21661. Chennai-based Jnana Inventive is helping retailers connect with users online amid pandemic
- Jnana Inventive’s SaaS application, e-vaadikkai, helps retailers gain online presence and connect with users under their own shop or brand name.
- Launched in 2018, Jnana Inventive is the brainchild of husband-wife duo Kalidoss Rajagopalan and DC Sinthuja, and is looking to help offline retail shop owners move their businesses online and connect with customers through its SaaS application, e-vaadikkai.
- E-vaadikkai was launched to solve these problems and help retailers grow their business online, he adds. At present, the SaaS application has over 100 retailers listed on its platform.

- Kochi-based fintech startup Paysack launched its student banking platform Funq to enable financial institutions to launch and build in-class solutions.
- “The student community requires a robust but flexible solution for fee payments, automatic reconciliation, digital campus payment, and lending solutions,” says Ricky Jacob, Co-founder of Kochi-based fintech startup Paysack.
- Founded in 2015, Paysack was initially bootstrapped and based out of Bengaluru. In 2016, to cut down expenses, the startup moved its base to Kochi. Moving forward, between 2015 and 2018, Paysack raised a total of $100,000 funding from friends and family, and a pool of angel investors

- With 300,000 users already on board, CoinSwitch Kuber has seen rapid growth. The startup expects to onboard over 1.5 million users and hopes to become the most trusted company for cryptocurrency investing in India.
- Cryptocurrency may not be a favourite of regulators in India, but it is clearly a hot currency for the startups, users as well as investors. And Bengaluru-based CoinSwitch reflects this uptrend.
- Interestingly, while other companies may have shrunk their operations due to the pandemic or have had to pause the business, CoinSwitch Kuber, a crypto trading platform for India, was launched right in the midst the coronavirus outbreak. The founders say that they saw a spike in growth because traditional markets have been in turmoil due to COVID-19.
21664. After losing their jobs, two engineers from Mandasa in Andhra Pradesh develop a grocery-delivery app
- A Rupesh and Y Dhilli Rao developed an app to deliver groceries to the residents of Mandasa, Srikakulam at a delivery charge of Rs 9 for purchases below Rs 1,000
- “I ordered vegetables and fruits worth Rs 800 a few days ago and they delivered them in 45 minutes. Instead of going to the market amid the risk of infection, I place the orders on the app. I received the delivery in just half-an-hour after placing the order on the SSV EGrocery app. They charge less than the market price too,” said B Shiva Prasad, a resident of Mandasa.
- Due to the increasing number of cases in the district, they decided to introduce an online shopping app called SSV Egrocery, and met with home delivery facilities and wholesale dealers to procure quality items.

- Launched in 2018, Guwahati-based tea startup Aromica Tea offers 30 tea blends that incorporate the health benefits of natural herbs and ingredients.
- These include Guwahati-based Aromica Tea, which is blending good health and wellness in their range of teas. Founded in 2018 by husband and wife duo, Ranjit and Dolly Sharma Baruah, the startup offers 30 tea blends that incorporate health benefits of natural herbs and ingredients.
- Aromica Tea was first launched with five tea blends during the India International Tea & Coffee Expo held at Kolkata in 2018. The tea startup now offers about 30 tea blends, each with its own taste, character, and health benefits. Popular varieties include, chamomile tea, tulsi green tea, blue tea, the patent-pending bhut jolokia tea, saffron tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, moringa tulsi green tea, and turmeric tea.

- कोविड-19 के इलाज में प्लाज्मा ट्रांसफ्यूजन से बहुत से मरीज़ों को मदद मिली है। प्लाज्मा ब्लड का एक तत्व है। इस प्रक्रिया में डोनर के शरीर से ब्लड लिया जाता है, जिसमें उस इन्फेक्शन के लिए एंटीबॉडी होती है, जिससे वह अभी अभी ठीक हुआ है।
- इस ब्लड में से प्लाज्मा को अलग किया जाता है, क्योंकि प्लाज्मा में ही वह एंटीबॉडी होती है और इसे डॉक्टर उस मरीज़ के शरीर में डालते हैं जो अभी भी उसी बीमारी/वायरस से जूझ रहा है।यह प्रक्रिया कारगर है लेकिन सबसे ज्यादा मुश्किल है डोनर्स का सही समय पर मरीज़ और डॉक्टरों के पास पहुँच पाना। इसलिए कुछ छात्रों और डॉक्टरों की एक टीम ने मिलकर एक एप्लीकेशन- COPAL-19 बनाई है, जिसे ज़रिए सही समय पर डोनर्स मरीज़ों की मदद के लिए पहुँच सकते हैं।

- The monotony of their 9-5 jobs made three friends launch Trekmunk, a travel company that organizes offbeat treks and mountaineering expeditions.

- The startup has developed an AI screening tool that can detect COVID-19 through real-time chest X-ray images and can diagnose conditions like COVID-19 induced pneumonia and other related problems.
- The startup aims to bring personalised medicine and evidence-based medicine to India, and is also looking to minimise the doctor-patient ratio in the country.
- The startup has developed a range of solutions to provide speciality healthcare for the bottom of the pyramid at just Rs 100.
- For COVID-19, the team has developed an AI screening tool, which can detect COVID-19 through real time chest X-ray images. It can diagnose conditions like COVID-19 induced pneumonia, round glass opacities and consolidation, lesion localisation in the lung parenchyma with COVID-19 risk and affected area estimate without the intervention of a human being.
21669. Bengaluru startup Meta16Labs is helping semi-urban and rural areas get access to healthcare services
- Meta16Labs’ core product MyTeleOPD is a digital clinic and telemedicine service platform, which connects doctors from across the country with patients from the rural and/or semi urban areas.
- Tapping into the growing segment, Bengaluru-based Meta16Labs Healthcare and Analytics Private Limited (m16labs) is looking to make healthcare solutions accessible to everyone, especially in semi-urban and rural areas.
- “PHCs generally do not have specialist doctors and consist of only general physicians or healthcare workers or pharmacists who provide basic diagnosis. However, with the help of MyTeleOPD platform, patients can connect with specialist doctors and receive specific treatment depending on their ailment,” he adds.
21670. Government approves purchase of fighter jets, missile systems, weapons worth Rs 38,900 crore
- The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) on approved a proposal for procurement of armament, including Russian fighter jets, indigenous missile systems and radars, worth Rs 38,900 crore. Focused on indigenous design and development these approvals include acquisitions from Indian defence industry of Rs 31,130 crore.
- The decisions were taken at a meeting of the DAC chaired by defence minister Rajnath Singh. Twenty-one MiG-29 fighter jets are being bought from Russia while 12 Su-30 MKI aircraft will be procured from Russia.
- The ministry has also approved a separate proposal to upgrade existing 59 MiG-29 aircraft.
