2351. Tata Power signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh set up 7Gw Power Plants
- On 7 march 2025 the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of 7 GW renewable energy projects in the state .
- The collaboration was signed in line with chief minister vision to India’s renewable energy sector.
- The 7 GW renewable energy projects under this MoU will attract an estimated investment of Rs 49,000 crores, creating approximately 33,000 jobs and significantly enhancing the state’s energy infrastructure Additionally, these projects will help reduce 318 million tons of CO₂ emissions, further strengthening the government’s efforts to achieve its climate goals.
2352. WAA Solar develops 14.96 MW ground-mounted solar power plants in Gujarat under PM-Kusum-C Yojana
- On 7 march 2025 WAA Solar Limited has announced the development of a 14.96 MW / 21.747 MWp ground-mounted solar power project under the PM-Kusum-C Yojana in Gujarat for PGVCL (Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited).
- The initiative aligns with India’s clean energy transition and sustainability goals, reinforcing WAA Solar’s commitment to renewable energy expansion.
- The project, aimed at enhancing energy security and reducing carbon footprints, marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to promote solar power adoption across the region.

2353. Haier India Invests Rs 1,000 Cr To Expand Noida Plant, Create 3,500 Jobs
- On 9 March,2025, It was reported that, Haier Appliances India is making a big push to expand its manufacturing capabilities with an additional Rs 1,000 crore investment in its Greater Noida campus.
- The expansion is expected to generate employment opportunities for an additional 3,500 people, reinforcing Haier’s commitment to economic growth in India.
- The expansion at the Greater Noida plant underscores our commitment to the country’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and has been made possible by the strong support of the Government of India.
2354. Isro's POEM-4 successfully completes one thousand orbits on March 4
- On 7 march 2025 ISRO announced that the fourth edition of the PSLV Orbital platform Experiment Module (POEM-4), the repurposed spent upper stage of the PSLV vehicle used for the space docking experiment mission, has successfully completed 1,000 orbits on March 4, 2025 .
- The PSLV-C60 Mission was launched on December 30, 2024, and POEM-4 began its operations subsequent to the successful injection of the SPADEX spacecraft
- ISRO chief said said, "POEM-4 was configured as a three-axis stabilised platform that carried 24 payloads including 10 payloads from Non-Governmental Entities (NGEs) and 14 payloads from ISRO. All the payloads including those from NGEs have completed the intended experiments in orbit.

2355. Rs 10,440 cr allocated for Northeast Frontier Railway: Minister
- On 9 March 2025, Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti said that a record allocation of Rs 10,440 crores has been made for Railways in the northeastern region in the Union Budget 2025–26.
- Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti also highlighted the significant progress in railway infrastructure development, mentioning that doubling works are being carried out at an accelerated pace to enhance capacity and efficiency.
- on March 8, the Minister inspected Dibrugarh railway station to review the progress of its redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat station scheme.
2356. Indian Scientists Develop Hypersonic 'Brahmastra' Missile
- On 7 march 2025 Indian scientists have developed a modern-day ‘Brahmastra’ with an astonishing speed of 12,144 km per hour. To put this into perspective, at this speed, one could travel from New Delhi to Washington, D.C., in just an hour.
- The Brahmastra missile weapon, named the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRAShM), is a hypersonic glide missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
- The Brahmastra missile operates at 10 Mach, making it 10 times faster than the speed of sound. This means it can cover a distance of 3.37 km in just one second – a truly astonishing feat.
2357. Govt Solarizes 3,879 Buildings, Installs 75 MW Rooftop Solar in J&K
- On March 22, 2025, the Jammu & Kashmir government informed the Assembly that it has successfully solarized 3,879 government buildings, contributing to an installed capacity of 28,676 kW.
- Key Highlights of Solar Energy Expansion: Total Rooftop Solar Installed: 75 MW across various districts. Sector-Wise Installations: Government Buildings: 3,879 buildings, generating 28,676 kW. Domestic & Institutional Sector: 5,844 buildings, contributing 34,198.36 kW.
- The J&K government is making significant strides in renewable energy adoption, with 3,879 buildings solarized and 75 MW of rooftop solar installed. While challenging terrain remains an obstacle, the government is committed to expanding solar power solutions to ensure a sustainable energy future for the region.
2358. India Sends Humanitarian Aid to Botswana & Kiribati
- On 22 march, 2025, India sent humanitarian assistance to Botswana in the wake of floods in the country.
- The External Affairs Ministry said in a social media post that the first tranche of around 10 tonnes of assistance comprising essential medicines, surgical supplies, mosquito nets, and water purifiers was dispatched for Botswana.
- Humanitarian assistance has also been sent to Kiribati to help strengthen the healthcare system of the country. A consignment of a 6-bed container-based dialysis unit departed from Mundra Port for Tarawa, Kiribati.

2359. AI-driven surveillance at international borders: IIT Guwahati-incubated start-up's new tech grabs DRDO's attention
- On 23 March, 2025 it was reported that Researchers at IIT Guwahati have developed AI-powered surveillance robots for border security, offering real-time monitoring in challenging terrains.
- The robots, created by startup DSRL, have been recognized by DRDO and are undergoing field trials with the Indian Army for potential integration into defence infrastructure.
- The system features multi-sensor intelligence, autonomous navigation, and obstacle traversal, aiming to enhance national security by countering threats like rogue drones and infiltration attempts.
2360. India’s aviation sector reflects stable outlook amid rising air traffic
- On 23 March, 2025 it was repoted that, India’s domestic air passenger traffic grew by 11.04% in February 2025 compared to the previous year, with total domestic traffic for the financial year reaching 1,551 lakh passengers, exceeding pre-COVID levels.
- IndiGo remains the largest airline in India with a 63.7% market share, followed by the Air India Group at 27.3%, while Akasa Air and SpiceJet hold 4.7% and 3.2% shares, respectively.
- The Indian aviation industry maintains a stable outlook, with expected domestic traffic growth of 7-10% in FY2025 and FY2026, while international passenger traffic is projected to rise by 15-20%.
