugar in the 2020-21 marketing year (October-September) to various countries. Around 1.8 million tonnes have already been contracted for exports.

23916. CoWIN Set to Go Global as Over 12 Countries in Talks With Govt to Borrow Technology

South America consists of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
- Majority of the other countries, which have shown interest, are from Africa and central Asia. The platform has proven to be successful in India where it has also handled 2.5 crore vaccinations in a day, with a load of over 800 vaccinations per second.
23917. ‘India to resume vaccine export in Jan’
- India will resume the export of Covid vaccines in January, a top Health Ministry source told BusinessLine. This is in line with the country’s commitment to supply 500 crore doses to countries under GAVI and WHO-led Covax alliance.

23919. India's defence exports grow by 334 percent in last 5 years; Defence Minister says India is ready to meet defence requirements of other countries
- Addressing the Ambassadors' Round Table Conference on DEFEXPO-22 in New Delhi, Mr Singh said, India's export performance is a strong indicator of the quality and competitiveness of the defence products.
- India has increased the defence capital outlay in the annual budget of 2021-22 by 18.75 per cent from the preceding year.
- This is the highest ever increment in the last 15 years. Mr Singh said, government has taken several initiatives to modernise Armed Forces and produce high quality and cost-effective weapon systems and platforms.

23920. First consignment of walnuts from Budgam dispatched under ODOP initiative
- The first consignment of Kashmiri walnuts was flagged off from Budgam.
- A truck carrying 2,000 kilograms was dispatched to Bengaluru, Karnataka under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
- Horticulturists and trade representatives recommended the way forward includes domestic and international marketing through Buyer-Seller Meets, e-commerce on boarding of more agricultural and handicraft/handloom products as well as creating product/scheme awareness for products from each district which will be supported by the ODOP initiative.
